    As someone who has gone thru a few “episodes” with her sister who is bipolar with OCD etc etc…
    Casey sounds very much like an out of control person who is bipolar. Thankfully what my sister did before being diagnosed was not murder…nevertheless, her “out of control” spiral deeply affected us all.
    Her parents remind me of my dad who stuck his head in the sand and refused to let my sister get the therapy she needed years ago.

    Just do not see a “happy ending” coming from this one.

    ***

    RockNRescue – I also have a sister that has been diagnosed as bipolar and I see some similarities in the combination of the family dynamics and Casey’s reactions to how my sister sometimes acts. The lying and “what about me” things are particularly similar. And the family seems to be trying so hard to pick up the pieces for Casey yet she shows no signs of appreciation. I do think it is a combination of having their heads in the sand – combined with fear of what she’d do with the little one if they didn’t help out so much.

    We’ve been living with my sister’s illness for over 20 years now and it is one of the roughest rides you could ever imagine. My sister did go to counseling – but there are no methods for ensuring an adult takes their medications and many bipolar people turn to illegal drugs to self-medicate and don’t realize how messed up they are when they decide to stop taking their prescribed meds.

    Questions abound over initial probe of Kathleen Savio’s death Family members wonder why investigators quickly thought foul play didn’t kill 3rd wife of Drew Peterson

    By Erika Slife and Matthew Walberg | Chicago Tribune reporters
    August 18, 2008

    When Kathleen Savio’s lifeless body was discovered in the empty bathtub of her Bolingbrook home in 2004, state police immediately decided her death was not suspicious, a Will County deputy coroner’s report obtained by the Tribune shows.

    The investigators and experts re-examining her death as a possible murder are now asking how police could have been so quick to overlook signs that something sinister may have happened to the third wife of Drew Peterson, then a sergeant for the Bolingbrook Police Department.

    They are suspicious about the absence of blood residue or a sediment ring on the walls of the tub where she was found, sources said. If she had bled from a head wound while drowning in slowly draining water—as the theory went—why was the tub not stained?

    No towels or clothes were in the bathroom where she was discovered, a paramedic noted. Shampoo bottles were in upright positions along the small tub, unlikely if she had suffered a fall, according to a source. Books and papers were spread across her unmade bed and a picture was facedown on the floor near the nightstand, according to Illinois State Police reports also obtained by the Tribune.

    Although a state police crime-scene technician had covered Savio’s hands with bags to preserve evidence—a procedure that typically precedes a homicide investigation—the statements of police that night indicated no evidence of trauma or foul play, according to the deputy coroner’s report.

    An autopsy would show a 40-year-old woman in good health had drowned. A coroner’s jury ruled her death an accident after a state police special agent testified Savio had probably fallen, hit her head and drowned in the water before it leaked out the drain.

    But the case was reopened in November after Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy, then 23, disappeared Oct. 28. Authorities named Peterson the prime suspect in her disappearance, and in February, State’s Atty. James Glasgow called the Savio inquiry a murder investigation after a second autopsy indicated her death was a homicide. Glasgow said it appeared the scene was staged to look like an accidental drowning.

    Peterson, 54, has not been named a suspect in Savio’s case. He has denied any wrongdoing.

    The police reports confirm speculation that Stacy Peterson gave him his principal alibi for his whereabouts in the days before Savio was discovered. The reports also show he was walking around the scene before state police arrived. At one point, he was alone in the bathroom with Savio’s body and told emergency responders, “This is my ex-wife. Treat the scene with respect.”

    According to a report from that night, Deputy Coroner Mike VanOver asked Robert Deel, a crime scene technician for the state police, and “detectives if there was any reason to believe that this was a traumatic death and they stated NO, therefore the homicide/suspicious death protocol was not followed.”

    VanOver wrote in his report that he had notified his superiors that “the protocol was not being followed . . . because it was felt at that time by all parties that there were not signs of foul play or trauma for this death investigation.”

    Only a streak of blood was found in the tub, according to VanOver’s report, police documents and testimony by the state police special agent at the coroner’s inquest.

    State police Lt. Scott Compton declined to comment on why his agency’s technicians and investigators concluded the death was not suspicious, noting that crime-scene technicians “make observations and document those observations as part of their investigation and processing of a crime scene.” He declined to comment further.

    In an interview with the Tribune, VanOver said he was following the direction of state police. The coroner’s office has been under fire for its role in Savio’s investigation. On Monday, the Republican-controlled Will County Board will consider putting a referendum measure on the November ballot asking voters whether the elected coroner, now Democrat Patrick O’Neil, should be replaced by an appointed medical examiner.

    “When they bagged the hands, that was when I asked the question, you know, ‘Do you think anything is out of whack here?’ ” VanOver said. “Bob Deel was asked by me if he thought there was anything hinky here, and stuff like that, and if we should be doing something different, and I was told no.”

    Deel could not be reached for comment.

