  1. For those of you that don’t know here…

    iknoweverythinglol is trintrin

He posts on Lenny and Paula’s site, and then comes back here to post TrinTrin’s comments under another alias. Don’t be fooled by this maniacal blogger.

  2. Furthermore, the comments made by TrinTrin are rude, obnoxious and totally unacceptable… thus, have been deleted by that site.

My intent is to refocus those interested in this case. I don’t think TrinTrin trashing a poster who has been the victim of her mother’s murder is where we need to go here. I am not in any way a Drew supporter, and do care about the children. The cruel personal attacks on these blogs simply needs to cease.

  3. “Given the amount of media attention, it’s going to be very difficult to find jurors who don’t know anything about Drew Peterson,” Peterson attorney Andrew Abood said after a court hearing in Joliet.

His lawyers said they haven’t decided yet whether to ask Judge Richard Schoenstedt to move the trial — and probably won’t until after a Sept. 18 hearing on what evidence will be presented during the trial, which they said could last two weeks.

    **************

I wonder (sorry, Wonder), if the attorneys themselves share the blame for this, since Brodsky was usually the first to stir things up whenever they quieted down.

Wouldn’t it make sense that asking the Judge to change the venue might look silly to the Judge, since the same attorneys that had a hand in creating the mess would be asking him to fix it? Add to that the fact that the client himself stoked the fires to begin with, not the media. Both client and attorneys sought out the media from the beginning, and even now do so with Paul Huebl and Glen Selig contributing.

And you want to ask the Judge to move the trial out of Will County? Was this Brodsky’s mastermind with the white noise brouhaha?

  4. ““Given the amount of media attention, it’s going to be very difficult to find jurors who don’t know anything about Drew Peterson,” Peterson attorney Andrew Abood said after a court hearing in Joliet.”

I wonder if a judge will take into consideration how much of the media attention was brought to the case by the defense, particularly as they hired a publicist, make the rounds of the talk show circuit and regularly send out press releases.

  5. Rescue and Facs- great points made there.

I was also thinking… if the defense has welcomed the publicity, how does this warrant a change of venue? If you are out there doing Larry King, it doesn’t make sense to cry foul, when you have to come to terms with a jury trial. For goodness sakes Drew has hired a publicist… although not a very good one!

  6. “One thing I want to make clear is that this is not a situation that this office has created,” said Charles Pelkie, spokesman for the state’s attorney’s office. “They have a greater ability to limit their client’s access to the media, or their own access to the media, than we have.”

    ************

Well, I can just assume that Mr. Pelkie included this in his Motions dealing with the change of venue.

In other words, it’s what we’ve been saying all along – Brodsky and Peterson put that big pink elephant in the middle of the room, but, apparently, are the only ones that can’t see it.

  7. “One thing I want to make clear is that this is not a situation that this office has created,” said Charles Pelkie, spokesman for the state’s attorney’s office. “They have a greater ability to limit their client’s access to the media, or their own access to the media, than we have.”

Exactly. Joel has said repeatedly that their strategy was to follow the O.J. and Robert Blake cases and to get a lot aof media exposure and they’ve generated as much coverage as they could possibly get. Even after the gun charges when Joel announced there would be no further appearances, they made more.

  8. Oh Rescue – You already commented on that quote!

Well, it can’t be said enough.

Think how much attention the Lisa Stebic case got initially. How many times has Craig Stebic spoken to the media? None.

  9. You must have been the only one who didn’t know that iknoweverythinglol was Trintrin?

We all have our own ideas on what is rude, obnoxious and totally unacceptable, and obviously that varies to great degrees depending on the agenda and/or the mindset of the person holding the opinion.

The good news (For you) is that you have the power to delete Trin’s comments, while others are left without a way to firebomb the rest of the blog and remove it completely.

Of course, there is the all important power of self control and keeping in your own backyard.

Those of us who choose not to go digging in the dumpster would appreciate it if you would leave the trash there please?

You’re cluttering up a perfectly good lawn.

Has anyone found out if the GJ met last week or this week?

  11. “Really, a task for everybody, including the judge and the state’s attorney, is making sure Drew gets a fair trial, and that’s picking jurors that really know nothing about the case,” said attorney Andrew Abood. “And given the amount of media attention associated with this case, it’s going to be very difficult to find jurors that really don’t know anything about Drew Peterson or haven’t formed an opinion.”

    *****

If it were truly the case that the jurors can’t know anything about the person or the case then wouldn’t every single criminal be wise to go on TV and gather as much publicity about themself so they could cry and say they can’t get a fair trial because everyone saw them act foolish on TV? Now if a defendant is doing everything in their power to lay low and is still being dragged into the media by others than that would be a different thing.

I’m still surprised in a case with so many legal technicalities as this gun charge will have that they aren’t opting for a bench trial instead of a jury trial. I personally think in the gun charge case that may be the better route.

