    Ok ACandyrose link for the search warrant isn’t available.

    As far as Drew knowing or not knowing if her FOID was up to date, or valid, how would he have known that?

    He wasnt working the department at that time, so he couldnt have run it. If she showed him an application, or even an older FOID card, what was he suppose to think.
    ——————————————–
    http://www.isp.state.il.us/foid/firearmsfaq.cfm

    Will I receive a notice that my FOID card will expire?
    Yes. The Department of State Police shall, 60 days prior to the expiration of a FOID card, forward by first class mail an application which may be used to apply for renewal of the card. It is the obligation of the holder of a FOID card to notify the Department of State Police of any address change since the issuance of the FOID card.

    Ok, just play along with me for a minute.

    Let’s pretend I have a gun, and a valid FOID. Tomorrow I find out my FOID is being revoked, what am I suppose to do with the gun that I have?

  3. I would think that if they took it to a gun dealer they could sell it with all the paper work that has to be done. Then everything would be on the up and up.

  4. I am not sure. I am just telling you my instincts on it. That would be the first thing I would do. That way everything is done the right way.

  5. That sounds reasonable.

    So now we know what Drew should have done.

    What do we do about the lady not knowing her birthdate and address?

    I’m not saying this in a cocky way, just trying to think what the defense will pick apart when she is on the stand is all.

  6. No you are making perfect sense, and that sounds like the right thing that should have been done.

  7. Well that would depend on the nature of the mistakes. Is there a number difference like a 2 instead of a 3 or just flat out lying?

  8. When I go to ACR, the link isnt enabled. I can’t click on it to get it.

    But thanks Harley, I read it from your post earlier.

    Um, here is a thought – TURN IT OVER TO LE????

    Especially since you had a warrant? To turn over …. “Any and ALL weapons…”

    Definiteley NOT transfer to someone without a valid FOID.

    …And come on… you expect anyone to believe that he didn’t know her FOID was invalid? GMAB!!

  10. I am trying to say my birth date is 6/02/1919 and my address is 105 N. Lies Lane and I accidentally read ahead and wrote my birth date as 1/05/1919 and living at 602 N. Lies Lane

  11. Just so everyone knows I am playing devils advocate tonight as to why someone might do something. I feel Drew is guilty or such an unlucky man that it would be better off for him to be in a jail cell with Bubba for the betterment of man kind.

    If I were in the shoes of Drew, smart thing would have been to give the gun to his lawyer.

    But he is not smart, he thinks that he is above the law and he thinks that he can outwit the LE.

    I feel that when LE do arrest him they will have smiles on their faces.

  13. HJ – yeah, pretty straight forward. DP knowingly hangs on to a gun that was to be part of a search warrant, loses his FOID, then transfers it over to another, paperwork and all, who then have it confiscated by ISP. Phewww. Mind you, the same gun that Mims said he had, that Brodsky said he didn’t, but he did.

    Do I have all that right?

  14. Yep. I believe you got it! And he had his son WITNESS said transfer!

    I hope you are not offended that I just proved the Urban legend “When Rescue asks for a new thread it magically happens”… is soooo not true! :mrgreen:

  15. HJ – you’re funny. I caught the “Urban Legend.” Thanks. At least the obvious isn’t so hidden that it’s not so hard for all to see. And they see very clearly. 🙂

  16. The warrant said all guns on the property, if Drew did not have the gun on the property but was storing it somewhere else at the time the warrant was issued he was under no legal obligation to turn it over to LE.

    I believe that is what Joel and Drew are saying, correct? That the gun was being stored somewhere else at the time of the warrant and that when Drew lost his FOID card he transfered it to someone he thought was a valid FOID holder.

    I’m going to read back on yesterday’s thread, but did I hear someone say that Brodsky says that the gun that Paula and Lenny had could not be the same gun Ric Mimms described because it was not a folding gun, or anything close to the gun he described?

    That’s confusing me.

  17. From acandyrose:

    A former friend of Drew Peterson said Wednesday [03/19/2008] that he was called into an Illinois State Police station and asked to identify a gun that Peterson allegedly still had after authorities seized his weapons.” – “Today, Illinois State Police recovered a pistol that they think was Drew’s. And it is his pistol,” Mims said. “It’s the same one that he pulled out when I was staying at his house. They’d already seized his other guns.”
    ——————————————————–
    According to Mims, DP showed him the gun after the police siezed the others while he was staying at his house. Sounds like DP could have had it on his person at the time ISP siezed the others and doesn’t sound from Mim’s statement that the gun was transferred to Paula at that time. Isn’t that considered withholding evidence, especially evidence they had a warrant for?

