  1. Let’s see… for fruit/veggies this year, we chose:

    Strawberries
    Watermelon (small cantelope sized)
    Raspberries
    Tomatoes (big and little ones)
    Buttercrunch lettuce
    Chives
    Sugar snap peas
    Peppermint
    Spearmint
Catnip (um… for the cat that bit me)

    For flowers (annuals & perennials):

    Peonies
Day lillies (pink, orange & white)
    Pansies
    Forget-me-nots
    Bleeding hearts
    Lillies of the valley
    Tulips
    Hyacinths
    Wild iris
    Delphiniums
    Columbine
    Lysimachia
    French liliacs
    Miniature rose topiaries
    Assorted Canadian & Alaskan wildflowers
    Geraniums

Growing season is *very* short up here, but the long summer sunshine makes things grow fast and big, so it all pans out nicely.

Indoors, my hubby is trying his hand at keeping 3 avacado plants I started alive- they’re about 4′ high now, and my youngest is determined to see if we can grow mangos, just cause they taste good. Also, just for laughs, I’ve got some arabica coffee bean plants, though I doubt they’ll be anywhere near full maturity even after a year or so. Still, they are very nice plants, lots of leaves and nice dark green color- looks nice on the entertainment center.

I thought about trying cherry trees and blueberries, but last year the damn moose ate so much, I decided I’d better stick with less expensive plants. Gonna have to fight them off my snap peas and strawberries as it is. 🙂

And that’s how my garden grows! 🙂

  2. Good morning all. Hope today is THE DAY 😉
Off to garage sales w hubby and be back later. Bash, thanks for praying for that ederly man. I just don’t understand the thought processes of people who just kept driving around him and not stopping. Never will understand.
Amanda, glad to see you posting..sorry haven’t jumped to your site…just been overwhelmed with work, busy planning sons graduation and family coming in from out of state.
Facs, hope your day is well and to the rest of everyone…Rescue, liz, bb, idont…have a good day. Sorry if I forgot anyone. I didn’t forget you..just the screenname.

  3. Oh. Before I go. As you know………I’ve been singing the “Stacy was placed in Arizona”, although my gut says under concrete w a home being built above her…however…caught this in the news this morn. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Scary.

Cops: Bones found near I-19 indicate homicide

    Tucson, Arizona |
Human skeletal remains were found in a plastic bag in a wash off Interstate 19 Friday morning, and investigators are treating the death as a homicide, police said.
A motorist who broke down along northbound I-19, about a mile and a half north of Sahuarita Road, discovered the remains and called authorities at about 10 a.m., said Officer Sam Almodova, a spokesman for the Sahuarita Police Department.
“Because of the way the body was found, that’s given us reason to believe we have to start this as a homicide investigation,” Al-modova said.
There is no indication precisely how long the remains had been there or when the person had died. Almodova also said there is no indication as to the person’s sex, race or age.
“Right now we’re pretty much starting at zero,” Almodova said. “The remains are going to be taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner, and hopefully they’ll give us some answers. Everything we need is probably going to come from there.”
Almodova did not know when the autopsy would be completed, but said the department will provide more details to the public at that time to seek further information. Police ask anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME.

  4. Bash……..you’ve GOT to let me know if the coffee beans work out. I believe you need a really HOT area, correct? Have a good day today, as well…of course:)

  5. If Drew Peterson could have flown to Arizona with a body in his luggage, there are going to be heads rolling at the airports between Bolingbrook and Arizona. IMO

  6. noway406 // June 7, 2008 at 10:42 am

…there are going to be heads rolling at the airports between Bolingbrook and Arizona. IMO
    ************************************

Oh no – more senseless deaths! 🙂

  7. facs, just pointing out the ridiculousness of the idea that Stacy is the body found in Arizona. At least “ridiculous” in my opinion. 🙂

Didn’t think about the senseless death aspect of heads rolling! 🙂

  8. I don’t know of any reason why Stacy’s remains would be in Arizona either. I try to resist the idea that every corpse that turns up is somehow related to this case.

