  1. Okay … I was answering the Q about why Dp didn’t let them search parts of his house and Stacy’s car.

Not just randomly posting thoughts. 😀

  2. You know, ever since gatehouse had us register, I miss my friends who used to post here. There were so many … and then … poof.

They were the anti-clone and became one.

  3. And I don’t think I used more than one bad word, either…

Well, not counting the bad word I misspelled…

  4. That’s what you heard/read/saw? He actually said his rights were being violated when they had a search warrant? If there was nothing to hide, then he should have allowed them to search Stacy’s car.

  5. I posted this on the previous thread – bringing it over here.

Noway………….excellent theory! We’ve talked about a missing laptop computer, and who did the computer belong to, and why would it be something that Drew needed to get rid of. I was thinking in terms of tracking software of some sort.

I didn’t think of other surveillance equipment in the house, and now that you mention it, it makes a LOT of sense.

  6. cfs, if you were the one who asked about DP not letting them search the house, then I’m answering your post.

Don’t make me go back to that other thread. It will be sometime tomorrow before I get back here!

  7. cfs, I think it was one of the street rats who commented on Drew not letting them search … Mike Robinson maybe? Hang on. (lol I typed Hang one but caught my mistake!)

  8. Bash………I wonder if the reason Drew didn’t let LE search Stacy’s car was because he had surveillance equipment on it………maybe a GPS tracking device?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++
LOL Noway, what are you talking about??

  10. Uh, I don’t think LE actully HAD a warrant the first time they searched the house and DP’s car…

He just gave his acquiescence to the initial search, but refused to let them search Stacy’s car.

  11. no, I took care of it. I got my bug spray and put on my kryptonite cape, and everything is okay now.

  12. fascinatinghhardee har har got a little out of line. Turned me in and said I was a slap in the face to you, Gatehouse. Hurt my feelings.

  13. Uh, Mollymcgee, that is actually just exactly my impression of why he didn’t allow LE to initially search Stacy’s car without a warrant.

  14. naw, just someone who didn’t pay attention in kindergarten, you know, the part about playing nice with the other kids, and boys are stupid.

  15. Hang one, lol. We are full of it tonight…..GEEZ, it 2:15 am! Had no idea!!! I guess time DOES fly when you’re having fun!

  16. called us “magpies”

cfs is probably laughing so hard she can’t see straight, otherwise, she’d tell you.

  17. You’re right as always, Gatehouse.

I put on my Wonder Woman Underroos, and the pernicious snits fled the site like the cowards they are…

Though, i must admit, i really think they’re all allergic to the bug spray. Goodness knows how that stuff can clog the sinuses of even the righteous…

  18. I’m wrong.

    But I did find this.

Quote: “Subsequent to that search warrant, we went back several days later on another search warrant based on information that was learned after the first search warrant,” Dobrich said.

Based upon the information learned since then, police have concluded that the case had gone “from a missing persons case to a potential homicide case,” Dobrich said.

“Early on, we looked at this as a missing persons case, but also believed strongly that based on the (Kathleen) Savio investigation (into the death of Drew Peterson’s third wife) and the information that we were gleaning within the first 24 hours of the missing persons case with Stacy, was starting to strongly point to Drew Peterson being a person of interest,” Dobrich said. “I would say that right now, Drew Peterson has gone from being a person of interest to clearly being a suspect.”

Dobrich hinted that evidence was found in the recent searches of the Peterson house, perhaps computer evidence which is changing the nature of this case.

    http:// wcbstv.com/national/kathleen.savio.autopsy.2.564524.html

    _________

I hadn’t realized that DP was named a suspect so fast … and maybe because of computer evidence?

  19. Oh, good Lordie… I forgot to capitalize my “I’s”…

Please pardon me , whilst I flee this good room in shame to stand in the corner…

  20. Rescue, my side is killing me!! Yes, between the RAID and the Kryptonite cap, Rescue came to your rescue!!! She’s my HERO!!!

  21. I see that at least three were served. Search warrants that is.

And as far as letting them search part of the house and your car without a search warrant (if they did not have) but not the rest of the house (and your MISSING wife’s car) …

    What is up with that?

  22. Oh my goodness Bash, Iam absolutely rolling at your post and yours too Rescue!!! Oh my!! I can’t stop laughing to answer you guys!

  23. You do know … by mentioning fascinating … he will appear. It’s a given. 😦

    He is out there.

    L u r k i n g …

  24. You better bet your sweet bippy that I can say “Lordie”, Noway406!

For some reason, though, I still say “damn” and “hell” alot.

    Aw…

    Shitake mushrooms…

  25. And so much for gatehouse going to bed at a decent hour for a change.

My kids must have woken gatehouse too.

And now the kids are asleep. And I’m here.

  26. Noway…………I remember the article about the search warrants, and especially that LE mentioned computer evidence that would change the nature of the investigation.

I think those comments were made at the first and only press conference LE gave in this case.

  27. And I will very happily share my appreciation of that fact, Noway406…

As soon as I get out of the corner…

  28. wooo, I just sat up. Le mentioned computer evidence that would change the nature of the investigation?”

Now, that’s quite interesting. Every time I think I’m up on most everything, I learn something new.

  29. Bash, I think those are allowed. What you said above.

Like “dam knowledge” … I really meant knowledge about the Dresden Dam and whether maintenance is normal and it’s just a wacky coincidence that it is closed after a psychic wants to search …

Oh, I have to get some sleep.

    I’m rambling … 😀

  30. Actually, Mollymcgee, ISP has given several press conferences and press releases regarding the cases…

Which I will happily share when I get my arse outta this damn corner…

  31. Wonder if that Dam closing is just for maintenance, or if they’re searching it too? I don’t know anything about that place, or even where it’s at. I asked earlier, but I didn’t see a response.

I’ve 15 miles in the other direction from Bolingbrook (by other direction, I mean north of BB)

  32. rescueapet // May 21, 2008 at 2:20 am

Next time, I’m going to tell him the War’s over and he can get parts for his head now.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++
LOLOLO, who are you going to tell this too?? LOLOLOL.

  33. That press conference I remember was right after the first two searches if I remember correctly.

But until Noway mentioned it, I hadn’t thought of surveillance equipment Drew might have had. Being a police officer, he’d have access to the latest equipment. I bet Stacy’s car was bugged, and there were probably other types of equipment Drew had to clear out before the searches.

  34. I think the third one was in December. Don’t make me go back … too hard on this laptop.

Oh, you could click on the link above. Well copy it and take out the space.

I’m heading to bed. Solve the crime while I sleep … okay?

  35. Rescue……………..the Dresden Locks are north of Bolingbrook. I’ve got a map someone posted of the area, and there’s a small section of the Dresden Locks that’s a restricted area – military.

I’m hoping that they searched the Dresden area while they had it closed to boat traffic.

  36. Yes, it’s getting late here too. I’m going to be dreaming of surveillance equipment tonight.

  37. Rescue…………maybe I read the map wrong. I’m not familiar with the area as I’m in another state. I’ll take your word for it, as you live in the area. 🙂

Wonder why she pays BB taxes?

    ******************

Yes, but in terms of I55, it’s North/South. I would travel on I55 South to get to Bolingbrook; from BB towards the Loop, it’s I55 North.

Just wanted to set that straight.

Yeah, maybe a little. A little PO’d that MORE of my unnecessary, personal info is being put out there, but it’s more so just proving the point that I don’t have anything to hide.

  51. Bash … was it you who asked about TM’s wife? SYM has given me credit for it.

Have I lost my mind completely? Help! 😀

  52. Bash was up all night it appears. Don’t imagine she will be here to answer your questions until this afternoon….

  53. 😉 I read her posts. I’m not sure what happened. I’m sure I asked about the grand jury. I meant to.

And I don’t know that Joel’s answer to the question about TM’s wife was accurate.

TM’s brother had posted that TM’s wife had been located and she was fine. It was not true that she was missing … so now it’s he said/he said.

