  1. Rescue, here is another thing, If drew was in Rosettos area when he answered Cassandras call he could always say he was up there hunting for Stacy. If the cops checked the phone and tower records.

  2. I think this is the guy with Kim in the courthouse picture.

Just add an h in front

  3. Iknow – that’s a good point. But, whatever he told LE in the beginning is what he’s going to have to live with now. Like it or not.

Don’t you guys think it’s been too quiet lately? I mean, no showboating for days from the “boys” just isn’t something we’re used to.

I think it may just be that it’s quiet before the storm!

  4. I think Brodsky is trying to follow his formulaic approach the media, “no interviews after charges have been made”.

That doesn’t keep him from taking digs at potential witnesses in forums or fishing for legal advice, but with Drew under wraps, it is a little dull.

I’m certainly spending more time on the Old House forum…

  5. So, Drew took the 5th at GJ, but he was also questioned by the ISP, right?

So he has statements on file with them, no?

    | Print Peterson Attorney Tries To Discredit Barrel Theory
Relative Had Reportedly Helped Drew Peterson Load Blue Barrel Onto Truck
BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (CBS) ― A mysterious blue barrel remains the focus of the investigation into the disappearance of Bolingbrook mother Stacy Peterson. Drew Peterson has been declared a suspect in the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, his fourth wife.

Drew Peterson’s 14-year-old son is expected to testify Thursday before the grand jury investigating the disappearance.

CBS 2 West Suburban Bureau Chief Mike Puccinelli stopped by the Bolingbrook home of the man who sources say helped Drew Peterson, move a large container from the Peterson home into Drew’s truck on the same day Stacy was last seen alive. Sources say the man, who is related to Drew, attempted to take his life the next day out of fear that he had unwittingly helped dispose of Stacy’s body.

Dawn Fico doesn’t know where her 39-year-old neighbor is, but is disturbed by the news of his possible entanglement in the case. But, she says her neighbor likely helped out Drew Peterson without having any idea what he was involved in.

“If he did do it, it would be totally unknowing,” Fico said. “His character would not describe him as someone who would knowingly do something like that.”

Drew Peterson’s attorney says talk of his client removing a large plastic container from his home, that published reports say was “warm to the touch” is just plain untrue.

“The whole thing seems like a never-ending rumor that started with comments that Stacy’s sister made and seems to have been growing ever since,” Brodsky said.

“There never was a drum,” he added.

He went on to say that the relative is a psychologically unbalanced repeat DUI offender.

“This is a person that has some very, very serious issues,” Brodsky said. “But when you look at the problems that he has you really can’t credit these statements.”

Brodsky says sending someone to prison or possibly death row based on the statements of such a witness would be a miscarriage of justice.

“The only potential witness they have is this very, very sick person,” Brodsky said.

Stacy Peterson’s family believes there is a lot more truth to the relative’s story than Drew’s attorney is letting on. They say he’s only attacking the relative in order to defend Drew.

“They’re not going to come forth and say he’s guilty or this is the case, they’re still going to have to stand by with what Drew says is he’s innocent of this whole situation,” family spokesperson Pamela Bosco said.

Also Wednesday, volunteer members of a boat team set out to find Stacy Peterson, a mission on which they have been unfalteringly faithful. They say the purpose is “to bring closure to the family.” Searchers said they were told to look for a barrel large enough to fit a petite woman’s body.

Searchers have found more than 10 blue barrels since Stacy disappeared.

CBS 2 Legal Analyst Irv Miller says the revelation a plastic container was allegedly removed from the Peterson home, can be looked at two ways.

“You know this could be a bombshell or absolutely nothing,” Miller said.

Police have said they believe Stacy Peterson is dead of a homicide, and they consider Drew Peterson a suspect in her disappearance. But he has repeatedly maintained that Stacy left him for another man. Peterson’s third wife, Kathleen Savio, was recently exhumed for a new autopsy after Will County State’s Atty. James Glasgow concluded that coroner’s ruling that her death three years ago was ruled an accident, was erroneous.

Meantime, on Saturday, there’s going to be a vigil held in front of the Peterson home. At that point, it’s going to be more than one month since Stacy vanished.

CBS 2’s Kristyn Hartman, Suzanne Le Mignot and Mike Puccinelli, and the Associated Press, contributed to this report.

  7. Why do you think LE isn’t looking for Stacy? Because I said that FSP searchers had to find something in order for ISP to come back there? I don’t know what water Roy was boating in … can’t remember the name and don’t want to confuse.