  9. I think it’s very likely that Stacy’s body is not in the immediate Bolingbrook area, but I doubt it’s as far away as Arizona.

I’ve always felt that Drew had help in disposing of her body, and whoever helped him, made sure the body isn’t anywhere near the area they knew would be searched.

One theory I’ve seen put forward is that when Drew went to Cushing airport to put stickers on his airplane on that Sunday, it was to meet with someone, arrange the final details, and pay them. Later that night, Drew took the body and met with someone at a pre-arranged location, and the person he met took the body and disposed of it.

  10. Molly – It’s certainly plausible. He may have made the trip all the way to Cushing for the meeting as a way to avoid cell phone pings or phone records.

  11. I think the reason he took that ride to the airport that day was to check things out in the daylight as far as being able to see from the road where he disposed of her.

  12. The reason I can’t get Arizona from my mind is the fact that both Stacy and Drew were in Arizona only a few months prior to her disappearance and they were house hunting. A drive from BB to Flagstaff would be 24 hours. He was gone 3 days. 1 to drive there, 1 to be there and 1 to drive home. Plenty of time. Albeit, that would be a heck of a drive for one person…but under the adrenaline? Possible. Also, I do not associate every bones/human jane doe with it being Stacy. I see at least 4-5 everyday that come through my email that are found daily in the US! Awful, eh?

  13. Molly, you said “One theory I’ve seen put forward is that when Drew went to Cushing airport to put stickers on his airplane on that Sunday, it was to meet with someone, arrange the final details, and pay them. _______________

I’ve had a lot of doubts that Drew would involve anyone else in his doings…however, there is always the possibility that whomever helped him (IF someone helped him) was someone very dirty and the only reason that DP got the someone to help him was that Stacy threatened to divulge Drew’s relationship with this someone and perhaps something they did. In that case, I can see Drew going to that someone saying “I killed her. I had to. She was going to tell-all”….and that “someone” then steps up to help him……….otherwise, if it is not that scenario….I don’t believe Drew would have gotten someone else involved as he knows too many people will sing like a canary under the right circumstance.

    Facs,
Maybe he used Stacy’s cell phone – the one that’s missing – to call someone and tell them to meet him at Cushing airport. That way, all details would be person to person instead of phone calls.

Later, he disposed of Stacy’s cell phone along with any other evidence – her purse, the laptop computer, etc.

I think there’s a reason for Drew’s apparent confidence. He knows that no matter how much people search, the body is far away from Bolingbrook and the search area.

The one thing that’s got me stumped, is that three-day “head clearing” trip. Somehow, I think that has to figure into the grand scheme of things.

  15. Since Joel’s statement about the 3-day trip contradict what Drew has said … it does make those three days even more interesting.

With the right mindset, a trip like that is possible.

  16. Has anyone ever been able to find a statement by Drew that he had the children with him on the trip to Cushing airport?

I have seen other people quoted as such but would like it from the horse’s mouth.

  17. Can you please elaborate on how what Joel said contradicts what Drew said. Thank you. I am losing track of all of this info in my head.

    LAV,

YOU can not drive 1day to get here to AZ no way ,… it is 2650 miles to drive and it takes at least a week.. we left nj on the 31 and arrived april 9 to az 2yrs ago…

  19. The contradiction between Joel and Drew is that during the 3-day headclearing trip, Drew went to Wisconsin (according to both Joel and Drew).

Joel later said that the old friend Drew visited had lost touch with Drew but they reunited about a month after Stacy went missing.

The headclearing trip was early November 2-4 or so … a month after Stacy went missing would have been November 28.

Even allowing for some confusion in dates, this makes me not trust what Joel said.

    All just IMO of course.

  20. 1 day 2 hours according to Google.

And I just picked Tucson as my destination since that is where the remains were found (as discussed above).

    __________________

I’ve never heard any confirmation that the children went with Drew to Cushing airport.

I have heard that only the two youngest went with Drew. I can see that possibility – the children would be occupied, perhaps sitting in Drew’s airplane pretending to fly, and wouldn’t pay any attention to daddy talking with another man.

