  1. Bash, what do you think? Is this arrest and isolated thing or part of something bigger that we’ll see play out in the next few days?

  2. I’m glad Pam confirmed the “hearsay” quote from yesterday. Took a load off my shoulders, for sure!

    Anything new on Greta?

  3. You know, I just can’t tell.

Honestly, it seems to me at times that JB is setting things in place so that if DP is convicted, he can request a re-trial on the basis of the incompetency of his legal counsel.

    Reverse psychology?

  4. No. A lot of cross-talking pundits.
I admit it was funny when Drew triggered his car alarms. They should know better to set up their remote shoots directly in front of his house.

And, I did in the end feel sorry for Sharon. She looked exhausted and tried to talk about her flower garden and waved her arm towards it. She came off as pathetic and played out. I felt ashamed of Greta for draggin her out there. What could she know about the gun?

  5. Beats the hell out of me. Ratings are more important than humanity, seems like.

What’s up with the car alarms? I don’t watch TV, so I know nothing about that…

  6. Ric Mims didn’t come off so well either. He hasn’t talked to Drew since early November. He looked very shifty-eyed and uncomfortable.

I have to question the whole remote-shoot at Drew’s house on a Wednesday night. I kept thinking about the neighbors and how they probably had gotten used to their peace and quiet again and then….

Even Greta seemed a bit apologetic about disrupting things on a school night.

  7. Greta’s reporter was positioned directly in front of the Peterson house. The car and the SUV wrere parked in the driveway. As soon as she began to speak, the car’s alarm started to blare.

Sharon then, was interviewed n the same spot. As soon as she started, BOTH vehicles began to blare.

It wouldn’t have been nearly as pathetic if there had been a good reason to be interviewing at precisely that spot. But since there wasn’t, you kind of had to hand it to Drew for finding a way to annoy them.

  8. I thnk the gun charge is perfectly legit. If he had illegal weapons then he needs to answer for it. I just don’t see the need for lighting up the cul de sac and waking the neighbors.

  9. I dunno. I think alot of the problem is that this case became common knowledge so fast, and so sordid, that people felt lik they were reading a mystery book or watching a murder mystery movie. They think they’ve got all the “facts”, so now they want it tied up all nice and neat with people found, poeple saved, people martyred and the baddies lynched.

But it just doesn’t work that way. Not in real life.

  10. Bash – about the incompetent representation, I’d agree except that I think Drew actually believes he is being well served.

  11. Well, LE had a reason for hanging onto that gun for so long. They prolly could have charged him right after they siezed it, but kept it up their sleeve like an emergency ace when they really needed one. Guess they didn’t need one till now…

And they want heroes and villains, and life just isn’t like that. I could never bash Stacy, even knowing every questionable thing about her, becuase the truth is she was denied her essential human rights. She was taken from those kids with no trial, no jury, no justice.

Ther was a brief shot tonight of Drew going back in the house, followed by his 15-year old son and my heart just ached for that kid. That poor boy deserves none of what has happened to him, nor what is going to happen.

  13. Well, the only other option is that they’re gonna gives us a big ol’ song and dance circus routine, and then DP’s gonna pull a disappearing act before he gets indicted for the murder/s.

Since he turned himself in for this gun charge, JB could argue that he’s NOT likely to abscond and the court to buy it. Of course, I honestly believe that HE doesn’t think he’s ever gonna serve time for murder. That would be “beneath” him- so if the “worst” (in his eyes) DOES happen, I bet my sweet bippy he’s gonna be skedadling with more than $25,000, a passport and his bikini as fast as his feet can take him…

  14. letthetruthbefree – Just my opinion, but after reading most of the post’s here…. I’m just guessing this might very well be “the man” himself!!!

    I’m just saying….

  15. gatorbabe, I guess you could always check to see if that person was posting between noon and three today. If so, your theory is out the window…

  16. You know what’s so funny (well, in a sick way)- DP keeps saying she ran off and left the kids. But really, I think that’s exactly what HE would do, and will do, without even batting a lash. I can’t see Stacy leaving her children, but for some reason, I have no problem believing that he would.

Like he’s said before- his kids will be taken care of, so he’s ready for whatever comes. Well, in his case, I think it’s gonna be more like whomever GOES- as in HIM.

  17. The gun charge was just made because the police dept had waited to play this card on the last day before the hearing to determine if Drew gets his guns back.