    *******************

Thinkaboutit, do you know if the judge decides that, or is it the defendant’s choice? Someone told me that you are given the right to a jury trial but that you can forego it if you want.

    I don’t really know how it works…

  13. I am not really privy as to what the issues are with IKELOL, but, for the times I have blogged with him and he has blogged here, I find him to be a pleasant, well-informed contributor.

  14. I remember Lavanda telling me about a case in which the defendant followed her lawyer’s advice and took a bench trial.

I don’t know if the bench trial had been offered or whether it was “jury or bench, pick one” that was put out there.

The impression I got at the time is that all defendants had the choice.

  15. Iamseppy- I said…

  16. “I only came here to post information on the CUE that took place, in the name of Stacy.”

I’m sorry, one of us must be confused, because the first two posts from you on this thread are about Trin, not Cue, and certainly not Stacy.

If I had your priorities confused it is because you are guilty of false advertising on their behalf.

  17. Why would you trash someone for simply trying to get the word out to others about the CUE? That’s saddening. I have only good intentions here. Is there a rule that people who post about the case on Len’s site are not to post here? If there is, please let me know… because I was not aware of it. Do any of you post on that site? Anyone?

  19. 😳
Saw weknow’s explanation on Ashlen’s. Color me confused!

She took the CUE info from here (posted by Rescue) to post at Ashlen’s.

I’ve gone to the corner, and while there, will try to find the story on the CUE stop.

  21. I always thought a bench trial was an option, and I just assumed it would be so in this matter. I was surprised to hear that this would be before a jury.

I also remember DP saying that he knew this Judge to be fair.

Oh, well. His lawyer knows best, heh?

  22. Maybe you are confused at what I was speaking of. I never posted a comment on this site until today. I only came here once (earlier this week) to get the information on the CUE, so that I could post it for others to attend… to generate interest in the CUE. Unfortunately, I live too far away to be there myself.

What did I do wrong in trying to get the local public to be a part of something in the name of Stacy? Please tell me what is so bad about that?

  23. Thank you for the info Noway but it sounds to me like Weknow has first hand info on the CUE that she is wanting to share with us.

  25. The only first hand knowledge I have on the CUE was the where, when, what, etc. I explained this to Noway this morning. Why is it so bad to post those details?

Again, is there a rule that I am not allowed to get information on the CUE from here (without posting anything on the thread), and post it for others to attend?

weknoweverythinglol, I thought you meant you came here to post HERE.

That’s what added to my confusion.

    😀
I think we’d better change the topic before we start confusing everyone else!

  28. Am i the only one that thinks a dec, trial date is a little extreme (time wise). Usually it’s thirty days from last court date. Unbelievable!!!

  29. Okay Noway, now we finally understand each other. I’ve never gotten involved in posting any info. about “get togethers” on any of the sites.

After the way I was treated on this site today, I will never post another word about anything of the sort… and that’s sad for Stacy and Kathy’s sake. I had good intentions, and they were squashed by those having no idea that I only wanted to help in the cause.

  30. If you wanted to help in the cause then why pick that name, and why were your first two posts today about Trin, and not the Cue, or Stacy?

    From Kristine-

No worries, Noway. I wonder if anyone else on this site will be willing to apologize for their statements to me… I bet not.

  32. Grandam – that’s what I’ve been thinking about Mike Robinson’s cases, to tell you the truth. He could use his own court room by now, and have a plaque with his name on it, for all the times his cases have been continued.

  33. Seppy- two VERY separate issues… none of which you need to involve yourself with.

If you wanted to know what was deleted, you should have been there to read it for yourself.

  34. I’m still not sure what you are wanting an apology for? I don’t think I misunderstood you at all.

You made a nickname to ‘school someone on their insanity’ (Your words) and then proceeded to make your first two posts about this person.

I told you to keep that trash over at the other blog because some have the same feelings you do for trin for that entire place.

You are making this now about Cue, and Stacy and acting as if you have been misunderstood.

    I understood you clearly.

You made a nickname to ‘school Trin’ and then posted about him here under that nickname, twice, before ever mentioning Stacy or the Cue.

Your “priority” was to school Trin (the purpose for your name) and your “priority” was to inform us of Trin’s actions (Your first two posts) and NEITHER of those has to do with Stacy, or the Cue stop.

BUT for the record, Trin is a member of the organization that stepped up and organized 90% of Stacy’s CUE stop, including designing the flyer, having it color printed, and putting together volunteer teams from the organization to distribute it, donating the flowers (We paid for, not a florist) , memorial cards (We had printed at our own cost) , water (We bought) , and informational sheets (We printed again at our own costs) , as well as organizing the martial arts demonstration and alerting the media to the stop.