  8. futatestalin, so Morphey admitted to actually helping Drew put a barrel in the water? Did he happen to say what water? Should would narrow things down.

  9. Thanks iknow … I’m going to try to find it … but early articles are harder to find. Maybe candyrose has something.

  10. The woman who knows everything said that Morphey put that barrel in the water. Why Morphey is not telling Roy where is that water?
it is obvious that Morphey doesn’t want to tell LE ; they would have searched that water for sure and Stacy would have been found by now if he would have told them.
You think Morphey wanna tell Yelton?

  11. Ok I just found this article, maybe it is the one I read. Maybe I just thought he had helped him get rid of it on the way home.

The phone did ring while Peterson was gone, the Tribune reported. The caller ID said “Stacy.”

Peterson came back to the coffee shop and drove Morphey to Peterson’s home. Peterson reportedly asked the man to help him move something from the house. After moving the plastic container to the SUV, the two left and Peterson dropped the man off at his own home, according to the Tribune.

  12. i think its just speculation at this point that anyone knows what Mr. Peterson did with the blue container.. but its obvious there was a blue barrell and it got moved into the vehicle..and Mr. Morphey was the person who did it.. admittedly..

now why would you admit to helping someone do something and how would you know someone was missing before they were even reported missing if you didnt… sort of gives some weight to what Mr. Morphey said…

beyond that i dont think there has been any official report of what was done with the container or who did what with it…

  13. At 2:30 p.m. the day Stacy disappeared, Drew Peterson called out from work saying he could be at his shift because his wife was gone and he needed to stay home with his children, according to Lt. Ken Teppel.

CNN reports that stories now contradict Peterson’s account.

That evening a friend of Drew Peterson’s stepbrother Thomas Morphey allegedly said “he was home watching the World Series when Morphey called in a panic, saying he needed to talk.”

Morphey claims hours earlier he’d helped Peterson move a large blue container from an upstairs bedroom into Peterson’s SUV.

Morphey said he never looked inside but it was warm to the touch and he had a “terrible feeling,” Martineck said.

“He took me by my shoulders, told me I can’t say anything, and he just told me that he thinks he helped dispose of Stacy’s body,” Martineck said on NBC’s “Today” program.

Peterson has denied that Morphey helped him move anything.

  14. I know the convo has gone off the subject, but I saw the discussion on previous thread.

This morning anyone who signed up to get Yelton’s status info received this email:

This is an e-mail from the Illinois Automated Victim Notification system. The
offender for whom you have registered to receive notification, Yelton Cales,
with offender number R17478, has been discharged from the custody and control of
the Illinois Department of Corrections as of 6/4/2008. The reason for this
    discharge is expiration of sentence.

For more information, please contact the Victim Services Unit of the Illinois
Department of Corrections, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central
Time, Monday through Friday. The toll-free number is 877-776-0755.

He is free. He has to register for SO/SP wherever he lives from now on, but he is out.

  15. Thanks, amanda … someone did post that he was out … and I also saw it somewhere else. He was released early this morning, or so I read.

Does he have to register forever? I thought I read that he only had to register for the next 10 years but if he violated any conditions of a sexual predator, that time would be extended.

  16. Nope … this is what I read … he still has to register but the information won’t be on the website after 10 years …

How long must an offender remain registered as a sex offender and how often are they required to register?

A sex offender must register in person annually for a period of 10 years. The 10-year registration period will start upon conviction for those offenders sentenced to probation. Those offenders sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections, another state’s department of corrections, or federal corrections must register for 10 years from final parole, discharge, or release.

An offender must register in person once a year. The offender must re-register within 1 year of the date of their last registration and every year thereafter.

An offender who is convicted of a violation of the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act on or after July 1, 2005 are required to register every 90 days for the duration of their registration.

Those offenders adjudicated as Sexually Dangerous or Sexually Violent, must register every 90 days for natural life.

Upon completion of an offender’s 10-year registration period, their information will no longer appear on the web site.

Offenders classified as a sexual predator must register annually for his/her natural life.

  17. Yelton is classified as a sexual predator, therefore, annually – natural life ……..registration

g8trgirl, I have no idea where Yelton is …
not your day to watch him?……

  20. A sex offender must register in person annually for a period of 10 years.

Offenders classified as a sexual predator must register annually for his/her natural life.
I stopped reading too soon the first time. I am assuming the difference between the two is the age of the victim?

