  12. I’m wondering where everyone is at too! It’s very hot and humid out there, so I’m staying inside, LOL, but I do have to run to the store. I’ve been waiting for the Gatehouse GJ update at the top. Oh, well, I guess I’ll just have to check when I get back.

  13. For some bizarre reason I’m all fired up about doing housework. Maybe that means we’ll get another earthquake. I’m still checking in from time to time…

  14. article on yelton he did not volunteer to go back to jail he violated parol and has spoke to drew last month. He’s living with Cassandra and her boyfriend bruce. (thought he wasn’t her boyfriend, more lies)
So why so many lies from the family?? why lie that he went back on his own? what kinda crap are they trying to pull with all these lies? I see no need for the family to lie about anything but seems the feel the need to so what is really going on with stacy’s disappearance??
such liars in this case on all sides and makes you wonder why.
    Stacy’s brother out of prison

    June 5, 2008Recommend

    By JOE HOSEY jhosey@scn1.com
Missing mom Stacy Peterson’s sex offender brother was sprung from prison Wednesday but had nothing to say about the mysterious case of his sister’s disappearance.

Stacy’s husband, embattled ex-Bolingbrook cop Drew Peterson, however, said his brother-in-law, Yelton Cales, has spoken to him a few times over the course of Cales’ most recent incarceration. He said Cales called him and “just wanted to talk and stuff” and that he last heard from him “about a month ago.”

Cales, 28, served out the remainder of a 4½-year sentence for aggravated criminal sexual abuse and returned to the unincorporated Lisle Township home of his sister, Cassandra Cales, and her boyfriend, Bruce Zidarich, on Wednesday afternoon.

Cales served part of his sentence and was released on parole. But he violated the terms and was sent back to prison to finish his sentence, which ended Wednesday.

Yelton was back in prison when Cassandra, Zidarich and Stacy planned to meet to re-paint his home to get him out of his lease Oct. 28 — the last day Stacy was heard from. Stacy never showed up, sparking an intense police investigation. State police have labeled the case a “potential homicide” and identified Peterson as their sole suspect.

    Sexual predator
After making it back to town Wednesday from Western Illinois Correctional Center in Mount Sterling, Yelton entered the garage. Soon after, Zidarich ordered reporters from his property.
Yelton’s father, Anthony Cales, said he did not know where his son would be living now that he has been released from prison.

The victim of Yelton’s sexual abuse was 15, according to the state police. As a predatory sex offender, Cales is required to register with the state for the rest of his life.

Peterson said he would be agreeable to Yelton visiting his niece and nephew — Stacy’s children, Anthony and Lacy.

“It’s going to be supervised, of course,” Peterson said.

Peterson said he was told through the Victim Information and Notification Everyday system Wednesday morning that Yelton was being released from prison.

“Stacy might have asked to have (us notified),” Peterson said.

  15. oh and drew will let yelton see the kids supervised.
take note sharon and cassandra and get a clue as to why you aren’t seeing the kids!!

  16. In order for for Sharon to see the kids we have to wait for them to outgrow the lawn posters size.

  17. There’s bunches of things that the public really don’t know, my hat goes off to those who have been able to keep stuff quiet.

  18. fugatzi // June 5, 2008 at 1:07 pm

FYI Freedom, Cassandra has seen the children.

so more lies that she has not been allowed to see the children? it was reported she saw them once and then over and over it was stated drew would not let her see the children.
nope grandma I was never a member of fsp.

  19. grandma210 // June 5, 2008 at 1:05 pm

Was most of us here on this blog at one time members of FSP forum? I was…
    ==========================
I was…..I think I only made three posts there though…..mostly just read.

  20. I haven’t ever seen it reported as factual that Drew would not let her see the children. But I could have missed it.

  21. the whole incident in sharons driveway where cassandra and sharon took a picture anthony and it was touted as that was the only way she could see the kids.
no wonder they took down FSP had to delete all those lies on that board.

  22. Speaking of pictures, I hear quite a few random people who up to take photos in front of the garden.

  23. Peterson said he would be agreeable to Yelton visiting his niece and nephew — Stacy’s children, Anthony and Lacy.

“It’s going to be supervised, of course,” Peterson said.

    That’s nice.