We also provided the balloons for the children at Rachel’s stop and the balloons which were released in her honor.

Now I’m curious.. what did you, or any of those who think Trin is so ‘disgusting’ do for Stacy’s cue stop?

As for the rest, thank you to those who did step up and make Stacy’s Cue stop a success, your time, donations, energy and efforts are greatly appreciated by everyone.

  39. ciao51, I wonder how his wife feels about that? You loving my governor I mean.

Do you know I am from Montana?

And my governor is Brian Schweitzer?

  40. You are right, sorry. Rude, obnoxious and totally uncalled for.

    I used the wrong word.

Sorry for using the wrong word.

Missing Persons Support Tour Adds Wattage To Stacy Peterson Spotlight

(WBBM) – A North Carolina-based missing persons’ support group is in the Chicago area to try to put the spotlight on four such cases. But one such case needed no such help.

    WBBM’s Bob Roberts reports.

In contrast with the small gathering of area residents at a stop focusing on Tionda and Diamond Bradley, who were 10 and 3 when they disappeared in 2001, and the emotional ceremony for Rachel Mellon, who was 13 when she disappeared in 1996, there was a much more freewheeling atmosphere at the stop spotlighting the cace of Stacy Peterson of Bolingbrook.

Instead, a martial arts expert from the ATA Martial Arts School in Montgomery gave self-defense lessons. Pizza and soda were provided to all who attended, and people walked off with bunches of carnations from a local florist who donated 304 of the flowers — one for each day Peterson has been missing.

Remarks lasted only a few minutes. But Peterson’s sister, Cassandra Cales, said she hoped the spotlight on the Peterson case rubbed off on the others and that they could offer useful advice.

Asked what she hoped to accomplish, Cales told WBBM, “To show others how we do it and get other media attention for their cases — support and keeping everyone else’s missing cases out there, and hopefully bring forward people who have information.”

She said the message of determination is important.

“(We’re) letting everyone know we’re not going away that that we’re still searching and we will find the missing loved ones and bring them home,” Cales said.

Cales said a close-knit group of 30 people continue to search each weekend for Peterson. She said the group pays little attention to comments by Peterson’s husband, retired Bolingbrook Police Sgt. Drew Peterson, or his attorney.

They have contended that Stacy Peterson left Drew Peterson, with plans to cover her tracks.

Bolingbrook Police Chief Ray McGury asked those who attended to give his department another chance in efforts to find Peterson and those responsible for her disappearance.

“Early on, there wasn’t a lot of love for us, and I understand that and I accept that, and I accept full responsibility to try to make this right,” he said. “We’re going to make it right.”

Illinois State Police are spearheading the investigation, in part because of Drew Peterson’s former association with the department. He retired a month after his wife disappeared.

The executive director and founder of the Cue Center for Missing Persons, Monica Caison told WBBM that each of the four families being spotlighted in the Chicago area were allowed to plan their own itinerary.

The two-day stop is part of a 12-day, 17-state, 5,300 mile journey spotlighting 110 cases.

I’ve gotten my apologies, and I’m moving on to the case. I will post wherever I so choose.

  49. You got an apology from me for something I did (Use the wrong word.)

What you did was, and still is.

My apology for using the wrong word does not erase the nickname you chose to register with, or the choice you made in picking a topic for your first two posts.

Now, we can move on, because I’m more interested in talking about the actions and efforts taken on Stacy’s behalf, than talking about anything that comes from the dump.

Feel free to post wherever you like, but just know that if you come over here talking about the contents of the garbage can it’s probably going to be perceived as trash. Period.

Though sandwiched between Mark Warner’s keynote speech and Hillary Clinton’s memorable appearance, Schweitzer — in blue jeans, blazer and bolo tie — delighted delegates with his folksy delivery and snappy zingers, such as: “We simply can’t drill our way to energy independence, even if you drilled in all of John McCain’s backyards, including the ones he can’t remember.” The next morning on MSNBC, Schweitzer offered his position on gun control: “You control yours. I’ll control mine.”

    Montana, you did good!

  57. Wow weknowitall you go better go back to Trashleys and re-read what you have written about several people that post. You most certainly are a basher yourself.

  58. Enough said on my part. My work is done here. Have a nice day all. Don’t mean to cause trouble. Just can’t stand self righteous liars is all. Good Day

  59. Noway we’re stuck with him for another 2 years – and I voted for him!

Oh well, congrats Montana you have a great governor!

  60. My husband and I were at the CUE stop event on Wednesday night.

The turn out was ok, honestly I was hoping/thinking it would have been a little better considering how many (who claim to be local) have been intensely following this, and for those who have become skeptical of the handling via FoSP.

That being said, it was nice event and it was for me, a local, a great way to be able to show my support out side of praying and these forums/blogs. ( Please do no misunderstand, I am not diminishing prayer)

Some that I expected were not there.

