It has taken nearly a year, but Will County prosecutors say they are finally close to determining exactly what happened to one of Drew Peterson’s wives.

Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow won’t say which case he is close to solving — the 2004 death of Kathleen Savio or the Oct. 28, 2007, disappearance of Stacy Peterson.

Describing the ongoing investigations into the fate of the two women as “highly productive,” Glasgow said Wednesday he expects to have some answers soon.

“I fully expect there to be a resolution in at least one of these investigations in the near future,” Glasgow said in a statement timed for the one-year anniversary of Stacy Peterson’s disappearance.

But he offered no new details, and attorneys for former Bolingbrook cop Drew Peterson — who has been labeled a suspect in Stacy’s disappearance — dismissed Glasgow’s assessment as nothing new.

“That’s the same stuff we’ve been hearing for quite a while. There’s nothing there that’s causing us any concern,” said Joel Brodsky, who said Peterson had nothing to do with Stacy’s disappearance or Savio’s death.

Stacy Peterson — Drew Peterson’s fourth wife — was 23 when she vanished last fall from the couple’s Bolingbrook home. He contends that she left him voluntarily, possibly for another man.

After she disappeared, authorities reviewed Savio’s bathtub drowning death, which originally was ruled an accident. A new investigation concluded that Savio — who had recently divorced Drew Peterson — was murdered.

Family members of the two women said they’re heartened by Glasgow’s optimism.

“To us, it’s hopeful,” said Pam Bosco, a spokeswoman for Stacy Peterson’s relatives.

Savio’s sister Anna Doman offered a similar sentiment.

“I’m hoping something happens,” she said. “There’s no way I’m giving up hope of finding out what happened.”

Almost a year after his wife mysteriously vanished and police hinted that he had something to do with her death, the only thing the cops have hung on Drew Peterson was an unrelated gun charge.

Despite the passage of time without apparent action, State’s Attorney James Glasgow said Wednesday that the law was still hard at work, not only investigating the young mother’s disappearance, but revisiting the March 2004 apparent bathtub drowning of Peterson’s third wife Kathleen Savio.

State police initially investigated Savio’s death in 2004 and found no indication of foul play. They got another crack at it after Stacy Peterson vanished in October 2007.

    Kathleen Savio

“The investigations into both Stacy Peterson’s disappearance and Kathleen Savio’s murder have been highly productive,” Glasgow said. “I fully expect there to be a resolution in at least one of these investigations in the near future.”
Peterson’s attorney, Joel Brodsky, did not seem convinced.

“I think there’s an election coming up,” Brodsky said when asked about Glasgow’s statement.

But Glasgow said his “office continues to work hard to assist the Illinois State Police in advancing both investigations under intense national and local media coverage.”

“We have done our best to respond to legitimate media queries without jeopardizing the integrity of these investigations or the secrecy of the special grand jury,” he said. “While this has proven difficult at times, I respect the professionalism displayed by the press during these investigations.”

The press likely will be out in force again today, when Peterson makes another pretrial appearance for his felony gun case. He was arrested in May on a charge of unlawful use of a weapon for owning a Colt AR-15 assault rifle that, without the flash suppressor, is short of the 16-inch length required by state gun laws.

Stacy Peterson’s friend and neighbor, Sharon Bychowski, who still lives next door to Drew Peterson and has feuded with the man state police named a suspect in his wife’s disappearance, was heartened by Glasgow’s words.

“It was good to hear Jim Glasgow’s statement,” Bychowski said. “With the one-year anniversary of Stacy’s disappearance coming up, we know they state police and state’s attorney are working vigorously to see a resolution to this case, and for the families of Stacy Peterson and Kathleen Savio.”

  3. Bucket,

Good Morning! Wonder what Peterson and Brodsky will reply to the new release. They were probably just be appear on taping of Dr. Phil when he was released.

Hopefully they make it back in time for their court time.

  4. I thought I’d throw in a little caution over the date the hearsay law may be finally sealed and delivered. Nov 12 they convene, but still may take a little time. Recently thr Gov’s office said it was being returned to be considered/ amended along with other bills. How long is the queue?

  5. Update…

    Hello again all!

We are currently in need of volunteers to aid us in a search on Oct 25, 2008. We will once again be search for Stacy Peterson, it is not too late and it is not time to give up. We must push forward and bring this beautiful young woman home.

If you are available please email me here or at fuzzbuttmom@comcast.net , we will be meeting at 9 am , location to be announced..

Please feel free to repost this as often as you would like. Thanks again to all who have been helping in the searches and for any further help you may be able to provide.