  18. I am S-

    Hi
    Jb said it isn’t the folding gun, but I think that’s what DP tells him, and he quotes the “transpher” note’s model number. I say it could be a mistake or deliberate deception that the number on the note represents a non-folding model. Don’t think JB’s seen the gun yet.

    It will be interesting when it all comes out!

  19. I’m trying to remember, but I thought I had read somewhere that Ric Mims said the gun he was talking about was one Drew wore strapped to his ankle. Don’t have time to research it this morning, and don’t remember right off hand if that’s where Drew pulled it from when he showed Mims. Anyone? Maybe LE didn’t seach Drew’s person when they were searching, but I sort of find that hard to believe. What if he did have a gun hidden somewhere on himself? Was Drew even in the house when it was being searched all of the times it was? I remember during the first search it was said he wouldn’t let LE seach Stacy’s car, nor the basement, or some other part of the house.

    BTW, he probably should have called his attorney and told him that he had the gun and what should he do with it. Maybe he did, and that’s why he signed it over to Paula. I don’t have a clue, but I bet it’s quite interesting around Lenny’s and Paula’s house this morning.
    Wonder how many more of Drew’s “friends” are going to be exposed by Ashley? Or rather I should say, Drew’s use of his friends for his own benefit.

    Lavanda, not trying to compete with you in the lengths of my posts…just so little time, and too much to say in one sitting 😀 Sorry guys.

    Will be gone most of the day, but I found it interesting that Ashley’s last post, and some of her prior posts that were dated in the early morning of April 11 were all prior to his appearance on Larry King that same night. No wonder he looked so tired and out of it. Some people even wrote that he looked as though he drugged or on tranquilizers. Probably just a lack of sleep and trying to keep his head on straight while answering LK’s questions and thinking about signaling Ashley at the same time.

    You all have a great day! Will be back when I can. 😀

  20. Did Drew actually have Kris WITNESS the transfer meaning that Kris signed as a witness?

    It doesn’t matter for my thought:

    And maybe this is just keeping sinister alive … but was it a subtle or not so subtle message to Kris that he could get a gun back from a friend if he needed to?

    Why Kris and not Thomas (okay maybe Thomas was not home) but Kris was the one who heard Stacy and Drew fighting, wasn’t he?

  21. Interesting Noway, but God I hope not. That really would be sinister….but who really understands how Drew thinks?

  22. Do any of you think that perhaps Ashley is embelishing her postings with DP? While I don’t doubt that they conversed, I do have some reservations about the authenticity of her postings.

  23. Kimmer … I have to admit the conversations seem to good to be true in that they talk about … well just the things that are in the news.

    But if the conversations were embellished, Joel would be saying so, wouldn’t he?

    He has admitted that Drew chatted with Ashley and has not commented at all on the content other than Drew was a jokester.

    Maybe “embellished” is not it … maybe more like “very well planned.” 😉

  24. Well, I believe that Ashley went into this to “set him up”…and it wasn’t with a date. *wink*

    I’m tending to believe it’s one of the old FSP posters that found a better way of getting to him and once FSP-the forum shut down, it was all to perfect timing. How long before she sells her story…or we just lose interest? I know I just can’t stomach her antics…very teeney-bopper-ish, as my mother would say, so I only get the bits and pieces that people bring.

  25. Good, facs. I was just catching up with everything … and wanted to chat with ya.

    Reading comments on Ashley’s … Drew said that Paula and Lenny are joined at the hip AND that Lenny is worse than him making him look like a choir boy.

    I don’t think that had to do with anything about Drew being a double murderer since Ashley said he never confessed.

    I think it has more to do with his attitude toward women and his cheating (which might explain why Paula wanted him at the hip).

    Wonder if Paula will be called back to the GJ? Or Lenny?

    Or Paula and Lenny?

    😀

  26. Laptop is doing better … not overheating … so maybe the cleaning helped even though it was not that dirty (considering it had not been cleaned lately). Thanks for asking. 🙂

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    MIMS: On Thursday, the 1st of November, the Illinois State Police issued a search warrant there at the house. I was the one that was there. Drew was down at the police department giving a statement. They came with the search warrant and one thing that I remember it read was turn over all weapons. To make a long story short, later that night, after everything had calmed down, we were sitting in the living room. Drew reaches down into his pants leg. He pulls out a little folding gun and goes, Hey, they didn`t find this one, and he starts chuckling. And state police was unaware of that.

    http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0803/21/ng.01.html

  28. Why would a man whose wife ran off with another man be acting like this … hiding weapons and threatening to take hostages?

    Anyone?

  29. Hi All,

    Noway, can you say guilty? LOL……Just dropping in to say hello to all of you that were former FSP people and to those who are new here. I have had so busy past few months , however, I have been keeping up on reading here and other blogs/forums when I get the chance. Hope everyone is doing great and I hope to be able to chat more with you all.