Just a thorn in Drews side and a delay tactic for the ongoing investigation.

I could care less if he were arrested for jay-walking!! An arrest is a bruise to his over-inflated ego!!!

  18. Hi everyone! Just found this site and was happy to see some of you that I recognize. I was AndU or As4Me on the FSP site (I use both nics and I couldn’t remember which I used over there).

  19. i would bet no guns. as far as cass being auctioned off it was 10k that was paid to stop it. this 10k was to go to the reward offer but last i knew the reward still said the original 25k that pam’s company or pam put up. so i doubt if any money was made off that

  20. Someone said that Judge White issued the warrant. Last I heard, he was the judge for “drug court”. Maybe he got moved.

I would like to believe that they would release all of the “street legal” guns to the son, with some pretty hefty conditions.

  21. It was Judge Stephen White Kimmer. There was a copy of the warrant on America’s Most Wanted’s website.

    Morning All!

    Morning All!

  23. Chief McGury’s email to On The Record, Fox News, concerning the gun charge.

We believe Drew Peterson purchased that weapon, an AR15, from a third party. Drew Peterson was not authorized to carry that weapon and it is not registered with the BBPD. No PO is authorized to carry such a weapon, however a SWAT team member is, but that weapon must be brought in and inspected by our firearms expert to make sure it doesn’t violate any state or federal laws. The serial number must be recorded and they must pass a qualifications test. Mr. Peterson did none of these. I don’t doubt it. I just found it odd. He’s a very good man.

  25. Good Morning, what does today have in store for us?

Anyone know what time the hearing with the guns is today?

  26. I really think something is happening, they’ve had those guns all this time and I would bet they had them measured long before now. They also knew that he would post bond, so that makes me wonder if it wasn’t all about getting him charged with a felony and maybe getting him off the streets while they do something positive in the lives of the children and be given some ‘at ease’ time to work on the case without wondering what he’s doing, and with whom.

  27. Do you mean getting Drew off the streets for awhile?

And who is going to do something positive in the lives of the children?

  28. This is like the guy who called the cops because someone stole his dope, the cops find the guy and the dope and then ask him is that your dope that was stolen and the guy says yes and they arrest him.

Is that your gun Drew? Yes it is and I want it!!

I wonder where Drew bought this illegal gun at?

  29. The timing of this warrant was perfect. The day before the hearing. Well, now that he’s been charged with a felony, they have a valid reason to revoke the FOID, and insure DP doesn’t get the guns.

I don’t think the judge was going to return them to DP anyway, but I was hoping they’d reveal why they revoked the FOID prior to yesterday.

I see no reason why the guns (the street legals) can’t go to his son. They should have them measured by now.

Please understand that I in no way am interested in or soliciting your answers. I’m only pasting this here for your information.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Facs, what site was this on? His entire paragraph is nothing but a contradiction!! He’s not interested in or soliciting for answers, but he wants the information????? How the heck is he going to get the information unless people answer the questions??

I’d like to visit this particular site and read what people have posted in response to this. Thanks!!

  32. The thing that bugs me about the gun is that they knew from the day they took the guns (around November 2) that this gun was illegal.

They could have charged him then, and I believe, he would not have been able to receive his pension.

  33. And I was reading through the posts from last night up until now … please tell me it’s not true that they misspelled Stacy’s name on the banner for the “Funraiser” …

Okay … for you people who say spelling doesn’t matter as long as the message gets across … I disagree! Spelling really does matter.

  34. I can’t figure out what Brodsky is up to with posting his own questions? Maybe his paralegal quit … and he hasn’t had time to hire anyone else.

  35. Something in my guts tells me this is going to come back to bite LE in the arse.

We are 6 1/2 months into this, and they are just now discovering it’s illegal? Is it possible that nobody even at the ISP realized it was illegal, until one person came along and saw it, and noticed it had been altered?

And to the Chief, no worries, Im certain all your files will be subpoenaed.

  36. Noway…yes the banner was misspelled.

And that is me saying spelling doesnt matter, for the most part, as I’m not the world’s greatest speller. But I do know that they have proofreader for that reason.

I can give them one mistake on the spelling of her name, I can see an “e” being put in by mistake…but Sharon could have easily said, sorry for the printing error, we are fixing that etc…no she choice to cover it up with her finger instead.