  21. noway…..this is totally O/T but, on my avatar…..can you see what it says or does it look like a tongue?

  22. You know, I really have a hard time putting Yelton in the same category as someone who molests a toddler or an elementary school kid.

My nephew, 18, is dating a 15 year old. She told him she was 15 when they first started dating. She was 14 … and I worry about him. Both of them think I’m nuts.

  23. lol … g8tr … until you said that, I thought it was a tongue! … does it say “Hello”?

She is a cute kid. IMO. Peeking through a pipe at me and saying, “I see you, Mommy!” We all just love her to pieces.

  24. I agree noway……haven’t seen or heard any reports that he’s a pedophile……that’s a fine line with those 16-17 year old girls.

  25. You have good reason to worry, noway.

He is an adult. If he is in IL, the age of consent is 17. He could go to jail, let’s say if the girl gets vindictive, or the parents get pissed off.

  26. noway406 // June 4, 2008 at 8:46 pm

YOUR funny noway,, on the last part of your post…..

my daughter was dating a 29 yr old at 15.. he is now 33 and she is 20 .. HE should be RELATED to FREDDY KRUGER .. though. lol

but we tell her not to be with him that low life ya know but they don’t listen ..

  27. Well, g8tr, they are all sexual offenders/predators … he was dating the girl, her parents said to stay away, he didn’t.

That’s the short story that I heard.

That’s why I worry about my nephew. The girl’s parents love my nephew … or maybe they are just saying that so they don’t push their daughter away?

  28. Amanda, we’re not in IL. But that’s why I worry. My SIL had it happen to her neighbor. Nicest kid you’d ever want to meet. Straight A student, athlete … and serving time in prison …

  29. acsmiley // June 4, 2008 at 8:53 pm

I see a gator saying ‘hello”?
YES!………i’ve been worried that it looks like it’s sticking out it’s tongue.

  30. In Montana, the age of consent is 16 . . . I was hoping my nephew would go to college away from her, but he now wants to wait a year before he starts college. Ugh.

  31. Well, tomorrow is Thursday so I’m hoping we’ll hear something GJ related. Calling someone else … extended … done … whatever.

  32. Tom Morphey’s involvement in this is confined to meeting with Drew at a coffee shop (Starbucks?), holding onto Drew’s cellphone while Drew left on an errand, and later helping Drew move the blue container from the house to Drew’s Denali.

Tom got home, and as has been stated, Walter Martineck was watching the World Series when Tom Morphey called him. In one article I read, Walter made note of what inning the game was in, which would pinpoint the time.

Tom Morphey was not involved with the final destination of the container.

What’s very important is that hours before Stacy was reported missing, Tom Morphey was in a panic, believing that he had helped Drew move Stacy’s body. He feared that Drew was going to kill him.

We have to wonder why Tom would jump to this conclusion? The only logical conclusion is that Drew told Tom some details of what had happened. Drew probably made it sound like it was an accident.

When Tom agreed to accompany Drew to his house to move a heavy container, he didn’t know what was in the container, but upon lifting it, put two and two together and realized it was Stacy.

Maybe Drew intended on Tom going with him to wherever he was planning on disposing of Stacy, and Tom refused and told Drew to take him home. Drew paid Tom and told him to keep his mouth shut.

  33. noway406 // June 4, 2008 at 9:00 pm

Well, tomorrow is Thursday so I’m hoping we’ll hear something GJ related. Calling someone else … extended … done … whatever.
Back around the end of January the GJ said it would be about 4 more months for them to finish.

  34. I’m not sure I agree with all of that, Molly. I don’t think her body was in the barrel. I think Drew had moved her on his own.

Tom Morphey didn’t mention anything to his brother about having been asked to go anywhere to dispose of the body. At least not that his brother reported.

I think the logical conclusion is that Tom knew what Drew could be like, not that he necessarily shared details about killing Stacy.

I’m just having trouble thinking that a dead body could have been in the house all day (thanks to earlier discussion about body fluids and gasses … uck).

IMO the body was moved in her car. However it got out of the driveway … rumor is that Mike Robinson had moved it.

  35. We haven’t heard anything about whether the GJ has extended its investigation? Or whether the boys had testified or were going to.

Joel said that Drew didn’t want them to … that an agreement had been made that if they talked with ISP and child advocate, they wouldn’t have to go before the GJ. And Drew wanted to hold them to what they’d said.

  36. FACT.

Yelton knew EXACTLY how old she was.