    Have a blessed day!!!!
    _____________

For those who have an issue, this was set up by Cassandra. Do not hold whatever grudges you have against me here, this is for Cass as she asked for it to be done.

Regardless of all the smack talking, Cass still deserves your support and Stacy still deserves to be found.

  6. mornin whitey

DP feelin the heat, I hope. Maybe he will be collared today. The hearsay law really is looking like a cert, and would cover his case even if arrested yesterday.

My hope for the people of Will County is that LE are going to be spiking and removing the corrupt as well.

    Everybody have a great day!

  7. Bucket,

Based on on things have worked, hoping to see an arrest the last week of Nov and probably on the Kathleen Savio case.

Based on the press release, they may want on Stacy Peterson until she is found. There isn’t a time limit on this. Though for the family and friends, the sooner the better.

    Have a great day yourself!

  8. Whiety- you’re probably right about late Nov, but we can dream and DP will probably reflect on the possibility of being pinched as he’s putting on his socks today. It’s still a possibility, suspect. 🙂

  9. Land, but do be prepared to get wet and mucky. Water is a possibility but that depends on the turnout and what Cass decides to do.

  10. Time,

Do you know if all the wonderful people who helped search before are going to help with this new search team? My guess would be no, but I could be wrong.

As we all feel and know, Stacy saw the hard work that they put into all those searches and She is the one who is thanking them for all their love and support.

  11. Hi Bucket…did you say that if Drew was arrested the hearsay bill would still be in effect? Even though it still has not passed…..

  12. “We will not stop searching until we bring Stacy home.”

Is that not the statement repeated by Sharon Bychowski regarding the searches up unil this point? Atleast the FSP searches.

Let’s see if Roy is truly serious and inddeed in this for the right reasons. Will he be able to come and help or is he in need of the limelight as the “leader”?

As an FSP member his actions up to this point have been representative of FSP. His actions as far as being able to contibute to a search without being the “leader” will also be representative of FSP in my opinion.

  13. No matter what has happened with searcher’s and searching. The bottom line is, Stacy deserves to be found and layed to rest properly.

  14. The focus, particularly today, is on Drew Peterson. He’s going to be in Court for a weapons violation.

In the meantime, the State’s Attorney has announced that a conclusion of one of the cases, Savio/Peterson, is at hand.

I don’t think I am alone here in saying that that is the most important news of all. Either shedding light on the fate of Kathleen and/or Stacy. Was it Drew Peterson or not? I guess that will have to be answered at some point.

Searchers – God Bless all of them, either sanctioned by the “bloggers everywhere” or not. Looking for a disposed body of a mother, sister, aunt or friend does not require a stamp of approval from anyone. Searching for a missing woman comes from the heart, no matter who is doing it, I believe, and this sideshow of barbs and digs is for the personal satisfaction of the individual doing it, IMHO.

So, again, good wishes to all of the searchers, whether we agree or not on how you conduct yourselves outside of your mission. What we do agree on is you are trying to get to a place that we all wish to see – that being, finding Stacy Peterson and helping to determine how she met her awful fate, and by whom!

    Just sign me:

    Pet a curse

    Rescue a Pest

or whatever other digs, barbs and just plain spiteful nics makes you feel better.

  15. For those who have an issue, this was set up by Cassandra. Do not hold whatever grudges you have against me here, this is for Cass as she asked for it to be done.

Regardless of all the smack talking, Cass still deserves your support and Stacy still deserves to be found.

    God bless Cassandra.

  16. I wonder if it’s possible that LE has other evidence regarding Stacy Peterson’s death, without actually having found her body.

Since the Caylee Anthony case has been made so public, LE in FL has mentioned some interesting technology about a dead body being in a certain place, without actually having the body. Like a strand of hair.

“Just putting the hair under the microscope one can tell the difference between a normal hair root and one that’s been infected with bacteria after death.” stated forensic expert Michael Baden.

Also, body fluids may or may not have been “found” in Stacy’s car after Peterson finally gave it up to LE for investigation. Guess we just don’t know what evidence they have, but wouldn’t it be possible they, too, have some that indicates a deceased individual was in that house/car that just so happens to match Stacy Peterson?

  17. Good morning all…
So this court appearance today is just a pre-trial thing right? So that basically means that the lawyers and judge get together and compare notes so to speak to make sure everyone is getting whatever help/information they have requested and set up the plan of action for the actual trial that is to happen in December. Am I correct?

  18. I wonder…what would it be like to be able to read that “special black binder filled with all the case information on KS and SP ” ??

Now that would be WONDERFUL. 🙂

  19. “I fully expect there to be a resolution in at least one of these investigations in the near future,” Glasgow said in a statement timed for the one-year anniversary of Stacy Peterson’s disappearance.