  37. letthetruthbefree, they are NOT just now discovering it was illegal. They just wanted to prevent him from getting his guns back today. There is an article on this site that states this.

  38. So basically they are just screwing with him then?

What does that say about what they have as far as evidence? It screams to me, they dont have any, so they are waiting to just mess around with him a little bit.

  39. Noway, I really think charging a murder suspect with a lesser crime has it’s pittfalls. Things can come out in a trial the prosecution does not want to come out yet and it takes energy and time away from the murder investigation and preparing for charges.

Drew has pushed this issue and they have no choice but to charge.

  40. letthetruthbefree // May 22, 2008 at 9:47 am

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++
It may scream to you that they don’t, but it tells me that they are waiting for the GJ to conclude before they arrest him for anything else, provided there is enough evidence to do so.

  41. No, they knew from the beginning it was illegal. The first determination was that they would not charge him for it … but as the investigation progressed, they changed their minds. They just held that card until the last possible moment.

I saw that Joel is sure the charge will be “thrown out” … and below is his answer to my question: Why would Drew Peterson be responsible for a duty weapon not meeting the regulations? Is it because it was a personal weapon that was also registered as a duty weapon?

Joel’s response: Actually most officer duty weapons are purchased by the individual officers and are there personal property, but they must conform to the regualtions of the police force and be registered with the police department as the duty weapon. The gun is question was drews alternate swat duty weapon purchsed by him and was registered as such with the bolingbrook pd.

    – – – – –
And that’s the rub … I saw a statement being red by a reporter, and they had the words on the screen … BBPD has ‘no record’ of the gun being registered with them …

  42. And just for the record, I’m NOT a NRA card carrying member, weapons scare me.

But I do believe, these are his possessions, and they have had more then enough time to do with them what they have to do, now its time to give them to his son for safe keeping.

  43. letthe, Brodsky and Drew are screwing with the people of Illinois, they are the ones demanding that they get this illegal weapon back.

  44. Make no mistake about it, the GJ is going to indict him.

But will the charges stick is the main question.

Just because he has been charged, that means nothing, until the verdict is read, and we have all seen the evidence.

  45. According to Joel, once they arrest Drew, it would give Drew the right to a “quick review” (30 days) and they would get a chance to talk with all those witnesses.

And, if they want to charge him with a *felony* it’s my understanding that the Grand Jury has to indict on that, nobody else.

IMO that is why they are waiting …

  46. Truth, you didnt even know it was an illegal gun until yesterday.

So what did you say before yesterday in regards to him getting his gun back? On Monday, before you knew it was illegal, it was ok with you that he got them back then?

  47. Hi Grandma. SO good to see you again. You were the one who always had a beautiful prayer for everyone. I am heading out the door right now…sure hope to see you continue to post here.

  48. Noway, Im not sure about that, because they said yesterday charge was a felony, and that was an arrest warrant issued by the Judge, with the ISP going before him.

  49. So it’s only illegal if it wasn’t registered. The gun itself, and because Drew was SWAT, made it okay.

By Brodsky’s own words, if there isn’t a receipt or paperwork then I guess the gun wasn’t registered?

Okay, Brodsky was talking about a blue barrel, but I guess if we are to believe Brodsky regarding the barrel, the same would apply to the gun?

Hopefully, Drew kept that paperwork (I’m assuming that you get something when you register a personal weapon with a PD, but correct me if I’m wrong).

  50. Oh to be a fly in Brodsky’s office when the discovery starts coming in.

I bet there is some really good stuff there to see.

  51. letthetruth, I meant that in the case of Stacy Peterson and Kathleen Savio, since that is what the grand jury is meeting on.

The grand jury isn’t meeting on the gun charge.

    Does that make sense?

  52. Noway, I dont know about how they go about registering a weapon with the department.

This will be interesting to see it play out though.

And if I were every other cop on the BBPD, I would make sure my crap was in order, because everything is going to be called into question now.

I can’t figure out what Brodsky is up to with posting his own questions? Maybe his paralegal quit … and he hasn’t had time to hire anyone else.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++
Noway, I don’t guess Facs is hanging around at the moment. Do you know where Brodsky posted his request for information? Was it SYM? If so, I haven’t been able to locate it on there. And no, I can’t believe it either, but there are a LOT of things he does and says that I have a hard time reasoning with.