  22. If Drew went to Arizona during those three days, he could have flown to and from there, flying under an assumed name and perhaps flying in or out of a smaller airport than O’Hara.

  23. I always thought that all 4 children went on that ride to the airport. Now I am trying to remember how/when/by who the confirmation came that he in fact went to the airport. I really am starting to lose track of all of this info………….I sure hope those that need to keep track are!!!!!!!!!! (LE)

If Drew went to Arizona during those three days, he could have flown to and from there, flying under an assumed name and perhaps flying in or out of a smaller airport than O’Hara.

    ********************************

The only way he could have accomplished this would be by flying via private plane.

I travel frequently out of many large and small airports and it is/would be extremely hard to fly under an assumed name on ANY commercial air carrier.

I don’t believe that the Arizona thing is viable. IMO

  25. I have to believe that professional profilers have been called in to this case. They really really know their stuff. I am guessing that they have the radius nailed down as to where he disposed of her body.

  26. I also think that anything is possible with him. If he hangs out at an airport, I think it is possible to have some friends there. If you hang around with some criminals, you also will have access to those types.

I think we should be open to anything with that man.

  27. He would have had to drag a “friend” that holds an FAA license, etc into this. I would question if he really had any “friends” that would jeopardize their livelihoods for him. If they unsuspectingly helped him, then one can only hope they would have come forward by now.

Some of his other “friends” Michael Robinson, have far less to lose by not coming forward. If he had help from a “friend” my money is on Robinson.

I say “friends” with quotations because I don’t really believe he had/has any. They are all pawns in his world.

  28. If the arrest that they speak of is coming soon, I sure hope they (LE) have a plan to ensure the safety of the children.

  29. I am sad to say that I am starting to form the opinion that SP may never be found. It’s so
tragic, this whole thing, I believe justice will be
served ( if you can call this justice) somehow it just falls short for me. I hope and pray I am wrong, but I just don’t see Stacy coming h0me.
    Just so sad…

  30. Lugnut, a day is 24 hours, plus 2 hours equals 26 hours. That’s only two minutes more than what you said (25 hrs 58 mins, only two minutes short of 26 hours).

  31. Noway had 1,759 miles, and you had 1,758.36. Looks like that might take up that extra two minutes apart you were, lol. How’s your corn growing in your pot?

  32. Ok. First of all, Stacy went missing on Oct 28, not Nov 28 as stated above. The 2-3 day headtrip was only a day or so later. Yes, he could have very well flown SOMEONE elses plane for all we know…or just drove himself there in 25 hours, maybe 28 for stops and traffic…hid her body and drove back. So it is possible.

  33. At the same time, it’s also possible he drove to Wisconsin hoping to use his friend as an alibi…discarded her body there…..and then found out the friend perhaps wasn’t home or whatever and that blew his alibi so by staying in touch with this friend a month or so later…and having another trip out to WI would give him the opportunity to “check on the body’. There are so many possibilities here. I just personally do not think she is anywhere near Bolingbrook. Just common sense says three days gone after she disappeared means he went somewhere. But where? I picked AZ because “that is where she wanted to be”. Stacy was probably excited over the prospect of a move and away from BB and all those that frowned upon her and Drew’s age differences and perhaps even a “start” away from running into the Savio’s in the grocery stores, etc. Perhaps she thought if it were “just he and her” he would let up on his control as well. Being that she may have felt he would have nobody else in AZ except for her and the kids that it would be an adventure and a new start for the two of them. However, something changed between the Arizona trip…..and the preacher meeting in August…that made Stacy give up on all the plans. Perhaps she never wanted to be in Arizona to begin with? Maybe she didn’t want to be away from her family and what she has come to know? Whatever occured………….I believe happened between the Arizona house hunting…and the preacher meeting in August. Maybe she found out Drew had another woman on the side? Just more hypotheticals to ponder.