Will the real TM’s wife let us know, please?

  54. I saw your grand jury questions, and didn’t he answer that yesterday? Joel is probably going by what Drew has told him about Tom’s wife, and it doesn’t sound like Drew is very close to any of the Morphey’s, although since Tom was at one of his bars, he may know Tom better than the other two brothers and the sister. At any rate, I would bet that John Morphey would know more about Tom’s wife than Drew does.

  55. Okay. Haven’t lost my mind. Just my ability to follow the format and read correctly.

My question was below the Q about TM’s wife.

    No sleep.

  56. I’m sure that some would argue about me saying I haven’t lost my mind!

Bash really went wild with the Qs on SYM.

LOL … I got so used to seeing that green eye, I started seeing it where it wasn’t!

  57. 9. There are several threroies on Pastor Shori and I would love to cross-examine him on the stand. What gets me the most is that Pastor Shori is expecting us to believe that Stacy told him that Drew killed Kathy and that he didn’t call the police and told her to go home and try to patch things up with Drew. If you believe that I have a bridge in brooklyn to sell you. (sorry if that is insulting to the Pastor, but come on!)
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,316418,00.html
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Unless Stacy told Drew that Schori said that, Drew is lying. She may have told Drew that to get him off her back about seeing Schori, but Schori have never said any such thing in print or video. This is just another example of Drew telling Bordsky something and Brodsky turning around and stating it as if it were fact.

His answers to questions on SYM are full of holes and if he’s going to defend Drew, then he needs to start doing more research on who said and who did what! I mean why bother with it anyway? He’s supposed to be working on a defense for Drew instead of throwing out useless garbage to the public. Sorry folks, but that’s just my opinion.

  58. I spent the last weeks catching up on all the posts and chit, after having spent months reading at FSP before it was shut down. I didn’t post much, but I’m fighting tennis elbow/carpal tunnel in my mouse arm. Except for the loss of personal posts, closing FSP forum IMO was a good idea. At least Pam Boscos version. I heard Alison Rosati (CH5,NBC) report last night that JB claimed that their complaints against FSP shut it down. Whatever he wants to think. He’s just fishing for reasonable doubts to use at trial; the less said publicly by ‘Reps’ of the family/friends, the better for the prosecution (less out of context ‘quoting’).
Lost at FSP was a map cross section of the Illinois waterway link I had (questions about the depth at the dresden lock was brought up last night), but I found a great link concerning depths of the Ill-Mich canal at an Army Corp Engineers site,
    Rivergages.com
click on Rock Island District–Illinois River basin. You can get current levels at each station, including a link to google earth that will map it for you. It is over 500 feet deep there!!
Also, last I could find on maintenance being done at dresden was back in 1999, and it was up and down the canal, many stations, not just one. We’ll see.

  59. Sorry, my whole rant was because Brodsky said Schori told Stacy to go home and try to patch things up with Drew. He NEVER said that!! I got carried away and forgot to add that.

  60. Thanks lizanne. Maybe maintenance every 9 years is normal. 😉

Who said that the pastor had told her to go back home and patch it up with Drew? Was that the pastor or Drew?

I read the article from the link above. I wonder what the average counselor would have told a patient to do … would they have insisted the patient stay with them while the police were called … or would they allow the person to return home.

If Stacy said ‘all the time’ that she was afraid of Drew … the pastor must have heard that too … oh ugh. It all just sucks.

  61. I read a post that said there was to be a search there before they issued the press release for the dam maintenance. Maybe it was just speculation.

  62. Well, since closing the dam was necessary in order to search, it’s good that the dam needed maintenance.

    Two birds, one stone.

  63. If the locks had been searched there would have been something in the news.
    R. Kelly porn would just have to wait while they cut to the helicopter cameras.

    Remember mid-December?

No search. Ugh. 500 feet deep? They won’t just let a sonar-equipped boat go into a lock without a confession/admission/strong evidence.

They would have to stop barge traffic.

  64. Noway, what I posted upthread was the answer Joel posted about Neil Schori on SYM. Brodsky said that’s what Neil said, but who do you think he got his information from? Drew even said in a live interview that Schori had told Stacy to go home and patch it up with her “husband.” Do you remember that Freudian slip???

  65. fiestygurl:
i have found to believe nothing lorie says or says she does or what her family does or her ex boyfriends do shes a walking drama something

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Bwaaaahahahaha!!!! But Fiesty, don’t you know that Lorie has “connections”? The chief contacts her regularly to tell her what is going on and give her updates on the case!!!

  66. cfs, I’m remembering something.

But don’t get the Freudian slip. The pastor would have told Stacy to patch it up with her husband; he would have told Drew to patch it up with hise wife.

I think I seriously need to nap. My brain is just not working.

  67. Unfortunately nobody knows what if anything was said to the pastor except for the pastor, Stacy, and the Big Man Upstairs. That being said IF the pastor had told Stacy something along the lines of go home and patch things up. Do you honestly think he would admit on TV? By admitting that, he would be saying, “I pushed her back into the arms of a killer.”

  68. A little more research and I found this link-so I stand corrected on number of closures at dresden. It has the whole archive of notices; Lockport in Feb, etc.
    Enjoy.

    http://www2.mvr.usace.army.mil/NavNotices/default.cfm?type=0&archive=true&cid=1

I think re-searching the ponds near pheasant court for a laptop/journal would be more prolific. The locks are a needle in a haystack, and I’m not sure the perp didn’t move her on day two (day one she’s in a storage locker ie) to a distant site(s) on his way to wisconsin to ‘store’ his bike. I’d look for storage lockers/friends warehouses in the ping areas to search for evidence.
JMO that bodies in water usually surface, and I feel that how to dispose of the body was the one premeditated part of the crime. Especially with access to a microlight trike- 250mi range at 50mph can cover a lot of territory.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Exactly Sal, so where does Drew come off saying the pastor said that to Stacy????

  70. I just went back and watched the Schori interviews with Greta and at no point does he say that he told Stacy to go home and patch things up.

This is what he does say:

That he thinks Stacy stayed with Drew out of fear.
That she was very scared and crying when she told him Drew had killed Kathleen.
That when she told him about the murder he thought, What is my role? What can I do to help her?”
That he thinks Stacy just wanted someone to listen – to be a “sounding board”.
He tried to control his own anxiety in order to hear her out.

He never said anything about giving her advice. From the sounds of it, she basically spilled her guts and he just listened. At any rate, that is what he told Greta.

  71. I could see the pastor telling Drew that he (the pastor) had told Stacy to patch it up with her husband to downplay what they had really talked about.

And there is more to the pastor’s statement than what was released.

But when Drew made the statement about patching it up, he said the pastor had said to “patch it up with her wife” if I understand cfs correctly.

  72. settingitstraight // May 21, 2008 at 12:07 pm

    Drew is being arrested!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    +++++++++++++++++++++
    ARE YOU KIDDING?????????????

  73. facs, it wasn’t the pastor who said that. It was Drew telling someone that the pastor had said to Stacy “go home and patch it up with your wife.”

    That’s the Freudian slip.

If cfs is here, she can tell you who Drew made the statement to. I sorta remember it.

Is anyone else running slow … I’ve logged out twice and it’s taking forever to refresh, so it might be my computer.

But gatehouse, maybe you could delete Bash’s off topic posts in the wee hours of the morning? I don’t know that she’d mind … she might even be grateful. 😀

  74. With the PR guy on it now, I would believe he was told to say that to sow reasonable doubt. I think it’s all a dance to them. I was waiting for him to decide that the guy she “ran off with” had done her harm. What a joke– but all for the creation of reasonable doubt.
As for Shori not Saving her, it’s all 20/20 after the fact. We don’t know that she didn’t insist on staying and beating him (like kathleen was determined to do) by making him leave the house.

  75. Dead serious, cfs!!!!!! He’s on his way to the police department to turn himself in right now!!!

  76. Ugh … no wonder it’s slow. Are you serious?

I am gullible. I believed the search at Dresden.