  54. And you know how we have discussed the timeline in regards to Cassandra reporting her missing, and people get really touchy about that, well imagine her on the witness stand. That is all going to be brought out, and its not going to be pretty at all.

See Im already thinking trial, and how juicy its going to be….lol.

  55. Yes, Brodsky posted on SYM. So far only about 5 responses I think. I read the questions and at the time there were a couple of responses … haven’t gone back.

Seems to me that Brodsky is having the public work for him for free. 🙂

  56. He sure is. He is getting a feel of what people are thinking.

Like him or not, people are falling right into his palms, and giving him everything he wants…:)

  57. “fascinating, people see you. Not many know all about you. Your “personas” I mean.
    It is beyond old.”

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Amanda, I agree with this one thing you wrote in your last night “message” to me.
True, not many people know all about me and even those that think they know me, what they know it may not be quite accurate. (Hi Mona! There is something left you didn’t tell us? LOL)

The rest of your statement, well not a great job at redeeming yourself as being a Mod on a forum that did so many “dirty tricks”. I said then and I’m saying it now: Amanda, you hanging on the fence was the downfall of kimmer’s forum. Those bad were bad beyond repairs so not much to do about. But you, you could have saved it, only if you would have gotten down that fence on the good side.
Anyway, this is past; it would do now a lot of good to your “persona” to choose a side and get off that fence once and for all. Not hard feelings here Amanda, I trust you can make the right decision. You have a good side I always liked.

  58. noway406 // May 22, 2008 at 10:00 am

Seems to me that Brodsky is having the public work for him for free.
    +++++++++++++++++++++
Maybe it’s because he’s working pro bono too, you think??

  59. Letthe, trust me on this, from very early on I came to believe Drew murdered both of his wifes. I am not talking presumed innocent in a court of law, I don’t have to because I am not any part of a court except the one of public opinion.

Anything the police can do within the law to make Drew Peterson have a bad day is fine with me.

The fact that they did not charge him until he had them pushed into a corner speaks volumes to me that they have plenty of evidence and are planning to charge him with at least the two murders of his wifes. I would not be surprised though if those turn out to be just a drop in the bucket.

  60. letthetruth, since we believe LE has phone records, they must have Cass’s … and I’m sure that her phone records must have backed up her story or the whole point of Stacy “not leaving the house on her own” probably would not have been stated by ISP, don’t you think?

And I can most certainly see her fearing the worst and then calling X to see if she heard from Stacy; then fearing the worst again and trying Y and Z …

The logical person for her to call during this time would have been Sharon. Stacy could have just been at Sharon’s and not answered her phone … so who she called might be as important as when she called them.

The same is true about Drew at the time of Kathleen’s death. If you go to drop the kids off at your ex-wife’s and she is not answering the door, you’re going to call her … and leave a message (of course if he left a message don’t know if anyone listened back then). If you try several times (esp. since they had a history of calling cops when one or other was late), you would call her friends (according to Drew, her family wasn’t around much) and her neighbors.

So … did Drew ask any neighbors whether they’d seen Kathleen that weekend?

It’s all going to be very interesting.

  62. Maybe I was wrong in a previous post … if there is no receipt showing the gun was registered it means the gun never existed. BrodskyLogic.

    🙂

  63. Noway, yes, I agree. Its going to be interesting, very interesting.

And as far as the ISP statement about her “not leaving on her own,” I can take that as a scare tactic by the ISP. LE is famous for making statements that are really not the truth, in hopes of it scaring someone into talking.

Now whether that is the case or not, I dont know.

The phone records are going to be so interesting to see, of everyone involved.

And when you mentioned she should have called Sharon, I couldnt agree more. But on the flip the side, that makes me question how good of friends Stacy and Sharon really were.

I have neighbors I talk to almost everyday, just friendly neighborhood chat. My family that lives away knows about them, has met them when they are here, but wouldnt have their phone numbers, or even their last name for that matter.

So lets say she didnt know Sharons phone number, she didnt live that far away to not take a drive over to Sharons and ask her, have you seen Stacy today? Sharons seems the type had Cassandra spoken with her, would have gotten the police involved instantly.

So many angle…I’ll tell you, get the dry erase board ready for this one….lol.

  71. I think they were asking for all the guns to be turned over to Stephen.

Is it possible that Drew, honestly, didnt know that gun was illegal? Could it be possible that since he had it, and according to him, it passed the standards for the BPPD, and he presumed it would pass the test for any other department?