  24. How awful! Reminds me of Graceland! I think it is horrible the way people flock in there to gawk at his home and whatever possessions they choose to have displayed. I went to Graceland when he was alive and wrote my name on the wall; but ya know that has been painted over a ga-zillion times by now….

  25. I put an Easter egg on Elvis’ grave. At the time I was taking a trip and hiding Easter eggs wherever we stopped and photographing them.

I wouldn’t leave one at any place on Pheasant Chase Court though. Too many bad vibes.

  26. I was a former FSP member, for a very short time, I was seriously bummed when they shut down the forum. I mostly read, didnt post too much. As far as the Grand Jury, does anyone know if they met to deliberate ? I know there were no witness testimony today. Just wondering if they met to do anything at all today if anyone knows…Thanks

  27. haven’t heard any updates about deliberation from the GJ. wonder if they heard from anyone in the Stebic case today.

  28. Peterson remained in Bolingbrook while his brother-in-law reunited with family in Lisle Township.
“He got out last time, I took him to Alexander’s for prime rib,” Peterson said. “I treated the whole cast of characters, as usual.”

    I’m sure there are!

  33. I was a member at FSP. Like many people here, I lost patience with the over-sentimentality and the over-the-top personalities. At a certain point it became almost unbearable to read there. That was when I started doing most of my reading and posting at other forums.

I think there were a lot of fine people who belonged to FSP, but their presence was overshadowed by the theatrics of a small group. It was a relief to see the forum closed.

Yeah, I can’t really envision a big group hug.

lol me either. I am curious why Yelton was calling drew and keeping in contact with him.

    $$$$$

Waw fugatzi, are you sure? The Garden is a monument… people come and take pics?
If this is true than Sharon had a smashing idea with her garden. I want to check first that what you say is not a bunch of journalists that write an article about Stacy…
Anyway, great news fugzatzi! Great news!

  37. Maybe so as to keep communication open so that upon release he would be able to visit his niece and nephews?

I wonder what their relationship was like prior to all of this – Drew & Yelton.

that would be my guess. I haven’t heard about their relationship but do think drew helped yelton out in the past.
I think it’s for the best if they can get along enough for yelton to see the kids.

  39. I would guess that he wasn’t fond of Yelton mainly because Stacy was. Drew strikes me as the type to not fancy anyone who took Stacy attention from himself even if they were family.

  40. freedom08 // June 5, 2008 at 1:46 pm

I am curious why Yelton was calling drew and keeping in contact with him.
    ***********************************

Maybe they had always gotten along, and there’s no animosity. Anthony Cales seems to have had a good relationship with him as well.

If you think about it, as much a Yelton might suspect that Drew killed his sister, he’s been completely out of the circus. He may be able to talk civilly with his brother-in-law. Maybe he’s hoping Drew will confide something to him.

On the other hand, maybe he doesn’t think Drew is responsible. It’s hard to know. But it is interesting.

  41. I believe Drew & YELTON kept in contact so he could find out what was happening with his sisters search, and for the niece and nephew to see later on… but if they talked while he was in jail everything is recorded.. could it be possible drew could be upto something since he got out????

  42. I can’t say I feel bad for Yelton. There’s no state where 15 is legal age of consent (unless I missed something on that list).

That said, he’s paid the price, done the time, and it’s up to him to make better choices for the rest of his life.

  43. I DO feel bad for Yelton in that he’s lost three sisters and a mom. No one deserves that kind of loss and grief.

FAC, I posted ON the FSP site as well, I posted there , and read mostly…

TRUE he has done his time an all that and has to make better choices… wonder about if he ever wants to get married and they have kids what will happen then later on… ya know…

MY brother inlaw had a hard time REjusting to the outside world.. it took about a YEAR for him to figure things out … but also being on probation for 5yrs also was a strain on him.. HE was in the news way back when..

  45. I saw an episode of The First 48 where a woman was found dead inside her torched car. The boyfriend (and father of her baby) was suspected but he denied being involved. The woman’s mom and dad took the boyfriend in and housed him for a couple of weeks – until he finally confessed.

They said that afterwards that they had wanted to keep him close because they were so sure he had killed her. I can’t imagine how hard that must have been for them. They had all been very close.

  46. noway406 // June 5, 2008 at 2:07 pm

lug … keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

So so true NOWAY .. it could be possible that Drew could say something to YElton of some sort of slip up ya know….

very smart move by the family!!