Some that I didn’t expect were there.

CUE (Community United Effort) is a wonderful organization.

  61. Gentlemanjack, I wouldn’t take lack of turnout at a ceremony to mean a lack of interest in helping. People show their concern and make their efforts in different ways.

Prayers, flowers and balloons are sweet and I think they help victim’s families to know they have support in their community.

They also need people to fight the media monster that Brodsky/Selig have created and warriors to take on the toadies they’ve dragged in with them.

Not as pretty as balloons, but just as worthy.

And I think CUE is a fantastic organization.

Judge: Drew’s trial could be lengthy

    August 29, 2008Recommend

JOLIET — Drew Peterson’s pending trial might stretch past two weeks, a judge said Thursday, and that’s only for his gun charges.

Judge Richard Schoenstedt set a Dec. 8 date for Peterson’s trial on felony gun charges. He scheduled a hearing on Sept. 18 for attorneys to argue pretrial motions.

State police arrested Peterson in May for allegedly possessing a rifle with a barrel shorter than the state-mandated length of 16 inches. Peterson’s attorney, Joel Brodsky, contended Peterson carried the weapon as part of his duties with the Bolingbrook Police Department’s SWAT team, and had permission to possess it.

During Thursday’s hearing, Schoenstedt said he expected Peterson’s pending trial to be a lengthy one.

“I think we discussed this case could take upwards of two weeks, including jury selection,” the judge said.

    Brodsky was not as sure.

“Not if they grant my motion,” he said.

“One of our motions is to limit the evidence the state is allowed to introduce,” Brodsky said. “In that case it would be a pretty short trial.”

Peterson’s legal team of Brodsky and attorney Andrew Abood has filed six motions to be argued in September. Prosecutors filed three motions, all under seal.

Among the defense motions is one to change the venue of the trial in hopes of finding an unbiased jury, Brodsky said.

“There seems to be a public opinion about Drew that’s slanted in a particular direction, thanks to you guys,” Abood said to reporters Thursday.

Abood suggested Peterson could find a less-biased jury in Cook County. Brodsky thought they might have to go further afield, perhaps to “China” or “Taiwan,” but the attorneys had not decided whether to pursue changing the trial’s venue.

Abood also said he and Brodsky were pondering putting Peterson in front of a judge in a bench trial instead of going before a jury.

“We won’t know what obstacles we face until we start questioning the jury,” Abood said.

State police have named Peterson their sole suspect in the October disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson. State police have labeled the case a “potential homicide.”

State police also are investigating the March 2004 apparent bathtub drowning of Peterson’s third wife, Kathleen Savio. State police found no sign of foul play when they first probed Savio’s death, but got another crack at it following Stacy’s disappearance.

  63. My post at lennys was not rude or filthy and did not trash anyone. All I said was why not have a photoshop contest for all murders. And since one poster was talking about how her mom was murdered we could start with her killer.

She was all for it according to her next post but then a friend of hers jumped in and made the nastiest filthiest post to me I have ever seen on the internet .

That post she made still stands and mine was deleted. Lenny and Paula are still running that site and it shows what they are like for leaving filth like that up there.

The post does not bother me, the fact that people support that kind of posting does.

  64. Hi everyone!

I had a thought about all the continuances. They’re granted for all kinds of reasons. Lawyers with holidays/elective surgery/another trial already scheduled, etc. I think JB and AA despite claiming they want a speedy trial, may be happy to keep their client out of the jailer’s way by this means or any other. If they’re not, they should be cynical enough to find their way there soon.

  65. Hi ya, Bucket.

You’re right, the lawyers could want continuances for all kinds of things, but when the lawyers want a venue change, and then blame the media as the reason for the bad trend against their client when it was them all along that did it, you kind of wonder when planet they dropped down from.

Come the September Court date, when the lawyers will argue the motions they presented, it’ll be interesting to see which way the wind is blowing.

  66. Yo! hiya!

Absolutely. I think once before I alluded to a courtesy bestowed upon lawyers now and again known as “wiping the floor with them”. It shows them the error of their ways. Many judges will not allow the likes of JB to get away with “taking the piss” and wasting everyone’s time. While he may be within his rights to do so technically, some take a very dim view, especially if it appears to be habitual. (filing appeal, dropping at last minute/seeking bond amendment to alledgedly take kids on holiday/creating sh- storm and yanking the court around some more.

  67. That change of venue thing is a mad ploy. Makes me laugh JB mentioning China…that’s where the cosmetic surgery clients of Selig’s are. Gonna try a little “product placement”? LOL Maybe they can get a witness to say that he performed cosmetic surgery on Stacy to make her appear oriental, then she dove head first like shining heavenly golden noodle (er) needle into the mass of Chinese humanity-haystack.