Its one gun, in a whole lot of them.

I say fine, dont give him that gun, its illegal, but give him the rest of them.

  72. IMO
    Reporters will talk to ANYONE.

And “official” source is always better … but ANYONE remotely connected to the case is better than nobody.

  73. Noway –

I think what you are saying is right, but why not just hold a press conference and get it out to everyone.

My mind tells me he is looking for a side job after the Chief thing ends, and he would love to be a commentator on a news show, perhaps? lol

  74. I’ll be interested to see what happens in court this afternoon. I’m not sure that the judge could make some connection Drew having *one* illegal gun (because that is really yet to be determined) and Stephen getting the rest of the guns.

And it’s grand jury day … and probate court day … when it rains, it pours.

  78. I sat on a jury once in DuPage County, and I can remember just looking at the Judge and knowing I knew his face from somewhere but couldnt place it. That evening I asked the baliff why the Judge looked familar and it was because he was the Campaign Chairman for a local candidate that was running for state office.

And to be honest with you, I cant even remember his name today. But if I saw it, Im sure I could recongize it.

I say fine, dont give him that gun, its illegal, but give him the rest of them.
    ***********************

Unfortunately, owning a gun like that is a felony. If they acknowledge that there’s something not kosher about that gun and act upon it in some way then they have to charge him – otherwise they aren’t doing their jobs. See?

You could stick to the drug analogy someone made further up the thread. Say they found a bag of cocaine during their search. They can’t just not give him the cocaine back. If they are going to use the fact that he has the coke…then they have to charge him.

  80. As for Brodsky going to SYM in an attempt to do a public opinion poll, I’ll point out again that a register-only forum with such a high percentage of pro-Drew members is in no way going to get him the cross-section or number of responses that he would to draw any kind of meangful conclusion.

    Good try, but useless.

    A pundit!? I do love a good pundit. 🙂

  82. As far as Probate Court this morning, no decision made. And the Savio family attorney even said its seems as if Drew is not misusing the funds from the estate.

Brodsky presented to the reporter a copy of the Bolingbrook PD guideline for approved weapons etc, and according to that document, Drews’s weapon was legal.

    Gun hearing this afternoon.

  83. From another site, Joel Brodsky wants to know:

    (1) If there was a “no body” prosecution of Drew for the murder of Stacy, what would you consider to be the one essential piece of evidence you would need to convict, and without which you would acquit?

    (2) If Drew was charged with the murder of Kathleen Savio, and you believed her death was a homicide, and a lot of the so called hearsay statements were allowed into evidence, but the State could not produce any evidence that would put Drew inside Kathleen’s home at or near the time of her death would you convict him beyond a reasonable doubt.

These two Questions Are from Joel Brodsky Please Answer each question specificaly and make sure you make reference to the question in qoutes so it can be read in a clear fashion
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This post is for anyone interested that hasn’t seen these questions that Brodsky is asking. I found them intriguing. Others may not. They were also posted in yesterday’s thread, so I know some of you have actually seen them and responded to them, as well as people on the site where they were posted.

My opinion is that’s Brodsky is getting concerned after months of saying that Drew will NOT be charged in these cases. Now, he must be thinking they’re forthcoming. Personally, I don’t know how he could ask these questions and think that people could just come up with an impromptu answer without hearing all of the evidence and arguments in a court of law. HIs reasoning must be, in my opinion, is that if people answer these questions honestly, as he has posed them, then Drew will more than likely be aquitted it these cases go to trial. He has a point, to a point, but jurors will hear anything and everything in court, and people on a blog more than likely (at least I hope not) won’t be sitting on the jury listening to real testimony. It appears to me as though he’s trying to predict the future by posting questions such as these, but he needs to focus more on what HE is going to say to convince the jury that Drew is innocent beyond a reasonable doubt……not trying to obtain the opinions of bloggers. They certainly won’t help to secure Drew’s acquittal. I’m sure others will disagree, but this is just my opinion. What do you guys think??

  84. Oh and the local reporter said they have tried to contact the BPPD Chief for a comment, and he has not returned their calls….thats because he is too busy on National Fox….lol.

Fac, a member here that is Pro Stacy, is the one asking the most questions over there.
    ****************

I was referring to Brodsky’s two hypothetical questions.

  86. CFS, I think its a double edge sword.

The internet is used in many ways.