Tell me you are for real.

  77. Drew Peterson and Joel Brodsky are on their way to the Bolingbrook police station to turn themselves in, WBBM Newsradio 780 is reporting. WBBM 780 reports a warrant has been issued for Peterson’s arrest, but the charges in the warrant have not been learned

  78. WGN local news is reporting an arrest warrent has been issued and they have a reporter on the way to Bolingbrook.

  79. In a developing story, a Will County judge has issued an arrest warrant for former Bolingbrook police sergeant Drew Peterson. Peterson is the main suspect in the disappearance of his wife Stacy Peterson. A source has confirmed police activity in the Peterson’s home. Watch Fox News at Noon for live updates and click on the attached video link for AirFox LIVE video

  80. It was just reported that this is a weapons violation. Barrel too short on a gun. This seems to me they are really reaching.

  81. If its just for a gun charge, he could be out in an hour.

I’m anxious to see the warrent is for.

  82. yeah that’s really reaching and once again tells me LE doesn’t have squat when it comes to stacy or kathleen.

  83. Channel2 wbbm says gun charges, ch 7,9 are just saying arrest warrant. I know that there was supposed to be a hearing at RVJC concerning the kids court guardianship(?) tomorrow am. That’s the River Valley Judicial Center (which mainly houses Juvies) there must be a family court there, or maybe just closed court (to the press, public).

  84. Maybe they are getting him away from residential area to arrest him for the Big One?

Joel always said that if an arrest warrant were issued, he would have his client go to the police station.

I just have to believe they have more than this on him.

  85. Ok sorry guys but this is just crazy now. If they know its a very minor charge, then there is no need for the helicopters etc.

  86. Felony?

Drew Peterson is expected to turn himself in to the Illinois State Police on Wednesday afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest on a charge of felony unlawful use of a weapon, said Peterson’s attorney, Joel Brodsky.

  87. Noway, I would hope for all the attention this is getting now. If this is truly just what they are reporting it is, then this is all crazy.

  88. The news is covering this like OJ…LOL. There is a live shot of him enroute to the police station. The helicopter above is following and recording….seriously that is a bit much.

  89. A couple news stations are reporting it as a misd. charge, so we will have to just wait and see.

He will post bond and be out soon.

  90. A Suspect in the possible murder of his wife being arrested for the unlawful use of a weapon is pretty serious to me.
He thinks can get away with anything. Finally..something

  91. was a cop just in the drivers seat of his car?

dang the news is hardup to act like this is something major.
    lol

  92. somuch –

If what is being reported is true, that it is a minor gun charge, its not serious then.

This happens everyday, thousands of times a day around the country.

  93. Freedom he did speak. Nothing more than, yes its a felony. I’m on my way to county to make his bond, blah, blah, blah.

This has to be very disappointing to Sharon!!!!

  94. how on earth could it take LE over 5 months to figure out one of the guns they seized is too short under IL law.
LE you are showing your hand and it’s empty!

  95. Don’t believe that they would arrest him on only this. There is more to it. They wouldn’t make fools of themselves on national TV.

If they were going to arrest him for this, they’d sneak him in the back way.

  96. Personally I dont think this is looking too good for the ISP. If all they have at this point is the gun barrel is 3/8 of a inch too short….Yicks, that doesnt say much to me.

  97. OH PLEASE LE you are embarrassing!!

Drew Peterson was expected to turn himself in to Illinois State Police on Wednesday afternoon, hours after an arrest warrant was issued for a felony weapons violation, said his attorney.

At around 12:30 p.m., Peterson left his home and shouted “I love you” to a throng of reporters gathered outside his home before getting into the gold Mercedes owned by his attorney Joel Brodsky.

Spokesmen for both the State Police and the Will County state’s attorney’s office would not comment on the matter, but Brodsky said the charge was related to an assault rifle Drew carried while employed by the Bolingbrook Police Department.

“He was a SWAT team member, and he was allowed to have two duty weapons,” Brodsky said. “This was a registered duty weapon with the Bolingbrook Police Department, and he carried it for 10 years. The State Police had this weapon in their possession before he retired, so there is no basis for this charge.”

Brodsky said the charge is related to a technical requirement about the length of the gun barrel.

“According to what I was told, [the barrel] was three-eighths of an inch too short.”

Brodsky said his client will be fingerprinted and photographed, and then will be able to leave after posting 10 percent of the $7,500 bond in the arrest warrant.

  98. I switched to actual TV for the audio. Brodsky says it’s a felony charge, that he thinks Drew will be out later today and when someone asked him if it was harrassment, he said, “YOU can call it that if you want, but I don’t think it is”.

Does anyone wonder if they wanted him in custody because they think something big will happen with GJ tomorrow and they want him on hand?

It will be interesting to see if he is out tonight or not.

  99. Fac, he will be out today, so they wont be holding him.

I guess I dont understand what you mean by “they want him on hand”

I think it’s just all part of the dance, unless they think this was the murder weapon.
Does “non-conforming” include silencer-ready? Does anyone know about this kind of gun, the AR-15? I thought you had to turn in duty weapons anyway- especially a non-conforming one. ???

  101. If LE is infact arresting him because of something coming down the pike that is very underhanded of them!
Look the man went and turned himself in, he didn’t run, he didn’t have a police stand off so why the need to put him in a cell because of something with the GJ??

  102. I think they want to know where he is before something big goes down.

You just don’t arrest a murder suspect because his weapon … and make that duty weapon … not personal weapon was 3/8 inch too short.

I’ve got to believe the ISP is smarter than that.

They’ve got to have something more than this.

  103. the weapons were seized before he retired so no weapons to turn in.
how could this be a duty weapon for 10 years and then suddenly be illegal?

  104. This will be tricky because the gun is actually the property of the Bolingbrook PD…so they will have to show paper work etc for its whereabouts at any given time, and they will have to show and prove that the gun was in compliance with state laws.

  105. It doesn’t make sense … but this is hearsay (Joel telling us what they told him).

    Has ISP made a statement.

    I’ve lost my feed …

  106. I’m wondering if for some reason he is not out tonight, it might indicate that they expect to charge him with something bigger tomorrow.

If they already had him in custody they wouldn’t need to worry about any sort of showdown or whatever.

If he does get released later today, then it would obviously not be the case.

    Just thinking aloud.

  107. ISP and the States Attorneys are grasping right now.

And I have not doubt in my mind that they wont try to play mind tricks on Drew. Its common and legal to do so.

  108. Ah, correct, Freedom. But was he still SWAT?
I believe they said duty weapons were allowed to be non-conforming, and that is his defense.
Looked up the weapon, very scary, like an m-16. Maybe they just don’t want that on the street anywhere, and maybe they also want a thumb on him.

  109. Noway, I’m sure they faxed over a copy of the warrent to Joel. I would have to believe that if he is on his way to county to post, its what they are saying it is.

  110. He swore in court those were his guns , and that was after he retired. So he said it was his and he owns it. Charge his a$$ i say.

  111. He swore in court those were his guns , and that was after he retired. So he said it was his and he owns it. Charge his a$$ i say.

  112. If I were Brodsky you can better believe I would be filing paperwork today to have all BPD issued service weapons siezed and examined.

  113. “Drew Peterson is expected to turn himself in to the Illinois State Police on Wednesday afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest on a charge of felony unlawful use of a weapon, said Peterson’s attorney, Joel Brodsky.”

So maybe the unlawful use was that he was supposed to have turned it in because he was no longer SWAT?

Any one know when he left SWAT?

  114. freedom, exactly.

How can Drew be held responsible for a weapon issued (maybe I’m wrong there) by the BBPD or SWAT that didn’t meet requirements.

Maybe it met them initially, but Drew did not turn his in when he was supposed to, that is, when the requirements changed?

I have no information just lots of questions. 😦

  115. Freedom I agree. If it wasnt his personal weapon, I would be concerned if I was a cop on the BPD that worked Swat also….all their guns need to be looked at if this is the case.