The girl’s parents told him to stay away from her.

Yelton chose to ignore the law because (once again) he feels the laws do not apply to him.

What the heck did they have in common? What was he going to do? Help her with her homework?

Don’t give this scumbag, repeat criminal offender ANY consideration.

  37. I think he moved her car to Clow because he needed it out of the driveway……she apparently had plans that day and sounds like a few people knew about them…..if her car was sitting in the driveway, people would think she was at home.

  38. Her car was gone when Sharon returned from her errands (between 11 and 11:55 depending on what you read).

Drew says he woke at 11 and she was gone.

I want to know if the boys agree with this.

  39. There may be some loopholes to keep DP’s two teen boys from testifying before the GJ…….if both/either of these cases go to trial…..anyone know how long defense can stall to keep the boys off the stand?

  40. Noway…………I do think Mike Robinson was involved in some capacity, and moving cars is likely.

Last night we were discussing Cushing airport, and how that may have figured into the events of that day.

Earlier today I was surfing a few sites and found a theory about Cushing airport that makes a lot of sense.

According to this theory, when Drew asked Sharon to babysit for a few minutes when he took them to her house for treats, he went home and contacted someone to help him dispose of Stacy. They made plans to meet at Cushing airport to finalize details. He used the laptop computer to send an email to the person with a map and directions to where his airplane was stored.

After picking up the children from Sharon’s, he made the trip to Cushing airport taking the two youngest children with him, using the excuse that he needed to put the stickers on his plane.

He met with the person he made plans to meet with, paid him some money, and made plans to meet him with Stacy’s body at some destination at a specific time later that night.

Drew knew that the laptop computer would contain incriminating evidence of that email, and when he met with the person later that night, the laptop was disposed of too.

  41. Speaking of child molesters:

    add an h in front

  42. mollymcgee // June 4, 2008 at 9:42 pm

Noway…………I do think Mike Robinson was involved in some capacity, and moving cars is likely.
    I agree…..highly likely.

  43. If either or both of these cases go to trial, do you think DP’s boys will have no choice but to testify? I often wonder what the younger children remember from that day.

  44. g8trgirl // June 4, 2008 at 8:42 pm

i say we give freedom Wednesday

hehe fine with me but yelton will want to run back to jail begging them to take him back swearing he would never even look at an underage girl again after one hour with me!!

  45. freedom08 // June 4, 2008 at 11:03 pm

why do the kids even need to testify is LE knows 100% drew is guilty?

Because the prosecution will want to present the jury with everything they’ve got. If either of the two boys have anything that’s pertinent to the case, that will be presented.

Most often, prosecutors will present their case with as much continuity as possible, taking the jury through the events of the day.

  46. I think the kids have been through enough and if LE is 100% certain drew is guilty I say leave those poor kids alone. Ofcourse if the kids have something pertinent that would prove drew is not guilty I bet the DA would not want to put them on the stand. but first there needs to be an arrest and I’m betting it won’t happen until they hearsay law is signed if it ever gets to the governor.
It’s bad enough they can’t even walk out their door without seeing the disgusting display sharon has created in her quest to stick it to drew! I don’t buy she has the best interest of the children at heart. pitiful.

  47. g8trgirl // June 4, 2008 at 10:38 pm

sounds like boyfriend is in trouble.

    Which boyfriend is in trouble?

another hit piece from a lynch mob mentality blogger.
    article?? hardly

I noticed the reporter on that piece. Isn’t she the same reporter that sometimes co-authors Jos Hosey articles?

  49. dk I’ve just seen a couple of hit pieces from her on drew. it’s nothing but her opinion with a few mentions of what’s been in the news.
I don’t consider her so called work as anything other than her biased opinion taking pride in trashing drew as much as she can.
I just thank god when I read crap like her article that we have a justice system based on FACTS and evidence.

  50. nope nothing about her hit piece is pretty good IMO. it’s not any different then many of the comments on these boards only all nice and fancy trying to pass it as an article from a journalist.

  51. I like this part of the article

The irony in legacies can not be missed. Drew, the older ´mature´ half of the Peterson couple will be remembered as a cop who thought himself above the law, a psychopath, a womanizer, a derelict dad, a has-been. Young Stacy, on the other hand, is leaving a poignant legacy of a loving mom, the feeling that she could be everyone´s daughter/sister/niece/friend. She is leaving behind compassion and teamwork, unknowingly changing others´ lives by the care she exhibited during her brief years.