  30. It’s really a crying shame that Ashley didn’t go to the Law rather than the route she chose. Even though I am of the believe she has nothing substantial to help located Stacy’s body or prove his guilt.

    The fact that she toots her own horn to being very computer savvy and that she “somehow” obtained his receipt, which if you think about it had to come directly from him (doubtful) or someone hacked into his email (more likely) I would think it now offers the defense the argument that ANY thing Drew has done or said electronically can be questioned that it was not him but a hacker.

  31. Drew certainly does not need help making himself look sinister, does he? I don’t read at Ashley’s since my eyes were burned reading the foul stuff… I really don’t even care about her unless she knows and has proof that Drew is responsible for the disappearance of Stacy or the murder of Kathleen.

  32. teneleven … I don’t think computer hacking is on her list of qualifications.

    But … we’ll see when all is revealed.

    Maybe Ashley is Paula. Ah … sweet revenge. 😀

  33. Hmmm, Noway,

    I think I agree that Ashley’s conversations were neatly planned. Seems odd to me that she would say her friend fancied Lenny from the television pics. (anyone else find him “cute”?). Sounds like she was digging (subtly) (ish) trying to find out more about him/ who he is. I think Lenny may have been on a road trip before with Drew. For three days ?

    ******************************************

    This statement made me sick. What makes me sick is that it is probably true. Why in the world would a child need to witness a gun transfer? Just pure evil!! Would Kris witnessing the transfer of the gun even be legal or was he there just for dear ole dad to let him know who was in “charge”.

    Another thing I noticed while reading is that I should never post that late at night even if I am having trouble sleeping.

  35. bucket of tea: I agree with you. Last night’s post at Ashley’s seemed to me as she was really pushing for him to say something of importance.

    JOLIET — In May, the lawyers representing Drew Peterson and his uncle asked a Will County judge to stop the court proceedings in Kathleen Savio’s newly reopened probate case until a later date.

    Around 3 p.m. Wednesday, they changed their minds.

    » Click to enlarge image

    JOLIET — Initially, lawyers representing Drew Peterson wanted to stop court proceedings in Kathleen Savio’s newly reopened probate case until a later date. On Wednesday, they changed their minds to encourage a wrongful death lawsuit, which would allow his attorney to question state police and others.

    Joel Brodsky sent a fax to the Savio family’s lawyers explaining that he had withdrawn his motion for a stay of the proceedings — meaning his earlier request to bring the reopened probate case to a grinding halt. The Savio family wanted to activate the probate case so they could investigate the possibility of filing a wrongful death lawsuit in the 2004 death of the 40-year-old Bolingbrook woman. If that happens, it’s fine with Brodsky.

    “It is more like a gift than a problem,” he said Thursday morning.

    A wrongful death lawsuit would give him the opportunity to depose — or question — the state police and others to find out what they know.

    “It would almost be like a private grand jury,” Brodsky said.

    In his dreams. He’ll be facing murder charges first. That, also, is a good way to find out what LE have.
    🙂

  37. myblueshark // July 17, 2008 at 1:32 pm

    I find it curious that jb withdrew the motion. Maybe they feel the need to prioritize and are preparing for something bigger?
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    I think JB is looking at this angle:

    “It is more like a gift than a problem,” he said Thursday morning.

    A wrongful death lawsuit would give him the opportunity to depose — or question — the state police and others to find out what they know.

  38. I’m pretty sure he was going to lose this one, and he knew it. Who said the wrongful death suit was going to be filed anytime soon? Like I said…in his dreams.

  39. um…I think the statute of limitation says 3 years for wrongful death. There was talk about that early on, but as the death wasn’t ruled a non-accident until then, I think that means they’ve got 2 1/2 years to go. No hurry.