  116. lettruth- I agree you know they are going to screw with him anyway they can and I’m sure he’s knows it also.
I feel sorry for those kids, was this really necessary for LE to do? Why not an arrest warrant for Kathleen’s death or Stacy’s disappearance??
so this answers our question about grand jury and charges. This is a felony and did not go before the grand jury. So I’m thinking if they don’t have enough evidence they start a GJ!

  117. Overall, I kind of think that this is not about the gun…and not about harrassing Drew either.

IMO it is really about getting him into custody, maybe in preparation for bigger charges.

    Otherwise, it really just seems…lame.

  118. Dont you all think that if a weapon that the BPD owned, and it was missing that the Chief wouldnt have been screaming and hollering about it?

Something is very strange with this, and it could possibly come back to bite someone in the arse.

  119. Fac, that is what Grand Juries are known for. They can charge and indict a piece of toast if they want.

Its everyday common people that say, “We believe there is enough evidence to indict this person.” They are not legal experts etc.

A lot of times it is done this way so the defense doesnt see what the prosection has.

I have said from the start that I dont doubt he will be arrested after a GJ session. But where or not those charges stick is another thing.

  120. I really think it was a personal weapon that drew owned but registered with Bpd as a service weapon.

Facs, that is what I am hoping.

  121. Where are the pundits?! I want to hear from PUNDITS. They need to bandy it about and cross talk, so I can get indignant if need be!!

  122. For all of you hoping Drew was going to end up in a cell for awhile. CNN Headline News just showed footage of him and Brodsky leaving the PD. What a crock! All that for in/out in 15 minutes. What a waste of tax dollars. At this point they are just trying to harrass him.

    🙂

  124. It was telling to me a few weeks back when one of the ISP officers gave an interview to his local media outlet.

What stood out was he was back at his home post. He was no longer working the case at the ISP in Joliet. He said he was on call to come back, and I believe he said he was the information officer.

As much as people wanted to believe that 50 cops were working this case 24/7…it’s no longer the case. I think they have done what they can, and have to sit and wait for more concrete stuff to come in.

  125. So maybe they wanted him away from his house?

Why else would this take place?

What the heck is going on?

  126. I hate to say this, but Im laughing my arse off here over this.

This is so funny, and makes so many look bad.

  127. Wanted to get him away from his home for what? They can’t enter his home without a search warrant. You are grasping at air.

  128. I’m curious because it did say he was turning himself into the ISP.

If that is fact, then why go to the Bolingbrook PD? Why not go to the ISP to turn him in?

    This is funny!!!!

  129. Maybe they made a mistake … Joel and Drew … and went to BBPD but should have gone to ISP?

    This is absolutely crazy.

  130. I’m laughing also LE should be embarrassed for pulling this crap.
yes a felony charge totally stops him from getting his guns back even to Stephen.

  131. Whereever they were going, Brodsky didn’t have a trailer hitched to that Mercedes with Drew in a jail cell on the back. I’m sorry but if I were Drew, I would go home and take a nice long rest on the front porch cause you know Sharon’s blood is boiling. She was probably planning on making all the news shows tonight but now they will Drew and Brodsky instead.

  132. Don’t know nothin’ about Sharon wanting to be on the news … but get JB back on camera. Have him explain what is going on.

Or get that spokesperson for the ISP to talk.

    The people demand answers.

  133. Sharon can rest easy, she knows Drew won’t have an assault rifle to point in her direction.

Oh, but he would just laugh and say joking, you know how us cops joke.

  134. uthisthere // May 21, 2008 at 1:25 pm

The judge was going to give him his guns back, now he can’t.
    ******************
Well, that’s a method to the madness. At least it wasn’t just in order to ruin his day.

Anyone think it’s interesting that Brodsky stated that he did not feel that it was harrassment? Why did he want to play nice when he’s been so aggressive in the past?

  135. Itssal, I was thinking the same thing.

She was all dressed in her pink missing shirt, and all for not.

And folks, States Attorney Glasgow is running for reelection this year….Hmmmmm.

    How do you figure that?

  137. “Drew Peterson is expected to turn himself in to the Illinois State Police on Wednesday afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest on a charge of felony unlawful use of a weapon, said Peterson’s attorney, Joel Brodsky.”

Unless he was misquoted … he said ISP. Why did he got to BBPD first? I want to know.

  138. I have to laugh at those that think Sharon is really fearful. Did you see her outside today, pointing to his house, and there was some guy running around, all excited.

Someone that is truly fearful, wouldnt be outside pointing etc.

She was getting all excited, and for nothing.

  139. Unless he was misquoted … he said ISP. Why did he got to BBPD first? I want to know.
    **********************

They may have allowed him to post at BB, just because it was closer.

  140. The State’s Attorneys are the ones that need to be holding a press conference to confirm this warrent.

  141. Fac, that is what I thought originally. They dont need to clog up the County Jail if the client is able to post bail. Its common that people do bond out at a local station instead of being brought all the way into county.

And I would think, if he was at the BPD, and there is an active warrent, he would no be allowed to leave with his attorney unless he was bonded…even if it was to take him to the county. Its a liability for the BPD.

  142. I don’t see what the big deal with Stephen having the guns is anyways….it seems to me like they think holding these guns is gonna make him talk…not gonna work folks….not gonna work. Find some real evidence or leave him alone. You can not be convicted on speculation alone.

  143. I think the earlier quote about 10% of 7,500 was incorrect. This later quote sounds more like a felony amount:

“The felony charge, unlawful use of a weapon, carries a penalty of up to five years in prison. Peterson must post 10 percent of a $75,000 bond to be released, police said.”

  144. And lets face some facts, if Drew really, really wants a weapon he can have one in 5 minutes. They are a dime a dozen, illegal though, but they can find them if they want.

  145. truthisthere // May 21, 2008 at 1:39 pm

Oh well at least we got to watch the Perp Drive. ***********

It was certainly lacking in drama. Couldn’t they at least have made an unscheduled stop at the ATM or something?

  146. I wonder if the FoSP paid for the gas for the helicopters so they could get footage of the Perp Drive. LOL , lame, lame, lame, yep still lame.

  147. Rumor has it there is a home in Bolingbrook right now that has a ton of coffee and cookies that will no longer be used. They were intented for the media, but since there really isn’t a good story, the media has moved onto the R Kelly Trial.

    LOL

  148. Honestly, I think it was a preemptive strike. I do believe they’re afraid of him with guns + kids + neighbors + alcohol + attempt to serve murder warrant might = violence
Do you really think he couldn’t get a gun or two out of his loyal son?

  149. Liz, he could get a gun anywhere. It’s the Chicagoland area, there are thousands of illegal gun on the street here.

  150. I promise you if Drew went to the Westside of Chicago is search of a gun, he would find one in 2 seconds, and the person that sold it to him wouldnt he know who Drew Peterson is, and would never, ever say a word about it.

  151. True, truth, but they may also need a real reason to pull the Foid card. And the AR-15 could do a lot of damage. I don’t think he would risk a street buy at this point either. Too risky.

  152. lizanne61 // May 21, 2008 at 1:49 pm

    ________

Lizanne come down from the clouds. This was not a preemptive strike. This is just LE delaying the inevitable of the guns going to Stephen.

  153. And I have to believe if it was a very serious gun issue, the ATF would have been involved. That way they could have gotten him on some sort of Federal charge.

  154. He would stick out like a sore thumb on the WS- trust me, the cops would pull him over for being a white dork. No joke

  155. Liz…Im serious when I say this. If he went to the Westside of Chicago…they wouldnt know Drew Peterson from anyone else. And do you think the gangbanger that would sell him a gun is going to turn him in, if he did know who Drew was?

Yes in Bolingbrook he would be noticed right away, but not in Chicago. Gangbangers that are selling these illegal guns could careless about Drew.