    Savio’s body was found March 1, 2004, in a semifetal position on her left side, according to the reports. Neighbors discovered the body after Peterson contacted them because he couldn’t get ahold of her to drop off their two children from a weekend visit. About 10:40 p.m., a locksmith let them into Savio’s home, and Peterson waited outside while neighbors went into the house. He rushed inside after one of them screamed.

    Illinois State Police arrived about midnight, after Bolingbrook police called them.

    Police interviewed Stacy Peterson for one hour March 3. She said she and her husband had spent the weekend with the children, backing up Peterson’s statements made to police a day earlier. She said they had spent Saturday hanging around the house and had gone to the Shedd Aquarium Sunday. The only time Peterson left was Sunday morning to get doughnuts. Savio was found the next day, a Monday.

    Peterson told police during his 65-minute interview that his divorce from Savio was “difficult at times,” but that their “relationship had gotten a lot better” after he married Stacy.

    Savio’s relatives, who were never convinced she died in an accidental drowning, said police ignored their suspicions. For one thing, said Savio’s older sister, Anna Doman, her body was found with short fingernails.

    “It looked like somebody had cut her nails. She always let her nails grow; she was into that natural, long nail,” Doman said.

    Doman said no one in her family was interviewed by state police. She said authorities ignored her request to look through a suitcase full of documents Savio had saved regarding her ongoing fight with Peterson.

    Savio’s body was found weeks before their divorce’s financial settlement was to be finalized.

    “We tried to get somebody to at least look, investigate,” Doman said. “Nothing, nothing, nothing.”

  3. Good morning.

    Yeah, there is some new stuff. Interesting that if Kathleen was bleeding while dying in a tub full of water, there would have been a stain, or “ring” left behind.

    Although, it’s obvious anyway that she was murdered. I think that’s clear. It’s more “who done it” that’s the question.

    Maybe LE is ready to charge someone for her murder soon.

    Joel knows all about “voice tapes” and wants you to know that it’s not so much the content but the character of the people doing the recording and/or transcribing that counts!

    ” Joel A. Brodsky said…
    The issue of voice tapes is something I have had to deal with over the years. To a great extent the relevance and the accuracy of what is on voice tapes depends on the credibility of the people making the tapes and the motivations and biases of those processing and transcribing the tapes. The fact remains that there is no silver bullet in a criminal investigation. Everything is open to question, and should be questioned.

    August 17, 2008 10:15 AM”

    ________________________

    RE: Facsmiley’s post from the 17th above:

    If anyone does recall, the validity of the voice on the tapes should be no problem due to the fact that Lenny, in one news interview, stated that they had a camera stationed at their home while they were doing the voice wire taps.

    Perhaps in a stuffed animal on a shelf if memory serves? Maybe a Sponge Bob?

  5. Poor Joel

    There’s not going to be any getting around the tapes validity and all.

    What else can they say? They were rehearsing a play called If I Did It?

    I just remembered that when the police got hold of the folding gun Drew griped that the way they did it was “shady”…hahaha he didn’t know quite how “shady”.(tapes)

  6. I took Joel’s statement to be more a bit of wishful thinking than anything else. The recordings were done as part of a State Police investigation…not some kid setting up a sting to see which of his roommates is using his toothbrush.

    “The people making the tapes” are Illinois law enforcement. If he wants to question their credibility, bias and motivations he’s free to – but I don’t think the jurors will share his concerns.

  7. I think he probably cut her nails so that none of his DNA from underneath them would be found in case she scratched him.

  8. I also remember thinking I wonder if they found a pile of her offed clothes near the tub, but, apparently not. I would have asked that at the death investigation if it was brought up that the death may have been questionable.

  9. No doubt LE has the goods on how Kathleen died. By who’s hands is the question.

    After hearing Lenny & Paula say Peterson ridiculed the police because Kathleen was found dead in an empty bathtub, I have no doubt now that he was surprised her death was ruled an accident. No doubt, either, that he probably figured since he had an alibi, her bf would be the next likely suspect. Even more convinced now because, if you recall, Brodsky made an issue in pubic saying how he’d have advised Kathleen’s bf to lawyer up and take the Fifth at the GJ, when it was publicized that her bf did, in fact, appear as a witness before the GJ.

    Now, who’s investigating the police that bungled that whole death investigation up?

  10. So, now, it was pointed out that there were no discarded clothes, and Pastor Schori said that Stacy told him she found Drew throwing women’s clothes in the washing machine. The initial pictures and reports don’t lie, and, of course, without knowing any of this, Pastor Schori made the revelation that Stacy told him about the clothes……

  11. I have been reading this blog since the case on Drew started and I must say that you guys are very informative. I can hardly wait to get to work so I can sign on and see whats new. I hope you don’t mind if I put in my two cents worth every now and again……

  12. Rescue – “without knowing any of this, Pastor Schori made the revelation that Stacy told him about the clothes……”

    To me, that statement goes a long way in proving the pastor’s credibility. It was hearsay and Stacy will never get the chance to restate this in court, but if the hearsay law passes…

  13. Facsmiley – agreed it goes a long way. It’s right on target. No clothes found, yet she was found nude in a bath tub by “drowning.” That scenario defies logic, especially when coupled with Pastor Schori learning what Stacy told him.