  48. Hmmmm………..is the grand jury taking a day off? Or are they meeting, no more witnesses to call, and are deliberating on all the testimony they’ve heard?

Frank Girardot: Cases about missing women grist for cable news mill
Article Launched: 06/04/2008 09:00:47 PM PDT

    Blog
Go behind the yellow tape in the Crime Scene blog
Fox News loves missing women and girls.

There’s never a shortage of them to fill programming holes for O’Reilly, Hannity or Greta in non-election years. And the list of cases the network has covered is pretty long:

Elizabeth Short, Chandra Levy, Laci Peterson, Natalee Holloway and Jennifer Wilbanks all come to mind. I’m sure there are others.

The latest case, that of Stacy Peterson, 23, missing from her

Illinois home since October, has an El Monte connection. Peterson’s aunt, Candace Aiken.

Late last week, Aiken traveled to Joliet, Ill., to testify before a grand jury investigating her niece’s mysterious disappearance.

While there, she spent three hours telling the panel what sort of person her niece was. Quoted in the Chicago Sun-Times, Aiken recalled telling the grand jury about her relationship with Stacy and about her niece’s marital problems with Drew Peterson.

It breaks my heart to know that Roy is not inviting Yelton on the boat to look for his sister.

What do you mean , did you hear something about that or ???

  53. Lugnut –

This was also part of what I saw going on with some people at FSP (again just a few of them). There was this kind of missing-woman mania that seems to be take over any notion of common sense, or common decency. For example, that poor guy whose aunt was pulled Lake Michigan and the people who were harrassing him and demanding proof from him, as if any dead woman has to be either Stacy Peterson or Lisa Stebic, and you better be ready to pony up with the facts or else you’re accused of hiding some crucial info.

I guess I’m part of the mania. I don’t know Stacy but I’m caught up in her story and I’m here reading and posting all the time.

I should set my computer to schedule regular reality checks!

WHAT person said that FUTAtestalin , that they don’t need YELTON…. to help???

    me thinks Iam lost …

  59. Oh I see that is who you are quoting about it not being necessary for Yelton to search. Did they have some reasoning as to why that was? I must have missed that post.

  60. I don’t see any reason why Yelton wouldn’t be part of any organized search, if he wants to participate.

As I understand it, he’s on parole, and as such he’s supposed to obtain employment, abide by the terms of his parole, and meet regularly with his parole officer.

As long as he stays out of trouble he can participate in any legal activity.

  61. Here I am. Have to unpack groceries.

Listen, I am all fired up about Peterson allowing Yelton to see his kids, supervised.

Yeah, that’s all well and fine, and I’m not defending Yelton, but who the hell does Peterson think he is? He can’t keep his hands off of anything that isn’t at least 3x younger than he is.

If anybody needs supervising, it’s that dirty old geezer that calls himself a man!

    Choooooo, spray that bug spray.

  62. lol rescue it maybe law that yelton has to be supervised around the kids.
and who the hell peterson thinks he is

    **********

freedom – with all due respect, this was the way it was reported in the news, and DP is the one that called the police! Why would he call the police if he didn’t want to have an in-your-face confrontation? He wasn’t home when the child, Anthony, went over to the crowd, and when he got home, he had a hissy fit. Taking down fsp has nothing to do with that! I believe the people that were running fsp realized it was getting unorganized and out of hand. They did the right thing. EVERYONE deserves a second chance, and they’re trying a go at it now. Give them a break!

As to the family lying, I think the biggest liar in this whole mess is the man that is being investigated for two murders! People putting up a shrine with plants and pictures is cookies and milk compared to what that poor excuse of a human being did!

(hanging head – you still love me freedom?)

  64. Has anyone heard the status of the hearsay law?

It’s my understanding that the Illinois state house and senate passed the law, but then one of the two tacked on an amendment that it apply to first degree murder cases only.

So the law now has to go back to both house and senate for a vote before being sent to the governor for signature.

I think the grand jury is waiting on the governor’s signature on that law before proceeding to hand down an indictment in this case.

  65. freedom – I know he’s the father of THOSE kids, but any other fathers around with daughters the age of Drew’s attention better supervise them too!

  66. ofcourse I still love you rescue!!
and yes drew is a liar I expect nothing but lies out of drew. I see no reason why the family would lie and that’s what I dont’ understand.