He knows that we all discuss this case, without knowing really diddly about the real evidence, so he is just fishing for our thoughts.

On SYM, there are pro stacy and pro drew posters on that website.

  87. It appears to me as though he’s trying to predict the future by posting questions such as these, but he needs to focus more on what HE is going to say to convince the jury that Drew is innocent beyond a reasonable doubt……not trying to obtain the opinions of bloggers. ************************

I think there aer certain unknowns that he very much would like the answer to and those are the questions he tosses out on blogs.

He asked repeatedly about the dissolution of the FSP forum, because it was making him nervous, and I agree that these new questions show that he is preparing for Drew to be charged.

I think that in a different arena, the answers might be useful to him in preparing a case, but he’s not going to get enough answers, or a big enough cross-section of opinion on SYM.

  88. Facs, I know you’re the one that posted this yesterday, and I’m glad you did because I was unaware of it. Was trying to find you earlier to see where they came from but Noway helped me out. It’s just mind boggling to me some of the strategies Brodsky uses, of tried to use, and as someone said earlier, we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out.

  89. So we have about a week and half before Yelton is released from Prison, and guesses on whether or not we will hear from him regarding his sisters disappearance?

  90. So…which one of you sent Drew the gift basket?

I’d like to send something to his poor kids every time the media arrives on their doorstep, but…that would be creepy.

  91. Just reading. When I saw the gun issue being discussed, it was as my husband answered yesterday when I asked him about the illegal gun. Said it makes no difference if he’s a cop, was a cop, if the gun was illegal, he’s in violation of the law. I guess that means every other cop would be in violation, just not DP, huh? As long as he has Brodsky as his atty and says it’s so.

    Oh, well.

    Hi back at everyone.

  94. Rescue, please dont take this as Im bashing you, but can you honestly and truly tell me your hubby has never done anything that is against the departments rules and regulations?

Yes, and America voted…she was in the bottom three this week.

No, of course there wasn’t. I asked people that I trusted and still do.

  107. In re to when the gun was modified, Jb answered me at SYM last night that it came that way (police issue, private purchase) and that it is meant to be used with a suppressor (which is true, to prevent vapor blow out), which makes the length then legal. But the law is about the length without it in civ hands. Also it means that he can easily attach a silencer instead (online $500 to POs).
Against the law for son to have, most definitely.
Yes, they could have done this earlier, and just returned the remaining guns to Jr., but they are likely just eking out time like said above.
But the chief also said he didn’t register it with the BBPD at any time, so maybe their p/w is in order.

  108. I’d be interested to see the paperwork. Wasn’t there something said about once he’s charged with a crime, the defense gets ALL the evidence the prosecution has…discovery?

  109. I think the gun charge is separate. Like I said, I hope Drew saved his copy of the paperwork, assuming they give you something when you register your personal weapon LE.

Of course, if he has no receipt and LE has no receipt, the gun does not exist and never existed.

    _________
When the gun was seized, it was NOT in civilian hands. It belonged to Drew who at that time was still a member of BBPD. According to JB this was allowed for Drew’s SWAT position.

If I am not mistaken, isn’t the Chief at BBPD fairly new? Drew has been on the force a long time. Could it be that it was approved by someone prior to the new Chief?

  113. itssal, I don’t know when Drew became SWAT, but if the gun was registered, it would have been before this Chief of Police was there because he is not the same one who was chief when Kathleen was killed.

Imagine if this is all because a piece of paperwork was misfiled. Under D for Drew instead of P for Peterson?

I sure hope they really checked their files. And rechecked them.

  114. The proper paperwork may not even be at the PD. It may be filed in his HR file which I’m sure is at another site…since he was considered a city employee. Also, with all that time passed…records could have been purged and stored elsewhere.

Anyways, long story short, the board war somebody wants to restart is dead.

  141. Hi everyone. I just found this forum a couple of days ago and have been reading. This is my first post.

From what I have heard in the media is that 1. the gun was siezed as one of the 11 guns taken during one of the search warrants. 2. The gun was NOT a BBPD issue. 3. The gun is purchased with a longer barrel and was modified with an illegal barrel. According to law enforcement that shorter barrel is for easier concealment and is illegal no matter who has it. 4. The gun was not registered.

What I have read before is that some police will have what they call a throw-away gun (one that can not be traced) especially if they do any undercover work. This gun of Drews could have been something he picked up from a drug bust or anything.