    Besides, what did she hit the back of her head on, with nothing surrounding the bath tub, to then cause her to spin around and fall forward into the bath tub, that was supposedly full of water (investigators????). WTH?

  14. just read on the Scared Monkeys site that two volunteer searchers found two backpacks that had size 5 womens clothing and some childrens clothing. The police came and took away the evidence, but they don’t know if it has anything to do with the Caley Anthony case or not.

  15. Hey everyone,
    It’s been a bit of a hectic day over here so we haven’t had time to get the County Board story done yet. In the meantime, here’s a very quick rundown:
    After about 2 hours of public and board member testimony, the board voted 14-12 against putting the referendum on the ballot. That means the county’s current elected coroner system will stay in place. Several officials said they would still like to explore the appointed medical examiner option for future ballots.

    We’ll have more later tonight.

    County officials nix vote on medical examiner

    August 18, 2008Recommend

    By STEWART WARREN / SWARREN@SCN1.COM
    JOLIET — After a nearly two-hour special meeting Monday, a Will County Board Committee of the Whole rejected the idea of a vote at Thursday’s regular board meeting to put the medical examiner issue to a referendum.

    Much of Monday’s meeting was taken up by speakers urging the board to ask voters whether they would be in favor of replacing an elected county coroner with an appointed medical examiner. The issue has gained momentum because of the disappearance of Drew Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy, and the reclassification of his third wife’s death from accidental to homicide.

    Among the petitioners was Stacy Peterson’s aunt Candace Aikin, who sent a letter from El Monte, Calif., urging the referendum.

    After rejecting the idea of a vote on the referendum Thursday by a 14-12 tally, county officials hinted they may form a special committee to investigate the issue further.

    The feds need to investigate ISP and Will County.

