Here’s a video from the river search and barrel clean-up last weekend.
Searches and the clean up will continue after searchers conduct a sonar training/demonstration tomorrow. We’ll post the full story in a bit but here’s the information posted at www.FindStacyPeterson.com. The event is open to the public:
Water Search Training & Demonstration- Saturday May 24, 2008
There will be no land searches Saturday, May 24th. We will be having training and conducting a demonstration of the Hummingbird Sonar equipment that we will be using.
We will be revealing the ‘Stacy Ann’ that we will be using in water searches for Stacy, and clearing barrels from the waterways.
Team Waters will be providing the Friends of Stacy Peterson with a Hummingbird side-scan sonar unit for use in further searches for Stacy. Team Waters will be conducting training for Stacy Peterson searchers and conducting demonstrations for the media and anyone else who would like to see the equipment work. We would like to invite not only the media, but anyone who would like to learn about the side-scan sonar.
Cathy of Mugz’s Hideout has expressed great support in the search for Stacy, she has offered her establishment for us to meet at this weekend and has provided resources for us to use in the searches for Stacy. Thank you, Cathy.

Drew Peterson turned himself in to police Wednesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The warrant was issued for a gun charge which Peterson’s attorney, Joel Brodsky, disputes.
Suburban Life Publications spent Wednesday chronicling the day’s events:
Suburban Life Publications has acquired some exclusive photographs of Stacy Peterson with her family. Once again the folks over at FindStacyPeterson.com were kind enough to provide us with the photos. You can view the pictures by clicking on the Photo tab at the top of this page or click the slide show link below.
Stacy Peterson’s friends and family are rolling out a new fund raising effort to help defray costs associated with the search for the missing Bolingbrook mother.
Peterson’s friend and neighbor Sharon Bychowski said the group is selling “Where is Stacy?” bumper stickers for $2 each. Every week, members of the group Friends of Stacy Peterson, which has applied for non-profit status, will search for cars displaying the stickers and pick two winners and give them a free Stacy Peterson T-shirt.
Bumper stickers may be purchased by picking one up from Bolingbrook Village Clerk Carol Penning at the village hall, 375 W. Briarcliff Road, or by stopping by search meeting locations each Saturday and Sunday morning before searches begin.
Search teams are currently meeting at the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Center, 200 Lindsey Lane, at 9 a.m. each Saturday and Sunday. The location may change. Check www.FindStacyPeterson.com and click on “Searches” for updated information.
FYI: The helicopter shown at the end of the video is a miniature, remote-controlled camera that shoots high resolution pictures. This is just one of the many tools brought to the search by Sean Henady’s Indiana-based company, Aerial Image Corp. Henady’s group also had the real deal up in the air Saturday, March 29.
We’ve just finished updating our photo page. The folks over at FindStacyPeterson.com were kind enough to send us a few photos that haven’t been seen by many people yet. The first link on the page contains a slideshow of all these new photos, including family poses and a couple of wedding pictures. The second link is the previous slideshow of Suburban Life Publications’ coverage of the case thus far.

The first large-scale fundraiser in honor of Stacy Peterson raised more than $11,000 to aid in the search for the missing Bolingbrook mother Sunday.
About 300 people attended the fundraiser at 115 Bourbon St., 3359 W. 115th St., Merrionette Park. All proceeds from ticket sales, raffles and auctions, will go toward funding continued search efforts when weather allows.
Peterson’s step-sister Kerry Simmons said the turnout, which included many people outside of her sister’s friends and family, is a sign of people’s continued support for their family.
“They’re supporting Stacy like she’s part of their family,” Simmons said. “I’m sure she’s watching from somewhere, but I wish she could see this. It’s amazing.”
The 19-year-old college sophomore from Bolingbrook has high hopes to become a successful filmmaker and is looking to break into the industry with a full-length documentary about the search for Stacy Peterson.
“I followed the media, interviewed a lot of reporters, how they come on to a huge story like this and they take a town over … how they convey their message,” Turvey explained. “And also it’s about the search for a missing person, the friends and family.”
Welcome to the first installment of the Bolingbrook Reporter’s and Suburban Life Publications’ new regular blog post: The Reporter’s Notebook.
The idea behind this reporter’s notebook is simple: As news comes in, we’ll update you on what’s going on behind the scenes in the investigations of Stacy Peterson’s disappearance and Kathleen Savio’s death and the larger scope of the Peterson case. This is also a way for us to take you “behind the scenes” and let you, the reader, see what we’re working on and how we’re gathering information during the many twists and turns of this case.
As always, you can find the latest news from your community at mysuburbanlife.com or for the latest on the Peterson case, visit here.
To start off, we’ve posted a video from findstacypeterson.com that contains the last voice message Peterson left for her father at 12:37 p.m. Oct. 17. Stacy’s sister, Cassandra Cales, added some visuals to go with the audio.
As you’ve probably noticed, the news coverage of this case is slowing down but there’s still a lot of activity going on with the investigations.
On Thursday, we got word that lawyers on both sides of a lawsuit claiming Drew Peterson used excessive force and broke an arrestee’s thumb were supposed to meet Friday morning to view a videotape that police say proves Peterson was not involved. After a good deal of time waiting with no sign of plaintiff Timothy Brownlee or his lawyer, we decided to pack up and head back to the office. It’s still unclear whether we missed them or there was a miscommunication.
Regardless, Brownlee’s lawyer told us earlier this week that he expected to view the tape by the end of the month. If the police are right about the tape, Peterson could soon have one less thing to worry about.
Also, we’re working on setting up a new forum page for all of you to share your thoughts, so check back soon.
That’s it for now. In the meantime, feel free to e-mail me, Danya Hooker, at dhooker@mysuburbanlife.com with questions, requests, tips, story ideas or anything else that happens to be on your mind … within the limits of this case, of course.
The search for Stacy Peterson resumed Saturday morning as volunteers looked for signs of the missing Bolingbrook mother at the Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm in Bolingbrook, among other places.