  156. Ahh Liz….I guess you dont know the westside too well. He could be in and outta there within minutes with a gun.

  157. maybe not, just hearsay, my brother got pulled over there, was told to leave. Still think they want to keep his guns out of the family.

  158. ah hell he doesn’t even have to go anywhere to get a gun I’m sure he’s got plenty of contacts that would bring him a gun.
but I agree if he really wants a weapon and a show down it will happen.
I don’t think he does and I think he knows that LE is screwing with him because they can.

  159. Letthetruth – I don’t think Lizanne said he’d be pulled over on the WS for being recognized as Drew, just for being a white dork.

I myself am white and just moved from the West Side a year ago. Yes, there is crime there. Arguing about whether Drew Peterson might go there to obtain a gun is a little silly. I might argue that he would never want to obtain a gun illegally, since he has no FOID card and wouldn’t risk being taken from his kids over something like that. It has as much merit.

Only DP knows what’s going on in his head and what he may or may not do.

  160. Yeah, I dont believe it going to have a show down with them when they come to get him.

I think it will go a lot like today, very peaceful, possible Joel will bring him in etc.

  161. Fac, I agree….all I was trying to say is, if he really wants one he can get one…its pretty easy to do so.

I believe this was just a way for them to mess with him a bit, and nothing more. And I believe if he hasnt cracked under the pressure yet, he is going to anytime soon.

Do you think he was a wee bit nervous driving to the BBPD?

Oh, to be a fly on the inside of that car. 😉

  163. truth, I have to think you’re right about Brodsky tipping off the media.

I don’t think ISP would have wanted a circus like that for a gun charge, felony or not.

I’m still hoping there is more to this than what we have so far.

😀 Maybe they’ve installed bugs for real this time. And they needed him out of the house.

  164. I agree Truth about Brodsky tipping off the media, andNoway….I bet he wasn’t nervous much at all if he knew what the warrant was all about.

I swear, hearing about Drew being arrested only the find out it’s a weapons charge is like checking a lotter ticket to find all the numbers are right except one! This is just too much ado over nothing in my book….unless there’s something going on with all of this we don’t know about. Would be nice to have public statement from a public official. Has anybody seen one yet?

  165. I doubt LE would pull this off so they can bug his house.
Why bug his house after all this time. They could have bugged it when they searched his home. I’m pretty sure on one of the searches he was not at home.

  166. I agree cfs and I really doubt we will hear from a public official. maybe they will prove me wrong.

  167. Nah, I didn’t really think they’d bug his house while the warrant was being served.

But this might make court tomorrow a bit more interesting. I expected it to be blah blah blah, Stephen gets the guns.

  168. I can’t imagine prison would be a fun place for a former cop to be, truthisthere.

I can’t imagine prison would be a fun place.

Somebody get Bash out of bed! But first, make her read all her posts … torture. 😉

  169. I doubt even stephen will get his guns.

Yep a felony charge is very serious, I hope LE has their ducks in a row on this. But I’m thinking they don’t if this was infact one of his service weapons.
I can see this blowing up in LE and BBPD’s face.

  170. Freedom, didn’t someone upthread say it was a personal weapon that was also registered as a duty weapon?

Would that mean that DP was responsible for it and not LE/BBPD?

    Maybe it was just opinion.

  171. I just checked with my husband (LE). Even if he is a copy and has a FOID card, if the weapon is illegal, he’s in violation of the law.

Doesn’t mean jack squat was Brodsky says.

  172. I wouldn’t think the Illinois State Police, or the BB Police Department would waste their time, his time or anyone else’s time charging him for something he could slither out of.

    JMHO.

  173. Yes Truth, a felony conviction on a weapons charge brings what? Five years or so? That is pretty bad, but from the details Brodsky gave, it what I was referring to about a whole lot of ado do! Barrel too short on a Swat weapon he used as an officer that were seized while he was still as officer, and have’t been back in his posession since. Brodsky may be sugar coating it, I don’t know. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how really serious it is.

  174. Rescue said: Even if he is a copy and has a FOID card, if the weapon is illegal, he’s in violation of the law.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

What so mean if he is a COPY?? LOL

  175. Well, before I posted, I asked my husband if a cop, who obviously has a FOID card, LOL, has a weapon in his possession that is illegal under Illinois law, is he in violation of the law, and he said yes.

That’s about all I have to say about that.

  176. Rescue, I’m so sorry. I REALLY can’t type anymore it seems. I meant to ask you what DO you mean his is a copy. If I don’t make sense, please ask, okay?

  177. Am I to understand that if he were SWAT, then it would have been okay to have a weapon that didn’t meet regulations, but since he was not SWAT (at the time the weapon was taken), his weapon is not okay?

  178. noway yes I beleive that is what is said. Even at that BBPD should not have let him register an illegal weapon as a duty weapon.
    IMO

  179. It’s real easy, though. Chief McGury of the BB Police Dept, answers emails, or has the media person do it. Someone might want to email him and get a straight answer.

  180. And Brodsky must have said that because DP was a cop, it wasn’t unlawful to have such a weapon … ?

I’ve got to sign off and nap. Back later this afternoon.

  181. LOL, cfs. I’ve a splitting headache, I just got some bad news about someone, and I’m using those as excuses for not typing correctly. Please forgive me.

I was just trying to pass along some information I had about the weapons charge. I think he had a weapon in his possession that was illegal, and Brodsky is trying to pass along his usual bullcrap to the people he thinks are Forest Gumps! In other words, he’s full of it.

    “copy” should have been “cop.”

    Okie dokie?

  182. Freedom, you’re right about BBPD. I wonder if the gun initially met the regulations and at some point the regulations changed. Maybe DP was no longer SWAT at that point so he didn’t think the change applied to him (like all SWAT turn in your weapons that don’t meet the new regulations)?

Enough speculation on my part. I hope someone “official” explains it all.

  183. “I think it’s just all part of the dance”

    Did someone mention DANCE?

Sharon wants 2 dance with somebody

  184. Here is my thoughts. The children go to the Grand Jury next Thursday. I believe, and I could be wrong, that they arrested Drew and the MOMENT he is booked they will also file charges to claim the children by the State. Even if Drew posts bail and gets out tonite…once the charges are filed to make the children the wards of the State, Drew would have to go through another entire court system in order to regain custody of his children. That COULD take invariably months to even get to a court. Hence, the children could literally be wards of the state this afternoon and if that happens, that would make it possible that the STATE can determine if the minor children can testify and it since at the time of their testimony if they are guardians of the state……anything they say CAN be used against Drew in a criminal Trial. If the children are under the guardianship of Drew, at the time of their testimony next week, then that means a situation could occur in which no matter what the children say….it can’t be brought into a criminal trial against Drew.

NOW this is ONLY my opinion and guess as to why this happened. We’ll know for sure if we find out that the State takes custody of the children today.

    Again, ONLY my thoughts.

  185. Thanks, cfs.

I kind of thought things would flare up again, but I figured it’d be Brodsky doing it.

LOL, it looks like LE is doing an “in your face” kind of thing.

  186. Greta/OTR is going to discuss the DP arrest. Gawd, I hope she doesn’t let Brodsky talk. I hate when that happens.

  187. decipher what, cfs? The “in your face” kind of thing?

Maybe they’re just sick and tired of him and the atty with their bull crap, and now they’re screwing around with him, doing their own mind games. Maybe they do have something up their sleeves.

Nonetheless, they would, I think, know what a valid violation of the law is, so I don’t think they’re doing this just to entertain themselves.

Lavonda, the teens testify tomorrow morning according to the schedule. So John Carroll and Anna Doman. You post was interesting to say the least. I never thought about the children being taken. Would they really do that even if he’s out on bond? This charge sounds so……I hate to say it, but petty, for lack of a better word, compared to a warrant for murder that I just wonder. Hmmmmmm.

  190. Freedom, you must have missed the thread about Brodsky saying he had pictures of Cass and Stacy in his files wearing swat clothes and posing with Drew’s gun. Those are his own words from SYM.