My opinion about the evidence and Grand Jury is that a GJ is called to duty like a regular jury except they don’t just hear one case. Their term is for one year and they review many cases to determine if there is sufficient evidence to bring charges. If they don’t believe the charges are there they will say so quickly and get on with the next case. With that knowledge, I would say GJ must have some evidence that would keep it interested in gaining more information. So you could say that so far nothing has come up that would absolutely clear a suspect.

When the GJ finishes its investigation and only then will charges be brought. Now, it is my opinion that LE brought the charges on the gun at this particular time because 1. A judge was about to turn the guns over to Drew or Stephen, and/or 2. With Drew now bonded out, it is unlikely he can go on an “extended vacation” anywhere. Especially with the GJ term about to end this month and a recommendation made.

As for Joel phishing for information, I think he is planning his defense based on what Drew’s biggest critics have to say. You can bet that whatever you feel strongly about is what Joel will focus on explaining in the trial.

Please let me know if I have overlooked anything. I don’t want to offend anyone. Our laws say we are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but most of us will not be a part of that law and have formed our own opinions based on what we hear.

  142. Amanda and Kimmer, as a favor to those of us who aren’t involved in the disagreement, could you invite this person over to your board to discuss?

  143. Sorry, I meant to say in the last paragraph that most of us will not be a part of that court of law.

It is curious that the Chief would make that statement about a third party unless it has been linked to something else. Of course, the LE could have another reason to bring that third party theory up. My first thought would be that if it was not registered, they know if was in the hands of someone else. I would bet they ran ballistics on those guns and checked to see if they matched any other crimes.

  162. Pearlsgirl,
    Welcome!

I agree with your post whole-heartedly! I think the grand jury would have dismissed this case within weeks if there wasn’t some evidence to consider.

I also feel that this case has many facets. Just knowing who’s been called to testify before the grand jury gives us a glimpse into what the grand jury is looking into, and some of those witnesses have been a surprise.

Amanda and Kimmer, as a favor to those of us who aren’t involved in the disagreement, could you invite this person over to your board to discuss?

We have tried to. Yet a hit and run poster feels the need to try and cause drama. It’s old and we will stick up for ourselves.

  164. LOL!!! I can just see the message now:

WARNING! YOU ARE ABOUT TO MAKE A STUPID POST! PEOPLE WILL POINT THEIR FINGERS IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION AND LAUGH UNCONTROLABLY. FOR G*D’S SAKE, GET OUT NOW WHILE YOU STILL HAVE SOME DIGNITY!

Yawn. Who cares. You post what you want to, and I will do the same.

Case closed. Stop calling me ugly, I am beautiful inside and out, and it is my anniversary today!

I agree! Knowing who the GJ is calling can give us some clues into what they are focusing on. Has anyone heard anything about Kathy’s sons testifying or has that been nixed?

  167. LOL Bash!

I guess what I really need is a hand to stop me from clicking on the Submit button. Because I’d read that message and think “Oh, no they won’t. This makes sense.”

  168. Haven’t heard squat. Well, ok, maybe a little squat.

The Savio family asked the judge to continue the hearing regarding DP’s appeal of the decision the judge previously made to reopen Kathleen’s estate, nixing DP’s uncle as executor in favor of Kathleen’s sister and Dad. They want/need more time to gather stuff together to properly defend themselves against the DP appeal.

Also, the gun hearing (for the return of the weapns/transfer of ownership of them) was supposed to be held this morning at 10, but was pushed to this afternoon. I’m assuming that JB asked for that, because of the arrest circus yesterday.

That’s all the squat I know.

Rumor has it that the two teenage boys are to testify next Thursday, May 29th. I’ve also heard that the 29ths is probably the last day of grand jury hearings.

I expect that we will soon have a grand jury indictment, perhaps within the next few weeks.

  170. Drew’s case (who gets the guns) is for 3 P.M.

The case regarding his arrest yesterday will be heard at end of month.

A little more diddley. Not so much squat.

  171. LOL guess it’s after 3 there now. So Drew’s case is being heard now.

I had heard/read that the boys would be testifying next Thursday too. I believe someone thought they would wait so the boys would be out of school.

I think they should give the boys the opportunity to go without reporters there, sneaky like. Sorry Danya, et al.