    ~~~~~~~
    I believe the FBI probably are investigating the investigators.
    Feds take look at Savio case
    December 15, 2007
    By JOE HOSEY Natasha Korecki and Stefano Esposito Staff writer and sun-times news group
    Federal investigators are taking a look at the 2004 death of Kathleen Savio and the police investigation that followed the mysterious drowning of Savio, Drew Peterson’s third wife.
    Their effort, according to a law enforcement source, will include reviewing documents related to Savio’s death, which initially was ruled an accident.
    The FBI has been assisting the state police in their probe into the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, the former Bolingbrook police sergeant’s current wife. The feds’ interest in Savio’s death comes as Will County officials are reviewing the 2004 coroner jury’s conclusion in the case. Savio’s body was exhumed, but the results of a new autopsy have not yet been made public.
    State and local officials are facing criticism from Savio’s family, who question why investigators for years largely ignored their suspicion that Savio was murdered.
    In mid-November, Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow acknowledged what the Savios long suspected.
    There are strong indications [Savio’s] death was a homicide, Glasgow said.
    At the time, Glasgow said more forensic testing was needed to determine whether the drowning was staged.
    Will County Coroner Patrick O’Neil added that certain of the Savio case raise concerns. He said her death should have been ruled, at the very least, undetermined but that he was bound by the coroner jury’s ruling of accidental.
    A Will County judge consequently ordered Savio’s remains exhumed. At the request of the Savio family, renowned forensic pathologist Michael Baden also examined the body. Baden concluded that the case should be reclassified a homicide.
    Savio’s family said this week they have not been told when the official autopsy results might be made public.
    FBI spokesman Ross Rice denied the agency was involved in the Savio investigation. The FBI does not have jurisdiction to investigate homicides, and we are continuing to assist Illinois State Police into the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, Rice said.
    But the FBI could have jurisdiction over how a death was investigated back in 2004, when the coroner’s jury ruled Savio’s death an accidental drowning, her family didn’t believe the findings and said they felt certain Drew Peterson was involved.
    Drew Peterson has denied having anything to do with either Savio’s death or his current wife’s disappearance.
  18. Thanks hedidit and 1tank for posting those articles.
    Okay, so was the death investigation a cover-up, or poor police work?
    If it was a cover up, why? Who the hell is Drew Peterson that the chain of events concerning the death investigation occurred? Who and what does he know about anybody or anything to warrant a “pass” like this?
    Poor police work? A cop on the death investigation panel that wasn’t even at the crime scene; reports that phone records were subpoenaed to corroborate Peterson’s whereabouts during the time Kathleen died but weren’t; ignoring Kathleen’s sister’s concerns and even written proof of the suspicion of Drew’s involvement. Is this poor police work or more cover-up?
  19. I think an investigation is just that – an investigation. Can’t really know until they complete their findings it would seem.
  20. Think how bazaar this all sounds.
    Where would KS have “hit” her head and get a bleeding gash, to then cause her to wander to, of all places, a water-filled bath tub, to then fall into it face down?
    Unless she had some “equipment” hanging from the ceiling that surrounded the bath tub to bash the back of her head on, what explanation is there. Also, this “equipment” would have had to vanish up into the ceiling once Drew, Carcerano, Mary and the cops got there……
    If she hit her head while sitting in the bathtub, about the only thing I can imagine she’d hit her head on is the faucet, which would’ve been behind her while she was sitting in the tub. If she was sitting in the tub, how did she “slip” and hit the back of her head? No towels nearby though and no discarded clothes to indicate she was even in the bath tub.
    So, if she would hit her head on the faucet behind her head, she would’ve had to then stand up, turn around, and fall back in? It’s crazy!!!!!
    Now, if LE had gotten there once they were called and took it a step further by seeing that it looked staged, they would have first suspected DP as the possible murderer. He had it all wrapped-up, though, in a neat little package, because he had his alibi, and he wasn’t the first one into the house to “find” her. Of course, he’d be the prime suspect, because he was the “husband.” But, assuming he’s so smart, he would’ve helped, I’m sure, in any way he could, to point the cops to her boyfriend, Steve.
    Group cites Peterson, Savio case as need for appointed medical examiner
    Board denies the group’s effort to get referendum on Nov. ballot
    August 18, 2008Recommend
    BY DAN ROZEK Staff Reporter
    Friends and relatives of Stacy Peterson pushed for the referendum, but Will County board members today rejected a proposal to ask voters if they favor replacing the elected coroner with an appointed medical examiner.
    Board members voted 14-12 against putting a referendum question on the November ballot that would seek voters’ approval to abolish the coroner’s office now held by Democrat Patrick O’Neil and replace him with a professional medical examiner.
    But the debate quickly became entwined in the notorious 2007 disappearance of the Bolingbrook woman, whose husband, Drew Peterson, has been named a suspect by police–and the 2004 death of Kathleen Savio, Drew Peterson’s third wife.
    Savio was found drowned in her bathtub in March 2004–a death that a coroner’s jury at that time concluded was an accident. After 23-year-old Stacy Peterson vanished last Oct. 28, Savio’s death was re-investigated and authorities now say she was murdered.
    Nearly a dozen friends and relatives of Stacy Peterson attended the county hearing in support of the referendum, arguing the mistake they attributed at least partly to the coroner’s office contributed to Peterson’s disappearance.