  40. bucketoftea // July 17, 2008 at 1:51 pm

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Yes I would think the 2 1/2 years seems right. Besides after the criminal trial is over dp can’t take the 5th in a civil suit.
  41. I think there’s even a chance that JB never intended to follow this through. It’s a trick to withdraw at the 11th hour just to mess with the other side, because they’ve still had to prepare and make room in their diary….it’s just the kind of guy he is.
  42. Good link. Thanks 10/11!
    The comments are particularly interesting.
    I notice Joel has a conversation going on in the comments area with a commenter named TheBronze.
    Fascinating stuff.
  43. Afternoon All –
    Just a bit off topic, but do any of you know anything about Paul Huebl who runs that crimefilenews?
  45. Ok, he is shall we say “very colorful.”
    He has an alter ego, Zelda I believe her name is. He loves to cross dress and act like a reporter. It’s some really bizzare stuff. He dresses as Zelda, and then videotapes himself in front of Marilyn Monroes Grave….soooooo very odd!!!!
  46. Yeah, I think I can live the rest of my life without seeing Paul, or Zelda, whomever he is on any given day….lol.
    He attented the Phil Spector Trial, and would wear t-shirts, and buttons that said “Free Phil Spector”
    Strange, strange Duck.
  47. I should have added to empty your bladder before you go there, you will laugh so hard you will cry.
  48. I’m gonna post a sort of long exchange – if it’s too long gatehouse – just delete and my apologies!
  49. Facs, that is an interesting exchange. I can see where both of them are coming from, as far as reading the law, but it tends to get a bit confusing.
  50. Thanks for the link. I went a bit cross-eyed the first time I read it, but second time through, I think The Bronze wins. I hope we’ll be able to see/ read the court arguments. Faskinating.
  51. Sorry it took so long get a grand jury update to ya’ll. Just got back from Joliet and out of this ridiculous heat. Anyway, several sources confirmed that Mike Robinson testified today. We were not, however, able to see him enter or exit the building.
  52. That’s interesting timing, Gatehouse. Didn’t he just have (or is about to have) a court date for his own charges?
    Thanks for the update!
    Thanks gatehouse 🙂
    Facs – I think Mike’s next court date is the 22nd. Should be interesting.
  54. Hi bucket 🙂
    I have always thought it was possible for the media to miss someone they didn’t recognize as one of the main players. NO offense to the media – especially Gatehouse who has done a great job of keeping us updated.
    Paula and Lenny were there one day – I don’t remember the specifics if they testified or not.
  55. Here a video of the day that Drew got his cars back. Is that Lenny?
    h ttp://video.nbc5.com/player/?id=230315#videoid=230315
  56. gatehousechicago // July 17, 2008 at 6:05 pm
    Actually, that should say, they told reporters they were not needed and did not testify.
    _______________
    So they may have testified and just didn’t want to talk to anyone or have anyone wonder what they said.
    Or maybe they didn’t want Drew to know?
    So they may have testified and just didn’t want to talk to anyone or have anyone wonder what they said.
    ****************************
    Or maybe they came back another time but they were in disguise.
  58. Just threw the attribution in there to be safe. They told reporters they did not testify. At the time, the press knew they were friends of Drew but they declined to identify themselves.
  59. If Mike Robinson testified before the Grand Jury today, this would be the third time? Twice in January and then today. He must have quite a bit of information to testify 3 times. I wonder if he will be on one of the arrest warrants. 😉
  60. Noway, we just had a bank robber here arrested yesterday that they nicknamed Groucho because he would wear a Groucho moustache during the hold ups….lol.
  61. Noway – I thought the issue about MRobinson testifying was in question. I checked candyrose, and it has an unknown date in January, so that’s where I must have gotten that idea.
    Guess what I mean is I don’t know, but just sharing what I’ve come to find.
  62. Noway:
    Mike Robinson testified once in January 2008.
    However, he was subpoenaed a second time by the GJ after he testified- he was served the 2nd subpoena whilst in jail on the DV/etc. charges also in January 2008.
    To my knowledge, *if* he indeed was testifying before the GJ today (and not about the DV charges), it was as the result of the second served subpoena.
  63. Letthetruthbefree has a problem with the truth. For the record, I never attended one day of the Spector trial! I was getting my information for my blog by live streaming video of the trial and by telephone from various sources.
    I have gone to the court for a couple post trial Spector case matters not broadcast. When I go to court I always wear a suit without messages, or buttons because it’s very inappropriate to do otherwise. A person wearing buttons described by Letthetruthbefree would not be admitted to any courtroom in America. That makes that goofy claim impossible.
    I am a freelance TV news investigative producer and have covered many major crime stories and trials for networks and local TV stations. I’ve done Spector story strictly for my blog
    I am convinced that Phil Spector is innocent and that Lana Clarkson died by her own hand either by a reckless act or suicide while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
    If you check the Zelda ptomotional site you will see that the videos were the product of a production company. I did not tape myself.
    That show was created to make money and I sincerely hope it gets a good laugh. Funny is money in Hollywood. Zelda and I love money and bringing a little laughter to people in this very troubling world.
  64. Welcome Crimefile and Zelda. The above link didn’t work to Zelda’s site. I really want to check it out. I missed the Spector trial, but my brother gave me frequent updates.
    The rest of you “hens” I’ve been lurking for the past month and a half, and I finally got logged-in. just kidding about the hens part. I just remember the term being used earlier, and a few feathers getting ruffled. I come in peace.
  65. It was the last dot after com, that was getting me nowhere. I finally got the Zelda link to work. Nice fishnets.