Sign that bill, Governor, before Rezko takes you down the path of woe!!!!!!!!

  69. I think the hearsay bill is a very dangerous bill to pass there is a reason why hearsay isn’t allowed in the court systems.

I think the hearsay bill is a very dangerous bill to pass there is a reason why hearsay isn’t allowed in the court systems.
I’m sure it will be before the supreme court if it does pass.
    _______________
It’s passed other places already … can’t remember where and am hoping someone will tell me.

It’s been used against defendents … and I don’t think it’s been brought before the Supreme Court … at least not yet.

  74. But maybe those weren’t first degree murder trials? Or their hearsay laws were not limited to first degree murder trials?

  75. california I think and don’t know if it’s been used against any one yet and that is when it would go before the supreme court.
Believe me I hate all the loops holes criminals use to get out of crimes but I don’t feel allowing hearsay is the way to close the loop hole.

  76. Even if she had it might not be admissable. Just like Ms. Savio’s letter…. No evidence can be produced written or otherwise that does not allow the accused to confront their accuser….

there are several states which have passed laws and on a federal level it is already allowed.. this is a state level and fortunately the supreme court does not choose to hear every single case presented before it.. so even if he tried to appeal based on that his chances would be slim to none of being heard.. and less of them siding with him i think…

the law is a necessary evil and so long as it is only allowed in situations where the person is not available because of a criminal act of the accused.. i dont see how it is dangerous .. victims of domestic violence often go without a voice their entire lives.. they should at least be heard in their deaths..

  77. and the law clearly states as it is written that the judge can allow it..not has to.. the judge will have to consider the weight of the evidence and the credibility of it.. just like on a federal level it already exsists.. there are all sorts of loopholes and exemptions to the hearsay law already… including this one.. it doesnt allow just anything to come in.. it has to meet a very strict set of guidelines and has to be considered credible.. judges dont take that lightly considering it is their court room and their name ..

  78. molly yelton is not on parole.. he has served his entire setence and is completely clear except for the sexual offender registration and stipulations of living at least 500 yards from schools, playgrounds, daycares…. the entire reason Yelton was back in prison was to finish his sentence instead of parole…

  79. Ah, excuse me, Gatehouse. Spill the beans! What’s up with the GJ???????

nope yelton went back to prison because he violated his parole. don’t know why you keep trying to insist he didn’t.

Cales served part of his sentence and was released on parole. But he violated the terms and was sent back to prison to finish his sentence, which ended Wednesday.

  81. i heard that today was just Stebic people.. no Peterson or Savio witnesses called.. guess Lisa gets some time too…

  82. so now the media print is factual and no room for error.. i cant keep up these days.. which is it…and no matter what the point is he is NOT on parole NOW as was stated.. which was my point..

ill recheck myself and get back to that.. but i am almost 100% certain that Yelton voluntarily went back…in fact wasnt it you that first pointed that out yesterday…

so confused… should have had coffee before posting today..

  83. who do you think they would call in the Stebic case… it seems like a very small pool of people in comparison..

i dont get the feeling they are going to indict him even though it seems like there are very limited other possibilities of what happened…

  84. freedom, they have been hearing testimony for some time in the Stebic case. Nobody has forgotten Lisa Stebic. Except perhaps her husband.

  85. iknowhatudont I saided that someone claimed a family member stated he went back on his own free will and that I did not believe that for one minute.
lol the media print is factual sometimes and it’s been pretty consistant regarding yelton violating parole.
    ah coffe sounds good.

  86. I hope Yelton starts making some better choices. What is he … almost 29 … great time to a man to grow up. IMO

I think the hearsay law was passed and has been used in California as well as other states.

The way I understand it, it’s up to the judge’s discretion about what is considered admissible with the hearsay law.

In the Peterson case, there’s some things that would be allowed into evidence by way of the hearsay law, and other things that might be ruled out.

As an example, Kathleen Savio’s letters to state authorities might be allowed, But Cassandra testifying that Stacy told her that if anything happened to her to look for her – that probably wouldn’t be admissible. If Cassandra witnessed Drew hitting Stacy, that would be allowed as it’s eyewitness testimony.

It’s a fine line that the judge will have to weigh with every witness that may fall under the hearsay clause.