    “I believe in my heart that had Kathleen Savio’s case been properly handled, my sister would most likely be alive today,” Peterson’s sister, Cassandra Cales, told county board members. “I cannot help thinking about that on a regular basis and believe that no family member should suffer the emotional roller-coaster that I have been on the last 10 months.”
    Several county board members who backed the referendum also cited that case, contending it showed the coroner’s system needs to be replaced.
    “Clearly, something went wrong four or five years ago,” said Republican board member Kathleen Konicki, referring to the Savio case. “I can’t get away with telling my citizens we have a great system. It failed.”
    O’Neil didn’t specifically address the Savio case, but said replacing an elected coroner with a professional medical examiner wouldn’t change or improve the way deaths are investigated in the county.
    “The simple answer is nothing would be different in terms of the process and functions we use in Will County,” O’Neil said. “The cost would be higher and the results would be the same.”
    Questions about the costs of shifting to a medical examiner system were cited by several board members who voted against putting the question on the ballot.
    There was a political element to the vote, with all 12 votes in favor of putting the question before voters coming from Republican board members. Seven Democrats who voted against the referendum were joined by 7 Republican board members.
    Neighbor Sharon Bychowski said Peterson’s relatives and friends won’t abandon their efforts to change the system in Will County.
    “We’re a little disappointed the voters won’t get to choose, but we’re not going to give up,” Bychowski said.
  22. I wonder…..How many more case will they royally FRICK up before there is a change ?
    Sometimes the government just really pisses me off ! 😦
  23. Hi, Wonder. Naw, they won’t screw up anymore cases, as long as Drew Peterson doesn’t take on a new Mrs. Peterson, only to wipe her off the face of the earth.
  24. Bizarre is an understatement.
    This is just one more time Will County shows its corruption.
    They covered the murder because they did not want a light shown upon the BPD. BPD knew full well that Drew was regularly knocking KS around, but did nothing. The DA’s office (proven by the letter KS sent) swept her under the rug.
    If KS’ case had been done right, Drew would be behind bars. Stacy should have told. Steven should have told. Jennifer should have told. But no, they helped it along.
    For financial gain, nothing else.
    Will County is as corrupt as Cook and as corrupt as IL in general.
    Disgusting, moreso than bizarre.
  25. Hi everybody
    Amanda,
    I think fear has more to do with those around DP than avarice. I wouldn’t like to judge the victims in any way.
    Do you recall Tom Morphey saying to his friend that he was terrified of Drew because “he’s very powerful” Sorta looks like, huh, if you get away with failing to report a bribe, selling police info, undertaking a forbidden high speed chase, bouncing checks, “date” underage girls, rate a cover-up when you kill the mother of 2 of your children.
    Anyone feel like casting the first stone?
  26. Rescue-this is NOT all about Drew!! What about the Savio family? You may be thinking that anything and everything pertains to DP but it does not! I am sure that there have been other deaths that have been handled improperly. In addition, Stacy wouldn’t be dead if they handled the Savio investigation/death properly! 👿
    Amanda-your post was great. Thank you for having some sense.
    My thoughts and prayers go out to the Savio’s today. The IL system, BBPD, Will County and many others have failed that family, time and time again! They do not deserve this, Kathleen didn’t deserve it and the Savio’s deserve JUSTICE 👿
    Stacy Peterson didn’t “deserve” this to happen to her and if the stupid coroner would have done is damn job, STACY WOULD BE HERE WITH US TODAY!
    Also, it affects 4 children, many family members and many, many more people!! It’s nieve to think that this is all about DREW…it is not. I am sure that there have been many, many cases that they have F’ed up’d!!! 👿
    TY ducky. ILY. Not in a gay way, just in sensibility.
    They love me too. What they think are slaps, I take as love-bites and pats on my back.
    Why?
    Because I have a CLUE.
    ———————————————————
    Well, IMO you shouldn’t have to take the bites, the bashing or anything else. It is not right. Forgive me, but everyone here should knock that crap off. You may say that YOU love it, but I think that it’s terrible and have thought it for a long time. I don’t like to read it, both sides of it. We have news today and it turns into smart @ss remarks towards one poster. ILY-haha! That is pushing it. LOL
    I am sure that I will become their next target.
  32. bucket, I’m sorry, I missed your post.
    Believe me, I am not slamming Stacy Peterson, except to point out the obvious. She did not deserve to have her life taken away. Never in a million years do I mean it that way.
    But the reality, according to Schori, and I believe him, is that Stacy knew Drew killed Kathleen.
    I may have done what she did in the same circumstance, or maybe not, I do not know.
    What I DO know is that BPD screwed up, ISP screwed up, the Coroner screwed up. Not because they are STUPID. They did this because they are CORRUPT.
  33. Ducky – without even addressing one another, I believe Amanda and I DID AGREE on the Kathleen Savio mess.
    So, if you go back and read the posts of the day, you will note that neither Amanda nor I conversed with one another.
    Your tantrum is without merit. I might also point out that, since you are so dissatisfied with the bashing, Amanda will have to admit that she does it too. It’s just that her posts usually have to be deleted.
  34. Well, don’t call out to Danya. I learned the hard way she won’t cover for me.
    The reason for that is because I told the truth about the fund. They all know it, it is a series of simple phone calls to check. Yes, I did see the paperwork filed in January (and they didn’t qualify).
    None of the press want to acknowledge that backasswards mess of lies.
    But either way…. Drew Peterson needs to pay *if* he did this, and I am afraid that trial by media spoils the trial.
    Like Simpson. Like Blake. Like Spector. Like Jackson.
    Every now and then you get a good outcome (Scott Peterson) when the circus is in town, but more often they muddy it too badly.