  172. I hope LE does too. Those poor boys don’t need to be given any more grief- they’ve already had enough to knock over an elephant, and they’re just kids! I hope the press remembers that….

  173. Sorry- for those who haven’t seen it yet, da judge gave 9 of the 11 guns seized to Stephen. Hence my question about the other two. Well, one, since one of ’em is most likely the one that landed him in all that hot water yesterday…

    Have to agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  175. Luvpups…this issue has died down. Why the need to bring it back up and stir it all up again? By complaining about it, you are adding to the clutter.

  176. I don’t think they make it public who is going to testify before the GJ.

What I had heard/read was just other forublogsiters having their say.

Let’s see, that was posted at 2:19 today & it is now 3:46 my time.

It has died down but it will be back. Have seen it over & over & over for weeks here. ENOUGH!

  178. FOR BASHETTE…….

1 was the AR-15 he was now charged for.

I believe 2 were BPD issued firearms that were returned to the BPD. (Sig pistol and H&K).

The rest to Stephen I guess.

But even then my math doesn’t add up to 9 being turned over to Steve.

My math comes up with 8.

But I have to voice my disagreement with a few things.

    1. The revocation of the FOID in the first place.

    2. That ISP has to answer to no one as to a reason for their revocation. (reeks of communism)

Food for thought………I have heard nothing of Craig Stebic having his FOID revoked.

Neither case has any evidence known to the public that a weapon played any part in the disappearance of either Stacy or Lisa.

Now if ISP wants to do their job……………Alderman Mell in Chicago failed to re-register his firearms. He is now currently & knowingly in violation of laws. He is in illegal possession of many firearms = UUW (unlawful use of a weapon).

Can the law-abidding citizens of this state expect a warrant for Alderman Mell anytime soon.

Now where are those hypocrite labels?

It’s true TheOriginalSami. It was posted in this very forum earlier today.

i just saw. sorry for your troubles. that wasnt right. on another note lavanda. i met the dog team i think u talked about in an earlier post.

  181. Lavanda, I hope you can prosecute this person, this is happening to much on these forums.

People out for revenge & playing with fire.

  182. Lavanda, I remember not too long ago, that young girl who killed herself because she thought she was talking to a boyfriend on the internet & he rejected her.

The internet can be a great thing but people are finding out it can be your worst nitemare.

There is no reason for someone to post your personal info, other than hatefulness & jealousy!

    ____________

Bash, I don’t know but my guess is the two they kept are the short barrelled one, and my guess is that the other one “may” be the gun that Drew shot through the floor of the home; or the one that Drew say’s Stacy shot through the floor of the home. Depends on what one believes. That is my guess as to the two they retained. I could be wrong. Only my opinion.

  184. ON fox news GEROLDO said that they will not give the guns to steve drews son, it is a continuation on the court for the next couple of days and also he said that when the grand jury finish drew will be indited for kathleen’s death july or august this he said was a police source.. it was said 5mins ago

  185. Hey Bash, glad you got some sleep last night. Every few nights you gotta give in.

About the guns, I heard on the (local) ch 7 abc news that the colt ar-15 and his sevice revolver were retained.

I also heard JB say before court that Drew mis-spending the kids money (once managed by carroll) was at question. Asked if Drew had gone on a spending spree, JB said ‘not with that money he didn’t, he used it to take care of the boys needs.’ Do they (savios, SA) think he was maybe living off the kids’ money, and spending his pay on the toys, ie?

  186. Lavanda, the news article stated the other was his service gun. Whether it was the one that was fired in the house is unknown. I would imagine the AR 15 will become scrap metal after the hearing if it is found to be illegal as alleged.

  187. Sorry Lisanne61. I was busy typing my response to the gun question while you were posting yours.

  188. This just in:

All store in Bolingbrook are runing extremely low on Kleenex, if you are in need, go now and get it before it sells out.

    What an interesting afternoon!!!!

I would think there would be some controls on the boy’s money. I thought Drew had said it was in a trust. They would mean he would have to get permission for each withdrawal. However, when my son’s father died, I had to go to court and become the legal guardian of their estate and had access to their money. I only had to file a report annually on how the money was spent. That was my state. Don’t know about IL, but we also don’t know how the money was handled. Usually insurance agencies want the guardianship papers AND the person to be bonded. Our insurance company kept the funds in investments and gave me a checkbook.