Statements like this give me hope!

My prayers are with Stacy’s and Kathleen’s families. This is beyond difficult … the waiting.

Bless all the searchers looking for missing loved ones.

Rescue, isn’t there a saying: a rose by any other name is still a rose? 😉 I think the same applies to Rescueapets.

  20. danamck at 10:18 am

That’s exactly it! I think the issue of a change of venue might also come up today, depending on whether Peterson’s attorneys want to have the trial somewhere else.

  21. Rescue, I was (mildly) cursing the fact that there was no edit or delete button on this blog even as I was hitting Submit.

Ah well. Such is life. 😉

  22. Where else would they want to move this gun trial to? WHO in northern IL hasn’t heard of Drew Peterson? Is Joel going for a judge or jury trial?

  23. Danamck, I would hope that the judge considers that Joel Brodsky is responsible for keeping Drew Peterson in the spotlight.

It’s all part of his Interview A Day Defense … and therefore, if he can’t find an impartial jury, he is to blame.

Actually, IMO, there are people who haven’t heard of Drew … at least not to the extent that we know about him.

  24. Rescueapet @ 9:48

That was a GREAT post. And I have to admit that I laughed at rescueapest, LOL

I am praying for the searchers as well, no matter who, what or where, Stacy does deserve to be found.

  25. Exactly, dana! Who in Illinois or elsewhere hasn’t heard of this case? I would think that motion would be denied, if it has been filed.

  26. danamck – I think they’re more concerned about moving the trial out of Will County. Peterson has many contacts there, so it would likely be in his best interests to do so if they’re going to have to pick a jury.

As to who hasn’t heard of him? Well, many people have, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they follow his story methodically and precisely, so he’s got just as much chance of having a fair trial as any other suspect in a crime!

  27. littlemamajo – LOL, as much as I love and have loved my “rescued pets,” they can be “pests,” in a nice sort of way.

Never, would I consider a loving pet a curse or a pest. Ever.

In fact, did you see the recent story about a soldier in Iraq who rescued a pup from a burning trash can in May, I believe? The two became inseparable, and she fought tooth and nails to get that pup sent back to the USA because, she said, Ratchet got her through her 13 months of deployment.

So, they can be life savers too!

  28. Rescue…
I know exactly what you mean by “pests”. I have a rescue cat (tossed out of a moving car window on a hot parking lot) that has become the biggest spoiled brat I have ever been owned by in my life!! He can be a huge pest at 4:30 am when he decides it is time for me to get up and fill the food bowls.. “no” isn’t an option in his vocabulary. It is heart warming to take a completly scared to death/non-trusting creature and watch it turn into a couch/bed hog. 🙂

  29. Damamck – I love it!!!

“…that has become the biggest spoiled brat I have ever been owned by in my life!! ”

You just made my day with that! Very cute.

  30. My son adopted 2 big dogs a few months ago. I was over at his house last week, what a positive change for these 2 beautiful dogs.
I am sure that it is rewarding to see them change for the better and trust again.

  31. Rescue…
The way I see it, I don’t “own” them… I have been given the duties as their “staff” to take care of whatever needs they have ( or think they have). Therefore, “I” am owned by “them”.

  32. Yes rescue I am familiar with the rescued dog of the soldier. I read the story but I am not sure if the dog is in the US yet. What a cute dog it was too!! It looked like a lab puppy. I thought there was a group working on getting a lot of them rescued. What a great group. I am a pet lover to the extreem, lol 5 dogs, 2 cats and a pony, lol just to name a few.

  33. littlemamajo – yes, Ratchet is back in the US, Minnesota, with the soldier’s parents. She comes home next month from her Iraq deployment.

  34. Thanks for the update rescue!! That just made my day hearing that news!!

    And hello to Applealley!!

My computer is running slower that molasses running up hill in January, darn it!!

  35. Facs…
We are in the market for another digital since my cannon digital decided to quit. Camera shop says it is the main board and it would be over $200 to fix. Pfttt… forget that!
Hubby wants to buy a digital SLR. I never figured out how to use all the features on the cannon. My old 35 mm was “stupid” proof. Not ten thousand setting etc. I want something like that but digital.

  36. Hey littlemama,

How are you? Did you get my message? I will contact you in a little.

I bought a little yorkie in July, he is spoiled to the core. Heck, he has more toys and clothes than I have.
My neighbor brings him a new toy at least once a week.

I have always heard they are hard to train. He is doing fantastic with training.