  35. Apologies to all.
    Amanda – I read your post as implying Stacy had been complicit in covering Kathleen’s murder (by remaining silent) due to greed and I just had a visceral response.
    Your group is not only informed, but informative and I appreciate the effort and passion in your posts.
    Truly sorry to have offended.
Amanda has admitted that in the PAST she has made comments to you, but as of late-IMO, you are the first one that is always saying something. Why don’t YOU be the hero and put an end to it all? No comments about Amanda, just agree/disagree with her posts regarding WHAT SHE SAYS. Make sense?
    Again, this was my post to you earlier. Learn to read and post accordingly. Temper tantrum-that would be you and your constant crying to Gatehouse/Danya.
    MY POST TO RESCUE to her post at the top of this post…
    duckyone // August 18, 2008 at 5:33 pm
    Rescue-this is NOT all about Drew!! What about the Savio family? You may be thinking that anything and everything pertains to DP but it does not! I am sure that there have been other deaths that have been handled improperly. In addition, Stacy wouldn’t be dead if they handled the Savio investigation/death properly!
    Amanda-your post was great. Thank you for having some sense.
    My thoughts and prayers go out to the Savio’s today. The IL system, BBPD, Will County and many others have failed that family, time and time again! They do not deserve this, Kathleen didn’t deserve it and the Savio’s deserve JUSTICE
    Stacy Peterson didn’t “deserve” this to happen to her and if the stupid coroner would have done is damn job, STACY WOULD BE HERE WITH US TODAY!
    Also, it affects 4 children, many family members and many, many more people!! It’s nieve to think that this is all about DREW…it is not. I am sure
    NO MENTION OF YOU AND AMANDA!! Read before YOU attack.
    Coffee-thank you for being mature enough and conversing. Sorry that I came on so strong but I’m sure that you can see all of our frustrations at the continual attacks on a poster…without the topic being discussed. 🙂
    Hiya rescue! (ruffle, ruffle)
    rescueapet // August 18, 2008 at 6:07 pm
    Hi ya bucket, LOL.
    ———————————————————
    DO YOU THINK HELPS!? GROW UP AND TALK ABOUT THE CASE. ANOTHER PERSONAL ATTACK.
    Hey Gatehouse/Danya-why are you allowing this to continue?? Really?
  39. LOL, Ducky, bucket means she wants to “scratch” some ears when she looks at the doggie avatars. Nothing to do with anybody. That was certainly not a personal attack. In fact, bucket mentioned that here a few days ago. She wanted an avatar that insinuated she wants people to send her chocolate.
    Oh, boy, Ducky. You’ve sure made a mess of things.
  40. Oh rescue, just let it alone.
    Let’s go back to the Coroner appointed-not-elected.
    That is a shame, a damn shame. 14-12 is close.
    It just shows how ingrained the corruption and cya is in that county. There is no denying that now.
    All they asked was a referendum on the ballot.
    A CHOICE.
    Ducky – I think you may even have Amanda scratching her head. Maybe not, but I would think so.
    Hi, Wonder. Naw, they won’t screw up anymore cases, as long as Drew Peterson doesn’t take on a new Mrs. Peterson, only to wipe her off the face of the earth.
    ———————————————————-
    I NEVER SAID ANYTHING TO YOU ABOUT AMANDA! So…read before you attack me. My response about Amanda was to Coffee.
    Amanda-don’t be thinking that I like you. LOL. I am just sick of this garbage. Oh…and they didn’t listen to anything, as bucket and Rescue just did it again.
  42. chicago has been corupt for along time since my step dad lived there, even back in the 80.s and it is bad enough when those elected officials will not listen at all. they need to listen to the citizens of that state on this issue, even obama will not help in this issue either. it is all polictical gains for them selfs….
    then need someone like dr. baden doing it. most other states have what he is and illinoise does not.. wonder if a petition would help if it was signed with alot of sigs..
  43. You are all righ-we need to move forward. Rescue-stop your insinuations. Innocent and nieve don’t work with me. It may fool others but please stop.
    Back to the topic:
    What is the next step to stop the corruption in Will County?
    I wonder how long it will take to get the hearsay law signed? I hope and pray that it is quickly. Something needs to go in the right direction in IL.
  44. I disagree with Amanda.
    Because Drew killed Stacy we never got to ask her why she stayed with him after she learned he killed Kathleen.
    Was it out of fear?
    Did he have her convinced she could not prove it?
    Did he have her convinced he had so many friends in high places she had no chance of proving it?
    Did he have her convinced he would take her child if she did or do him harm?
    Until Amanda can prove Stacy stayed for the money it is simply speculation on her part and not fact and we will never know the truth because Drew killed her.
  45. Hey Iknow-I think that most everything is specualation at this point since the ISP has been so closed-mouth about this case. I guess that we will all find out the facts at trial or when the ISP decides to release the facts/evidence.
    Aren’t we all just speculating and assuming most of our opinions?
    Does anyone know how many people were present today? Has it been released in the news? I am searching….
  46. Wow – what have I stepped into?
    I can’t stay long (birthday things to attend to) but reading back it looks to me like problems started with coffeecity’s post about biting her tongue.
    Coffe is new here and she’s said several times that she’s afraid to say the wrong thing and be ‘yelled at’. I think some may have over-responded to her post about holding her tongue. I hope she hasn’t been completely put off now. 🙂
    Other than that, I don’t see a reason for the Big Hullabaloo. Looks like everyone’s being civil (at least compared back to the good old days in April when it was pretty much a free-for-all here).
    It’s fine to call on Danya if we need something to be deleted (like private info..etc.) but I can’t even see any posts that come near to breaking the TOC (unless they were already deleted?).
    I’ll come and read later when I get a chance.