  34. Wonder if there is a way to find out if anyone reported seeing a small plane land in some desert land in AZ around Nov 1-4 ? Those light planes fly under the radar zone. Arizona has a lot of desolate area’s and open area’s. He would have or could have flown low enough to land somewhere or even tossed her out of the plane. Isn’t it a two seater? If he carried her out in a duffle bag placed in a rubbage bag right in full view of the kids, it wouldn’t be much to then transfer her to the rubbish bag and toss her out in some very desolate region. Then burn the duffle bag somewhere else. Problem is, his plane did not leave the airport. Did he use any one elses? Wonder if they checked the logs of other people’s planes? Whats the chance that he borrowed a plane from someone else who HAS a plane and also who WOULD not tell of what transpired? Not many….unless a drug running type crowd. So many if’s and or’s in this case. I just hope the ISP has a lot of evidence that we are not aware of….because at this point….there are so many possibilities that it is mind boggling.

YOUR to FUNNY, lol MY sons corn is doing pretty good , still learning how to grow things here cause of the heat ya know… did better In NJ growing my stuff . here it is ok. but dry kinda cruchy in the pot lol water daaily but ya know.. hope this time does better… teehee

  36. Would Arizona really be “where she wanted to be”?

She was so close to her family. I just can’t imagine that 1,795 (or 1,758.36 as the crow flies, lug) miles away was where she wanted to be.

  37. cfs7360 // June 7, 2008 at 6:30 pm

YEAH I know, what your saying.. hubby said he did away with her and that she was going to leave just like kathleen wanted to leave him.. but stacy wanted to be with her family and kids that is where she wanted to be

  38. I was looking for Ric Mims saying that Drew took the kids to Cushing with him. I found it once before looking for something else and posted it here … but what day, what day? 🙂

  39. I wonder if he just took the youngest two.

If they fell asleep on the drive (as kids have been known to do) he could have done more than put stickers on the plane.

If he had the teens with him, it could have been, as someone suggested above (sorry TLTS … too lazy to scroll) a recon for going that route in the dark.

Ric said he believed Drew buried Stacy somewhere out toward Cushing. Does this mean he didn’t believe Drew had the kids with him? Or that he went there later?

  40. I have wondered if he took the kids to the airport so a helper could go into the house and get Stacy ready to move.

  41. iknow, that’s another reason why it would be nice to know whether he took all the kids or just the younger two.

  42. when would Ric have said this what month did he say this on air???? that way ya can I believe find it..

  43. Well … it might have been in the interview he did during the fly around BB. Or in a Greta interview.

Around mid- to late-November is when he changed his mind about Drew, isn’t it?

  44. DID anyone catch this at all of what RIc said dufus said , seems like he said 2 different times to RIC…
    THEN THERE IS THIS …..
National Enquirer (12/17/2007) Page 20: “Stacy murdered in Bed. Stacy’s final minutes of terror”:
“He said: ‘Well I got up about 11 o’clock, and Stacy was gone. I didn’t think much of it because she was suppose to go see her grandfather.’ Drew says the next time he tried calling her was at 8 p.m. He left her a voice mail and said something to the effect: ‘I don’t want to disturb you if you’re out on a date.” “I asked if Stacy was dating somebody else. He said: ‘Actually I think she’s dating four or five different guys from the intelligence I was gathering up.” And clearly Drew had been tracking Stacy’s movements, Mims says.”

RICK MIMS: “Stacy supposedly called and told him [Drew Peterson] that she found somebody else, she`s taking a vacation, If you want the car, it`s parked over at Clow.” – MIKE BROOKS: “And if that — what did he say what time that was?” – RICK MIMS: 9:00 o`clock, 9:00 PM”

  45. Hmm … my last post went away somewhere.

Something I’d seen (for the first time) was a post that said the chlorine in the 30 gallon barrel was not liquid; it was in packets.

So getting rid of those would be pretty simple. Box ’em up; ship ’em out? Toss ’em in that canal?

  46. So … she is gone and he’s supposed to go to work, yet he doesn’t call her to find out where she was … maybe that’s why he went driving around … to find out which of the “four or five” guys Stacy was with.

And he says he had no idea she was “seeing someone else.” Or maybe she did tell him.

  47. I remember cassandra saying there was a spout or something in the blue barrel so it might have been liquid. He could have just poured it down the drain. It might have been a small handpump too.