  191. Have you guys noticed how there seems to be one group of folks on here in the morning, another in the afternoon, another in the evening, and yet another very late at night? 193. Sorry………I was quoting cfs and forgot to separate my comment – my comment is as follows……

A reporter on CNN Headline News said that the penalty for this felony weapons violation is 3 to 7 years in state prison.

  194. Lavanda- It was mentioned earlier that they were going to the RVJC [River Valley Justice center (Juvie hall) Joliet] for a hearing tomorrow. The Domans, and Carroll will be there so I think it very well could be to do with the court guardianship matter, etc.
Then next week is grand jury for them?

IMO the SA was holding the boys off for last, too (not just DP) I predict they will be the last to testify before a decision is made by GJ, in order not to prolong their grief between testifying and an arrest.

I think LE may be smarter than they’re given credit . . . getting ducks in a row? Or just wishful thinking (in the clouds again).

You made an issue out of it and assumed that was MY name, and, with your snide “LOL” remark, posted a note to me that I should have told them to “take out my name.”

You tried to humiliate me at the time, and it blew back at you.

So don’t start your righteous crap with me. I told you yesterday, I’ll ignore you, you ignore me. Go howl at another moon.!

  205. http://www.mysuburbanlife.com/bolingbrook/peterson/x1902443396/BREAKING-NEWS-Neighbors-Police-officials-at-Drew-Petersons-house

    snipped:

3:06 p.m. Drew Peterson was released from a Will County jail around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Also, a judge pushed back the hearing on Peterson’s guns until 3 p.m. on Thursday. The hearing was originally scheduled for Thursday morning.

2:36 p.m. The hearing on the gun charge is being held Wednesday afternoon, Drew Peterson’s lawyer, Joel Brodsky, said.

2:20 p.m. Drew’s son, Stephen, wrote a check for the $7,500 and Brodsky posted the bail money Wednesday.

  206. “posts like this make you the troll rescue.
why don’t you get over whatever your problem is and stop stiring the pot?
there’s been great discussions out here today but it’s just not good enough for you unless you can control who posts out here? or what is your deal??”

How dare you direct a post like that to me without provocation???

  207. cfs7360 // May 21, 2008 at 3:15 pm

Hmmmmmm.
    ________________________

Well, I’m not saying that is what they are going to do..it was just a thought that crossed my mind because all I could think of if they knew the gun barrel was so short and against regulations, why didn’t they arrest him for weapons charges before? Seems to me there is a REASON they arrested him now. So the first thought I had was what I posted…because I couldn’t think of any other “reason” for them to arrest him on a weapons charge for a short barrel that should have been issued a long time ago? My thoughts could be way off…but I do know one thing………they have a reason for why they arrested him now. I’m sure of it. There is some kind of plan behind it. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. Again, my thoughts could be off. Just an opinion.

  208. chill rescue I did not try to humiliate you. that’s your paranoid self talking once again.
are you denying what you said last night? when it was just you and your buddies?? ofcourse you are! big chicken.
why the post about the bug spray again today?
you need to own your words when called on them if you are going to slam others with you snide bug spray remarks over and over again.
not being righteous at all just calling YOU like you present yourself!!
now wipe your tears and come play with the grown ups.

  209. rescueapet // May 21, 2008 at 3:44 pm

Oh, and cfs – you might want to straighten freedom out yourself, thank you!!!!
    ++++++++++++++++++++++

Freedom, the krytonite and bug spray comment I made to Rescueapet in an earlier post that she was responding to is sort of a joke between us and is not directed personally at you or any one individual on here. An occasional poster comes by and calls people names, and it’s just a joke that we need to get the bug spray. Rescue is one of the best posters on here, and most of us enjoy her posts very much. Unfortunately, we can’t always agree with every poster on here, but we can try to be civil at the very least.

I’m sorry that you didn’t see the humor in out posts, but they were really address fom each other to each other, and not meant for anyone to be offended by them. At least I feel that way, and I don’t doubt for a second that Rescue feels the same way.

Rescue, I’m sorry this got out of hand. You’re still my hero!

  210. looks like you had fun last night rescuepet slamming those that weren’t around now who’s the troll. yep you should stay away during the day if you are that thin skinned
nothing is wrong with me, what is wrong with you?
I even kinda like ya until you start your whinning and slaming others that you call trolls when it is you that is acting like the troll.

I see Nancy Grace is going to cover this tonight too.
    ********************
    Yay! PUNDITS!

  212. Funny stuff, I was just waiting for this to take place.

And yes its common sense that if he is a cop and has an illegal gun, its against the law.

The question is not that, its who owned the gun, and who altered the gun?

If the gun is the property of the BBPD, then they will need to explain how it was altered, and why it was altered.

If the gun belonged to Drew he will have to answer those same questions.

And I agree, this was a lot of nothing.

But Im still have to laugh, I know there are many people out there that are probably crying right now that he wasnt arrested for something more serious.

  213. cfs then rescue needs to use that spray on herself when she’s calling others name. and I fully am aware what the meaning is when rescue starts with her bug spray and kryptonite, it’s almost an everyday occurance!
it’s not bigger I could careless if that’s how she wants to act just don’t try to sell me that others are trolls and she’s not. if they are for their posts then she is for hers.

  214. ABC just said something interesting.

They said the weapons were seized on November 1, 2007, but he didnt retire until mid November 2007….so technically he was still a member of the BBPD and allowed those weapons etc.

  215. freedom – I’m sorry. You make me laugh. Really, you do.

I was absent from the rule days over here when they appointed you chief blog master.

  216. Whew, the house in Bolingbrook is going to be able to get rid of the coffee and cookies. Im sure the media is running over to set up camp and see if Drew has anything to say.

I bet you anything there is someone in that neighborhood that is getting all dolled up for interviews…..hmmmmm!!!!!

  217. Well Freedom, I guess it all depends on how you look at it, but there’s one thing I do know…..Rescue is not a troll! I am not a troll! And as for whoever else that could be a troll on here, I don’t have a clue. Now….can we please put this behind us and get back to discussing these cases? There’s no point in making this an unpleasant place a dissention and driving away the others on there that want to discuss the case. Truce?

  218. For myself, over the last few weeks here I’ve come to enjoy having conversation with almost everyone. There are a couple of people who can push my buttons right away but for the most part they post and run anyway. It’s up to me to try to take a breath, don’t respond and move on.

In general conversation there are digs all around, but in I’ve mostly gotten used to it and try not to take them personally. I realize that I give them myself from time to time.

I actually think this is one of the only places on the net presently where people on all sides of these issues are posting together.

  219. You know, this whole enchilada about the felony gun arrest could *seriously* come back to bite LE in the arse…

Especially if the weapon in question is indeed the same one he was authorized by LE to use as one of his service weapons.

Pretty darn big faux pas if LE is approving illegal personal weapons as A-OK duty weapons for their officers…

  220. “rescueapet // May 21, 2008 at 3:25 pm

LOL, cfs, kryptonite. Makes you turn into Superman, so all the bad words can bounce right off.

The bug spray is to rid the place of the pesky bug.

    chooooo, spray that bug spray.”

Rescue you won’t stop will you?
I notice you picking at my nic while I was “in absentia”. That’s not nice!
Anyway, I’ll take the opportunity that you open the subject to ask you a question:
Is your nic “rescueapet!” your hubby cry for help? (Can’t think to another explanation seeing you playing with that bug spray)

Anyhoo, yes, I have already sent Dayna an email asking her to delete the plethora of posts, so this page will load faster.

  224. Came up with some pretty good queries for JB while I was up, but then I got distracted with all the ALW songs and ended up playing solitaire till it was light enough for me to go outside and finally get my tomatoes into the ground.

    Hakuna matata…

  225. The link I just went to of itssal says, in part:

3:36 p.m.: Drew Peterson was officially charged with unlawful use of a weapon on Wednesday, a Class 3 felony which carries a sentence of up to five years in prison.

    UNLAWFUL USE??????