  47. Now that it looks like the KS matter might be in the forefront, judging by the Chicago Trib article today, maybe that’s why that Death Inquest report, which I think is 7 pages, is no where to be found. It’s not on acandyrose, and a couple of other links I found led to nowhere. That’s the strangest thing – like it just vanished. Of course, it wasn’t worth the paper it was written on, but it would be interesting to see it again.
  48. OK – Now I feel reeeeally bad. I don’t want my new pals to fight.
    Honestly, I was just shocked at what I thought I was reading in Amanda’s post (@ 4:53) which said in part, “Stacy should have told. Steven should have told. Jennifer should have told. But no, they helped it along.
    For financial gain, nothing else.”
    I read that as slamming Stacy, had a visceral reaction and made what seemed to me a fairly moderate response.
    Obviously, not moderate enough; sorry.
    I hope that clears up my part in the mess. Again, I’m sorry and I would never want to start a ‘family fight.’
  49. Coffee-no worries! It’s all good. It has more to do with the other posters doing that on a daily basis. I apologize for taking it out on you, but I have seen enough of it. Hopefully, Gatehouse and Danya will put an end to the snide remarks.
    Rescue-I have that 7 page document. I learned from that missing 28 page report. 🙂 Let me know if you need it or want it.
  50. Hey rescue, I posted and ran ( emergency ) and came back to this mess. Sorry for typing aloud again ! DADGUMIT !!! 🙂
  51. Rescue-what do you want with it? Do you need it or are you just curious? Seriously, let me know when you want it. I’ll have to figure out how to get it to you but I am sure other bloggers can tell me.
  52. When you read and see, with even more being exposed today, all that happened after Kathleen’s death and the investigation, it makes you want to scream! No wonder her sister was so shocked and awed at this mess. She even had “proof.” A suitcase full of it, and couldn’t get anyone to listen to her.
    How dignified she is, though, and well spoken about it all. One class act!
  53. Yeah, it was an emotional emergency with my newly single daughter. But it took me away from the computer ! She is fine. I gave her my “You will love again..and again …and again…and probably even again speech. Seemed to work , that or she got tired of listening to my advice ! lol
  54. Ah, Wonder, poor thing. You left out the line that my mother used to say…. it only hurts until the next one comes along.
  55. Can we all agree to stop making snide remarks to others and keep it to the story at hand? No matter how much you don’t like someone, just no personal attacks? Think-was ready to leave the other day because of it too. None of us should feel like that.
    Plus, it would really tick off Amanda if you were all nice to her and just kept to the subjects-even if it doesn’t apply to the case….LOL-sorry, Amanda! ILY2-be careful saying that-you will never live that one down with me. haha! 😉
    Coffee-really, I apologize! I took it out on you. That was the first time that you did that and you are new here. Don’t take it personal and please don’t hold it against me. I really am a nice person. 😯
  59. Hedidit – thank you, but that’s not it. It’s the transcript from the actual Death Panel Investigation. That’s what’s vanished from everywhere. Let me see if I can find the link for it on acandyrose to show you what I’m talking about.
  62. Hi Everyone.
    Very odd that the 28 page report seems to be missing from everywhere. I remember seeing it, and in fact I recall that Greta had a copy of it. Maybe e-mail her?
  63. Yeah, hedidit. It’s the strangest thing. I found a link to it on Websleuth’s also, and when I clicked on it – same thing. Gone.
    On acandyrose, there’s a pic of one of the pages that Greta used on her show, but that’s it. Just vanished.
  64. Rescue-the Coroner’s Inquest Report is the 28 page document that we can’t find. It was on AMW and then on acandyrose.com but it’s no longer available. I hope this helps 🙂
  65. Hi harleyjoey.
    If everything else under the sun regarding the Savio matter is on the Internet, why wouldn’t the Inquest still be?
    Isn’t that, though, what the news today was all about? Just what went on during that death investigation??????????
  66. I was looken for it as well and googling it is null.
    can not find a thing about the 28page report of kathleen. here is my thought as to possibly why that is. they are still investagating it , and the news of the new corner maybe has something to do with it , or that they , don’t want us to see what possibly has changed in the autopsy report , that they are looken into more . and want it kept quiet, maybe there is more to this than we know of. WE have not heard about the other test baden had done on her, like the toxicology stuff and the other guy said it was what exotic . we have not heard nothing about that either.. so something is going on with this .
    I know other autopsy reports are on the web sites , that ya can find ,. from murders , but could be they need to have it not be looked at ,.like i said they added more to it , or are changing it …
  67. Okay that is the cornoer death report.
    I went to websleuths and found this:
    Where they are referring to is as the AUTOPSY report. I am quite certain that if there was ever a jury’s inquest report ACR would have it.
    I will find out.
    Are we sure that it wasn’t a 28 page autopsy reprt in which only 7 pages were released?
    From Websleuths:
    SuziQ12-07-2007, 10:12 AM
    Kathleen Savio’s Autopsy Report:
    http://www.amw.com/pdf/coronerdeathreport.pdf
    As you can see it is not titled “Coroners Jury inquest Report” and since they are pretty much on their game there, I would have to say, there lies the confusion.
    But I will still look around.
    And, if you go to the AMW Stacy’s page link, you will note that ALL the lonks say URL cannot be found:
    Rescue,
    Now that I re-read your post I am more certain than ever it has never been released because if it were ACR would at least have a date, that is why she has “00” as the date. That is what she puts as a date when she does not have a confirmed source for the date.
    She would put the date for sure if she had not yet gotten to transcribe it yet. Plus she has it written underneath “Unavailable.”
    So I contend it has not been released, I will get a confirmation on that for you
  70. Hedidit – Ah, I see what you mean. What is confusing, though, is that it says “transcribed……”. But, it’s a 2004 date, not a 2008 date, when it was released. See how confusing it is? (05/00/2004) That is the month of the Inquest.