  88. noway – he keeps bad company, if he’s going to hang around DP!!!!!!! He’ll grow up alright, but in a bad, bad way.

Let’s hope he makes smarter choices about who he chooses to include in his life!

  95. I read on another site that the law passed and now it goes to the governor. And I think it was stated above too. So here I sit. Confused.

  96. The article is from yesterday … could they have possibly passed it in the Senate already? Crazy.

  115. Facs, why do you say that Cassandra lied? From what I recall, she was not scheduled to go and paint the day that Stacy was going to paint with Bruce. Cassandra said she “opted out”. So whoever said she was supposed to paint was wrong. Also, you stated she lied because of Bruce? Why do you say that? Isn’t it possible they WERE just friends and since October and going throughout this ordeal they’ve become close and have a relationship now?

  116. another lying neighbor

    ________________

Personally, I don’t believe she has seen the children…unless it was very recent. Again…the way Brodsky explained the situation I took it as he was “giving the impression” and not quite acurate at that. he’s good at that. Such as when he said family stay in touch all the time and even at Christmas there was family get togethers. Well…that makes it sound like numerous people…when in fact it was only ONE person….Stacy’s Aunt Candace. But Brodsky paints the picture to the tune he thinks the media wants to sing.

Absolutely NOT true. And who said it will not be admissable? The trial hasn’t even begun for any objections to transpire to squash having the letter admissable. Fact is…that will be up to the judge. I’m near positive that letter will be admissable in the trial for Kathleen.

  125. ok, for what it’s worth, we do know that the media can at times get some of the facts mixed up. i have been in touch with a reliable source close to the peterson family, who has told me that yelton did indeed return to prison by his own choice, rather than end up violating his parole. the conditions they are placed under really make them toe the line and in fact it can be very very easy to violate parole, in many different ways in general, not to mention how stressful it is in general as well. yelton was finding it really hard to toe that line, and was given a choice (as are most if not all parolees) of giving it a try ‘out here’, or returning and finishing his time out in prison. he chose to return. it’s really that simple, whether anyone chooses to believe it or not. this is directly from the source, who knows the cales family, being close to the peterson family, and all those involved. also, yelton returned to prison before stacy vanished. stacy and cass had been fixing up a house for yelton to live in, had painted it bright colors that he liked. so when he returned to prison and didn’t live in the house as planned, they had to repaint the inside of the house back to its original colors, so they could get the deposit back.

ALLENDALE, Ill. – The U.S. Geological Survey says a 3.6-magnitude earthquake rumbled across southern Illinois.

The quake at about 2:15 a.m. was centered in Allendale, which is in southeast Illinois near the Indiana border.

thanks for that, I knew that to happen… they do that if they cann’t handle the out side at first he was not prepared yet it seems … that’s ok .. he proubly got some help in understanding how to handle being out .. before time was up.. I know my bro inlaw had to rejust for outside of jail ..

  128. lugnut96, you’re welcome! yeah it can be hard, especially for those who like to party and maybe hang with the old crowd. they really need to learn to make better choices and stay away from those who still like to get in trouble. from what i understand it was hard for yelton, yet stacy and cass were trying to encourage him and be supportive, etc. with stacy having been the ‘matriarch’ of the cales family, yelton is going to be on the thin side in having support now that he’s out. here’s hoping that he does manage to stay on the straight and narrow path, which for most parolees is hard at best, at least in the beginning.

  129. Thanks Myth. I do believe you but do you know where the ‘violated his parole’ statement originally came from? Or does this family member know?

    —–

facsmiley, you’re welcome! the source is “close to the peterson family”, not necessarily a family member. 🙂 it’s really not known where that statement originally came from, best guess is from the media themselves, getting the facts jumbled up. or from others who haven’t heard the truth, didn’t believe it, and rumors fly. who knows for sure. one reason the source came forward is to at least help correct some misinformation going around.

  132. …the quote ‘violated his parole’ came from the fact that he willing violated a stipulation on his parole and then asked to be remanded back to finish his sentence… technically it can be considered a violation even though it was willing and intentional.. the press chose to word it as a violation and leave out the explanation behind it..

maybe it will be in a book or something…

  133. ..you pop everytime i post.. weird…

maybe he is going to sell bobble heads of Mr. Peterson and Mr. Brodsky…