That’s not unlawful possession. That’s a big difference, isn’t it? Husband not here to ask. Geesh.

  226. Sal, there was Selig press release this morning that said he would be turning himself in. Brodsky also released a statement in advance to the media saying essentially the same thing.

I’m sure Sharon was on the phone as soon as she saw anything, but the media had already been notified.

  227. Rescue, I wondered about the ‘unlawful use’ as well. Wouldn’t that mean he would have had to have fired it for them to charge him with that? Or is just carrying it considered use?

  228. I thought your spelling was too good for you to be drunk!
If you need any help with the insomnia- I got a few hints.

  229. I’m wondering if it’s the gun that was discharged last summer (2007) at DP’s home, which went unreported.

As an officer of the law at the time, not reporting it was a BIG no-no for DP.

  230. Facsmiley- what if he used the weapon in the line of duty, but it was an illegal weapon to own at the time, and that’s why it’s illegal “use” instead of “possession”?

  231. Well, here you have both sides of this issue:

“Brodsky said that Peterson, now retired, was still a police officer when the weapon was seized and that officers are exempt from the length provision of the law.

Will County State’s Attorney spokesman Chuck Pelkie would not say whether police are exempt from the law, but said the charge against Peterson is valid and appropriate.

“An illegal weapon might be put back on the street and we can’t let that happen,” Pelkie said.”

  232. Here’s Selig’s release this morning for anyone who didn’t see it:

“BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (AP) A publicist for Drew Peterson says the former Illinois police sergeant suspected in his wife’s disappearance will turn himself into authorities on a weapons charge. Glenn Selig (SEE’-lihg) says the charge involves a gun seized after Stacy Peterson disappeared in October.”

  233. Hi there, Lizanne61! Nice to meet you!

Read at SYM forum how we made the news there! LOL Embarrassing!

  235. Bash, someone posted a large poart of the conversation that was going on here last night to SYM. All of our posts were on there. I saw it this morning, and just let it slide. No big deal. Somebody thought what was being said here was interesting enough to post over there.

  236. Darn it, I hope Dayna gets my email soon. This page is taking such a darn time to reload.

I owe you all a heartfelt apology for forgetting to play solitaire and not picking my nose last night.

  237. cfs – don’t you find it quite interesting how little time it took today for “IT” to get on here, after the button pushing that went on earlier?

  238. Are they going to the FBI and have this place shut down? At least Gatehouse would get the breaking news first, you know.

  239. “basherette // May 21, 2008 at 4:49 pm

OH- is that what that little bugger was trying to point out?

    B O R I N G …”

True, it’s more fascinating your pathological curiosity about Stacy’s birth control pills! I’m surprised you didn’t ask if drew had a vasectomy!

  240. Bash –

It was a joke from earlier today about Sharon.

This morning before Drew left the house, Fox had a helicopter in the air above the house and you could see Sharon outside, pointing and acting excited.

I was certain she had the Coffee and Cookies waiting for the media to show up so she could entertain them.

But since it’s only been mentioned once so far on the local news here, ABC, in the hour, it seems like the media has moved onto the R Kelly Trial.

  241. Well, I think the question I asked about Stacy’s birth control has alot of merit.

If she indeed ran off with some hot new man, why the hell would she leave her birth control behind? The LAST thing she’d want to deal with is an unplnned pregnancy. Plus, if her bc method is the pill or shots, those are prescription only, so she’d have to go to a clinic for them, and that would be one way to trace her.

    Think much?

  242. Bash –

I dont know anything about walk in clinics, but something like Planned Parenthood, arent those confidental?

Does that fall under HIPPA at all?

  243. She’d still have to have a form of ID to get the bc. No way that some clinic wouldn’t notice it was her, what with all the publicity…

  244. I’m gonna have to read up on Planned Parenthood. I always thought that thing with them was everything is held confidental.

If in fact that is the case, and they did know it was her, I dont think they would turn her in, if the mission is to truly have a safe place for women to go to get medical care.

And if she is in another country, or the Islands, thats a whole new ball game.

  245. Hurm… and medical personnel are required by law to inform teh authorities if any of their clients might pose a danger to themselves or others. One might consider that the fact that her husband could be potentially facing the death penalty might qualify her as being a danger to anothr person- ya think?

I dunno. I just thought it would be a good query.

  246. Well, I suppose that she could go to a low-income or PP health clinic with no id… yeah, it might be feasible. But honestly, can anyone come up with a good reason why she’d leave her bc at home in the first place if she was planning to run off? I couldn’t. That’s why I asked.

  247. They can’t charge him with murder until the GJ indicts him.

I think this arrest was basically LE’s way to make sure that he could no longer have a valid FOID card.

  248. Bash –

I guess we are presuming she was using BC.

I know everytime I go to my Doc, I never have to show an id, and when I go to get my script, I’ve never had to show id either.

I guess for something like BC it wouldnt require too much control, as a narcotic would.

  249. I’m pretty sure HIPAA allows for release of medical records to the police. I don’t remember the exact wording because it’s been about two years since I had to know that. 😉

  250. Acually, that’s not completely accurate-

LE *could* charge him, but then his lawyer would have access to the witnesses, evidence, etc. right away- so i believe LE is working on getting an indictment because then they don’t have to tip their hand to JB and DP.

Makes their case/s stronger, and gives them more time to investigate this way.

  251. Ummm, if they had solid, concrete evidence they could arrest him, with or without the GJ.

If someone walked into this evening with pictures of Drew killing her, he would be arrested immed.

The GJ is the just the easiest way to get someone indicted.

  252. “basherette // May 21, 2008 at 5:03 pm

    Think much?”

“If she indeed ran off with some hot new man, why the hell would she leave her birth control behind? The LAST thing she’d” THINK OF ” is an unplanned pregnancy”; I found your sentence more logical this way. lol BTW, it wouldn’t be her first UNPLANNED pregnancy, would it?
Besides, how long do you think those pill will last her?
Hey Bash, go back to your medical textbooks and read there are some other ways to prevent unplanned pregnancies (like … IUCD… whatever…LOL) Honestly it would be just wise to take your nose out of Drew’s bedroom; will save you lot of embarrassment. (I know you lack this “feature” though)

  253. But once the GJ indicts, all the evidence becomes discovery…so they will know sooner or later what the State has.

I think they are going to the GJ to just stall, while they try to gather more evidence, or find evidence.

I have no doubt the GJ is going to indict him, but whether or not it comes to a conviction that is another story.

  254. That’s IUD, freak.

And I seriously doubt you would know what being “wise” was even if it bit you on your arse whilst singing the Star Spangled Banner backwards in Swahili.

  255. Being dead, I doubt she’ll have much use for birth control. Since JB can’t answer the question honestly, he’ll just deflect with, “I don’t know” or “Drew doesn’t know”.

There’s really no point trying to catch him on a question like this. Just imagine you are him and how you would answer if you were. That’s probably how he’s going to answer.

But I like to see you ask Bash, so I wouldn’t begrudge you doing so. Who knows, I could be wrong.

  256. If I ever go missing I hope they dont follow my pres. pattern, as I get them from Alberta Canada…lol.

  257. If DP doesn’t know what kind of bc his wife used, I’ll fall out of my seat laughing…

Stacy is 24, with 4 minor children- 2 kneebiters and 2 teenagers. NO WAY would she be going anywhere without her bc. That stuff would be more precious to her than the Holy Grail.

At least that’s what I believe.

  258. Well, Facsmiley- though I do believe Stacy is no longer alive, it still would be a major screw up if DP wants to make people think she took off with another man, leaving her 4 children behind, but didn’t take her bc. If she’s so tired of him and the kids, why would she want to take the chance of making more babies?

Bash, your posts prove that the only thing that matches your rudeness is your ignorance.

  260. Granted, Basherette, but I just don’t see any reason for him to say anything other than , “I don’t know if she took it or not.”

Maybe they didn’t use any, maybe they used withdrawal. Maybe they just used condoms.