    Although, here is a pic from acandyrose where Greta is referring to it. If it was released and she had a copy, I’m sure someone would’ve gotten it from the media and transcribed it, no?
  71. Here’s an excerpt I found from some news coverage about it in a cbs news report. And, to be honest, it’s appalling.
    The proceedings began when Kathleen’s sister told how she was informed by a relative of Kathleen’s death.
    “I was told that my sister was dead,” Doman said. “I asked if her ex-husband killed her, and she told me she didn’t know. And the reason I ask that is because she was terrified of him and him threatening her. “
    ********************
    When they asked her this and she answered, what did they do next? Ignore her – move on? No follow-up? Wonder what the transcript says after Ms. Doman came out with those statements?
    *********************
    The only police officer called to testify never was at the death scene, and didn’t attend the autopsy, where eight separate injuries were noted on Savio’s body.
    The coroner asked him if there was “any signs of a struggle noted at the scene?”
    The officer answered: “no there was not.”
    “Any signs of a struggle or defense wounds?” the coroner asked.
    “No, there was not,” the officer answered.
    “And there was a little bit of blood in the tub?” the coroner asked.
    The officer said, “That’s right.”
    ************
    Was he even asked if he was at the scene, or at the autopsy? Where was he getting the information he was relaying back to the questions?
  72. Ok. I got ya.
    Since Greta really is an attorney, perhaps she was able to get it by virtue of that.
    “5/00/2004” is referring to the date of the inquest which is unknown because it has not been released to the public.
    “Transcribed by ACandyRose.com” is probably SOP because she fully intends to do so when it becomes available.
    I wonder if anyone could just get it? Is it a matter of public record? I don’t know.
  73. Hedidit- I just assumed because it was reported in the newspapers that it had been released, and I even saw the referral to it on acandyrose, it was always available, but now gone. It may be a part of that 28 page document we’ve heard called the coroner’s report – part autopsy, part Coroner’s inquest. That would make sense, since I guess the death panel would get a copy to look at and it’d be part of the transcript.
    It just would be interesting to see how the questions and answers were handled and if there was follow up, although I doubt it judging by how Ms. Doman’s testimony wasn’t even considered.
  74. 1wonderwoman // August 18, 2008 at 10:11 pm
    Uh Ducky, could you take it out of my arse instead of my face, more room to work with ! lol
    ————————————————————
    ROTFLMFAO!!!!! That is cute 😉 Wouldn’t we all love to have some our arse’s pecked off? LOL I will respectfully decline to have my beak near your arse-I would need dinner and a movie first 😉
  75. Resuce,
    If you read the transcripts of the Walter James interviews (one of the jurors) it is also interesting to note how DP’s police bud (Dennis Pratl-of Orland Park PD NOT the school coach/child porn guy from Oak Lawn) was singing his praises and how they felt influenced by that.
  76. Oh, as I’ve said, everything about the investigation of Kathleen’s death is horrible! But, why???? Why did it happen this way. I think it was a big, fat courtesy extended to Peterson, but heaven only knows why. How does something so obvious get by all of these people? No wonder Peterson walks around like a peacock, strutting his stuff. He thinks he’s a god.
    Disgusting.
  77. http://www.hbo.com/autopsy/baden/bio.html
    DID anyone see dr. Baden HBO special a while ago , here is the site, lots of information ya can find on autopsies.
    this part is what he has been in …
    Dr. Michael Baden is the former Chief Medical Examiner of New York City and is presently the chief forensic pathologist for the New York State Police. He received a B.S. Degree from the City College of New York and an M.D. Degree from New York University School of Medicine. He trained in internal medicine and pathology at Bellevue Hospital Medical Center where he was intern, resident and Chief Resident. He has been a medical examiner for forty-five years and has performed more than 20,000 medico-legal autopsies. He has held professorial teaching appointments at Albert Einstein Medical School, Albany Medical College, New York University, New York Law School and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He has been a consultant to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Veteran’s Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm’s, Drug Enforcement Agency and the United States Department of Justice.
    He was Chairman of the Forensic Pathology Panel of the U.S. Congress Select Committee on Assassinations that
    lots of links there and he has anwered alot of questions , very informative. this may help in regards to what your looken for …
  78. Hedidit- thanks for your effort in trying to find that death investigation report.
    Wonder where the information is coming from that we’re starting to hear, like the stuff from today. You know, the clothing, the picture on the floor, the rumpled bed, etc. Wonder if the police reports are part of the death investigation transcript.
    Sorry, Wonder. 🙂
    You win the contest. What should be your prize? I knew that you would win! I would give you a trophy or a cat if I could post it. J/K on the cat. Maybe your wish would be to ban me for a day? LOL
    🙂
  83. Night everyone. I won’t be a duck tomorrow if I don’t get to bed-I will be a pumpkin. 20 minutes and counting.
    Hoping that we hear something on the hearsay law soon 🙂
  84. Does anyone remember who the last GJ witness was in the Savio matter? Her bf, Steve, maybe? It’s been a while since someone testified, I think.
  85. To Confirm:
    The 28 page Coroner’s Jury Death Inquest Report that Greta Van Susteren had has NOT ever been released to the public. She did state she would release it but has not. I can only assume it is because of the pending investigation.
    The reason you see it on http://www.acandyrose.com with the date of 5/00/2004 and “unavailable” is exactly what I thought. The entry is merely an anticipatory placeholder until it becomes available.