  48. Duck Club, RIc says that Drew belongs to that club??? where would that be at … and is anything around there lakes stuff like that ..

  49. good question….it was not automatically generated….possibly have to do with the weather there in Chicago area….?

  50. Ahhhhhhhhh. Well, I have a funny story to tell. It’s totally off topic but I will share it.
As you may, or may not know, I just LOVE garage sales. Have to tell the story of yesterday’s garage sale hunt and the funniest thing that happened to John and I! Well first we picked up a few cool things! A casio keyboard for son. (which was one thing we set out to look for)…hubby got a brand new DeWalt drill still in box for $100 and it is valued at $299. (they were asking $125 but he talked them into $100) and a brand new in the box Moehn Faucet for the kitchen sink. Now I just need to get my stainless steel sink and we’ll be ready to go! I have a white sink now and HATE IT!)

Now I will tell you a funny story!

UNREAL. My husband is still dying over this.

At one garage sale we had a long conversation with the husband and wife and they are foster families for birds. Not just any birds…..rare and HUGE birds. I love birds and have had cockatiels and a cockatoo in my lifetime and really miss not having my birds…however, with my job and travel it’s difficult because birds become very attached to a member of the family…usually me cuz they’re “mine’, lol..Anyhow…while out on the road or out of town my bird would drive everyone nuts looking for me and squawking, etc. So I had to get rid of my most recent bird :(……..

…ok…so at the same garage sale that we bought the Moehn faucet (valued at $300…for only $20 bucks!!) the wife takes me in to show me these beautiful birds that she is fostering (and they will sell for around $2500) NO I was not interested in buying….already too hard to bond and then have to find a new home for birds….but I sure was happy to want to see her birds.

Anyhow…..the very last cage (of 8) was this beautiful African Grey Parrot.

He comes right up to the cage and sticks his beak and I start to stroke his beak and I say to him “You’re such a pretty bird. Pretty bird.”…………

and do you know what this bird says to me?

    OMG! It was hysterical……….he says “”F**kin A*shole, I’m an eagle”………………………I about DIED!

Anyhow……….the woman fosters him and says he speaks over 400 phrases and probably 250 are along the same line………all swearing. How sad is that? Albeit, that bird TOTALLY TOOK me by surprise……….and I have to tell you….my hubby and I laughed all the way home with tears streaming down our faces………..but I felt so bad for that beautiful bird to be exploited. Funny thing is……..he said it so sweetly and just cocked his head and smiled nicely while he called me a F**kin A*shole…and said he was an eagle…………. A very gentle bird. Oh me oh my. She’ll have a hard time finding placement for him. But what an experience that was! TOTALLY took me by surprise. LOL

  51. Good Morning everyone!
Lavonda, very funny story! I don’t know if the bird is “exploited”. I would guess is more like the bird enjoys the reaction it gets !

  52. I don’t think she’ll have a hard time finding placement for that bird. I can think of a few people who would love such a bird!

  53. Someone could create a show around a bird like that……or wait…maybe that’s how he got rescued from abandonment.

  54. I think in the right place (adults only, maybe!) he would be a hit.

I don’t think he’d do as well at a church social.

    😀

  55. Oh, no! No church choir for this bird, maybe a tanning salon LOL… It is still weekend and the weather is beautiful!! Have a great day, everyoneeeee!!!!!

  56. LAV,

THOSE Birds are really neat. to have MY EX HUBBY had the african gray , and A cockatoo
BUT GOT STOLEN FROM OUR HOUSE , at the time he thinks his son had his friends steal them . and have not seen them since back in 96 to this day he does not know where they are.. but they are REGISTERED …
I had a cockatail , and his name was COCOa .. taught him how to talk ….

MY bird was with me untill I moved out here to az , WE thought he couldn’t take the long trip here he was 15yrs old at the time but a great bird I miss him lots…. but with good family ….

that was a CUTE story pretty funny I bet .. I can picture it….

  57. IMO birds are in the same category as cats: Pets I never want to own.

Worked for a family who had bird … feathers were everywhere. Grossed me out on birds completely.