    *********************************
Could that UNLAWFUL USE be a response to the discharge of Drew’s weapon when he was in the bedroom upstairs and the bullet went through the floor and into the garage below, just missing Stacy? I think a report was made on that situation.

  262. I’ve left the country before, forgetting my pres., and I was organized and very planned.

And let me tell you, its completely wierd trying to get them in a foreign land where they dont speak your native tongue.

God knows what I was given, as I couldnt read the package, but it was damn good stuff….lol.

  263. Nope. I aske the same thing earlier on up. It wa the Glock that was fired in their home. This other gun was one DP owned personally, but was using as a duty gun, with LE’s approval at the time, apparently.

Guess someone forgot to measure the sapsucker, huh?

  264. no, molly, that was a Glock, I believe. I think itssal clarified the use of the term earlier. Just scroll up a bit.

Basherette – Don’t snore to loud, or we’ll have to pay attention to the noise, and I wouldn’t want to do that.

  265. Rescue, your said your hubby is a cop, what is his departments policy regarding their service weapons?

I know the CPD’s is you own your own weapon, such as a 9mm, etc. As for the big guns that Spec. Ops would use, they are all owned by the department and signed out as needed.

  266. I saw a woman on MSNBC (via satellite) talking about this. Her name … Susan ? Filan I think. She was “an expert” but I don’t know at what. 😀

She said that LE did the right thing bringing him up on these charges … Drew as a police officer did not know the law when he was the one who was supposed to be enforcing the law?

She started to say the sentence for this felony, but I didn’t catch it.

  267. LOL, Facsmiley- yeah, i almost lost it when I got to the word “withdrawal”…

    Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!

  268. She also said that based on the statute that she’d read, Drew being a police officer was not a defense for having the weapon in his possession.

(Which I think might have been what JB said and someone discussed upthread).

  269. Susan is an attorney, she used to spend a lot of time on Court TV then went to MSNBC.

The sentence is max 5 years.

  270. Noway, I think departments have different rules, that is why I asked Rescue about her hubbies department.

  271. And I bet you anything, if this was anyone other than Drew, it would be plead down to just about nothing. He doesnt have a record etc.

  272. letthetruth – I asked him and posted earlier about it. Police or not, FOID card or not, if it was an illegal weapon, he’s in violation of the law.

Seems silly that Brodsky would say it’s okay for him to own an illegal gun.

When he was a drug officer, would it have been okay for him to stash illegal drugs to do with what he pleased? Seems the same thing to me. He’s a cop, not the almighty one.

  273. facsmiley // May 21, 2008 at 5:43 pm

Didn’t someone say 3-7 years? But I’m sure that’s the max.
    ***********************************

I mentioned it this morning. A reporter for CNN said that the state law on the felony weapons violation was 3 to 7 years in state prison.

  274. That is what Susan Filan said too. He possessed an illegal weapon (and unlawful use of a weapon includes the possession of) and violated the law.

  275. Susan Filan comment regarding this post:

It took the Illinois Senate less than 2 weeks to pass once it left committee, so I think we’re wrapping it up. BTW, this bill was submitted years ago, Joel- Don’t think it’s all about Drew.

  288. lizanne
hoping your right that the hearsay law isnt just to rope in one man. not sure i ever liked hearsay being put out as fact in a court of law.

  289. Liz –

Dont put too much weight into that. I’ll tell you, if it is passed, it will go into appeal so fast it wont even be funny.

And you have to look at all the clause in it, does it have a grandfather clause? Stuff like that.

And Im sure the Supreme Court will have a ball with it.

  290. TOSami, I think he was released at about 3pm.

Liz, I’m inclined to believe there is a method as well. They’ve just had too long to think about what they want to do, to have made a frivolous charge just to annoy or harrass Peterson. I just have to believe they have a schedule they are following.

J Brodsky was very worried about the timing of the shutting down of the FSP forum and the reasons behind it. He went to the blogs to ask about it and he asked daily if anyone hade heard why. He even tossed out some theories hoping to get a bite. To me it looks as if he thinks an arrest is imminent as well.

  292. I honestly don’t think they will need it, but it’s been mentioned. I’m just a lowly researcher/writer.
But can you appeal legislature? Or do you speak about an appeal if/when hearsay is brought into the actual court and he is henceforth convicted?

  293. Can’t we all just put on our dancin shoes and dance the night away?

If you are all good boys and girls I will teach you a high energy jazz routine set to music of Far From Over.

  294. Sorry, my last post was in reponse to Truth at 6:19.
Everyone’s posting at once, so fast . . . but yet so slow Gatekeeper.

  295. Amanda
it seems these two “fine ladies” (rescue and bash) have a habit of picking at different posters here. Now is you and me. I just read bash had “roughened” here one of the mods at SYM too. For me it’s just fine, I can handle it; it’s just not fair for whatever reason (God knows … 60 years old hate? whatever) to bully people that come your path.
Bash got egg all over her face at SYM when that Mod reminded her of her lady like snoring (attitude)

  296. Rescue- it’s what the monks chant as they whack themselves in the head in “Spamalot”, which of course is based on Monty Python’s Holy Grail film of some years ago.

The *correct* Latin would be as follows:

    Sancte, Sacnte Domine
    Peccavimus ignoti
    Iesu Christe Domine
    Dona eis requiem

    Which translates to:
    Holy, Holy, Lord
    We, ignorant, have sinned.
    Lord Jesus Christ
    Grant them rest.

I happen to loves me some Monty Python.

  297. Speaking of SYM, Joel is cross-posting this all over that site (terrible chat etiquette – oh well):

“Sorry, but as you know Drew was arrested today on a bogus weapons charge. I will try to get to the questions latter this evening. Please bear with me. “

    Sancte, Sacnte ”

These two don’t match Bash. You may wanna rethink one of them…

    “basherette // May 21, 2008 at 6:37 pm

Why you got such a hard on for me, FTOD??”
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

You were just as hard on me too! (and others… looks like)

  299. Liz, sorry for the delay, I was on the phone.

Yes, state laws can be overturned, and brought up to higher courts to see if in fact they are legal.

And it could also be used on appeal, if it sticks, and if Drew were to be arrested and convicted, I’m almost certain they would run to the appeals court about the hearsay law.

They tried it a few years back and it failed. Now you have a States Attorney that is running for Office, and a potential high media case in your area, looks good to try it again.

I’m always leary of those that are seeking an office, and in the months prior to the election trying to do all these wonderful things….lol.

  300. We have danced all day
    We will dance all night

“I doubt LE would pull this off so they can bug his house.
Why bug his house after all this time. They could have bugged it when they searched his home. I’m pretty sure on one of the searches he was not at home.”

Exactly right, no one was home. I think just about everyone saw and can remember the news footage of the officers using the outside keypad to gain access thru the overhead garage door.

They were carrying some gear bags and were in the house for a good amount of time. When they left, it did not appear they they had “found” anything at all.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  305. Just something I want to point out in regards to this post….

    rescueapet // May 21, 2008 at 2:36 pm

“I just checked with my husband (LE). Even if he is a copy and has a FOID card, if the weapon is illegal, he’s in violation of the law.

Doesn’t mean jack squat was Brodsky says.”

There ARE items a LEO can possess which are illegal for civilians to possess.

A good example is high-capacity magazines. When a pistol is purchased, there are typically a maximum (civilian) 10-round capacity and cops can get high capapcity.

  306. I’m wondering why BBPD would approve an illegal weapon owned by one of their officers to use as a duty firearm, and think nothing’s wrong with that, yet they arrest him now, as a BBPD retiree, for still owning that same gun?

Perhaps it was ok as long as he was an active duty BBPD seargent, but once he retired, the gun should have been confiscated?

Was the gun modified (barrel shortened) *after* DP’s retirement from BBPD, or before?

When DP bought the weapon, was it already in a condition that would be considered illegal at that time?

Was the gun legal while he used it for work at BBPD, but then modified to its currently illegal condition after his retirement?