  37. Apple..
Is your yorkie a teacup size one? Hubby and I came across one while hiking in the woods last fall that had “escaped”. He was the cutest thing but tiny. Thank goodness he had tags and we called and the owner was so grateful to get him back. He was about half the size of my spoiled brat rescue cat though. I could see the cats gang up on the poor thing…

  38. LOL @ Goaway Noway … I love it … with love or not! 😉

Facs, I’m not a cat lover … but those pictures of HJ are great! I keep changing my mind about my favorite … but the one of him y a w n i n g on the first page of pix is definitely in the running.

  39. Some thoughts:

According to his timeline in Armstrong’s book:
3:15 P.M.* Tom, his 14-year-old son, is picked up by friends for a band concert.
6 P.M.* Takes Kris, Anthony and Lacy to McDonald’s. They have dinner and play at the playground at McDonald’s.
7:30 P.M.* Returns home with Kris, Anthony and Lacy.
8 P.M.* Tom gets home from band concert.
9 P.M.* At home, receives call from Stacy that she found someone and is leaving.

I’m not clear on this – is he not addressing the fact that he was even with Morphey? Does anyone remember that at all? In other words, is he denying, or just not acknowledging, that he was even with Morphey that day?

Because, from 3:15 to 9:00, there is no discussion of him calling anyone, or not calling anyone, for that matter.

I’m not convinced that the blue container contained a body, but I’m sure it could have contained evidence. I also think it’s possible that while he had the little people out of the house, “someone” could have come along and taken Stacy, either alive or dead, out of that house. But, it would have taken a “phone call.” Something that can be traced.

So, where does Bindy Rock come into play here? Did he get a phone call?

  40. IIRC, Drew said the meeting with Tom Morphey never took place. There was no moving of any blue anything from the house. No meeting at coffee shop or donut shop or whatever it was and no leaving of the phone with Tom.

I believe he says he was at home when Stacy called around 9.

  41. How funny rescue pets the topic. This morning I agreed to take in a cat – trial basis, I stress. We used to have a little cat called cookie who died a couple of years ago, the jackrussell got on with her, and sadly, looks for her if he hears her mentioned. This cat is also a little black and white female, so I thought we might be able to temper their meeting by persuading the dog it is indeed cookie. Worth a try. It arrives tomorrow.

  42. 8 P.M.* Tom gets home from band concert.
9 P.M.* At home, receives call from Stacy that she found someone and is leaving.

Didn’t Armstrong, who solely relied on Drew Peterson for “facts” and the published media reports, even think to pursue the question raised about him being out of the house, in public, with Tom Morphey?

If he did contact Morphey, that would be on a cell phone/home phone log somewhere. If not, score one for Drew.

9:15 P.M.* Leaves home to go and look for Stacy.
    11-11:30 P.M.* Returns home.

Would Armstrong (or LE, of course) have asked him if he placed any calls to anyone during this more than 2 hour span while he was out looking for Stacy? If so, cell phone records would be telling. If nothing out of the ordinary, score another one for Drew. But, why not shout it out to the world to show he didn’t make any unusual contacts????

  43. 11-11:30 P.M.* Returns home.
    * Gets call from Stacy’s sister, Cassandra Cales while still in the driveway. Tells her Stacy called and said she left with another man and took her passport, money and clothes.
11:45 P.M.* Walks and gets Stacy’s car and drives it home.
MIDNIGHT* Gets home and goes to bed

During this time, from 11:00 to midnight, again, either there were cell phone calls or there weren’t. Why does someone, who insists that he is being portrayed as sinister unfairly, not wave his cell phone records under the noses of the media to publish? After all, if there were no suspicious contacts or calls, there wouldn’t be much to show, would there?

On the other hand, if your wife ups and leaves you, wouldn’t you expect him to call her closest confidant, her sister? If not, and if there are other calls to questionable contacts, that, I would think, is quite telling.

  44. No conversation with Stacy in the morning, no fight, no trip to Cushing field, no meeting wtih Tom at the coffeeshop, no moving of a blue container.

According to him, the only time he leaves the house that night is after the 9pm phone call from Stacy in which she graciously informs him that she is leaving. According to his timeline, he then drives around between 9:15 and 11:30 ‘looking for her’. (Why does he look for her after she finally calls and tells him what’s up?)

Then at 11:45 he walks over to Clow and gets the car.

  45. When he “went to look for her”, where did he go? Where did he look and why? SnS Canal? Was the other man Tom Sawyer and were they setting off on his raft?

  46. How does he know where to drive to to look? I’ve never been to BB but I assume we are talking about a larger town… so what does he do, drive up and down all the main streets shouting out her name? This makes no sense. I would think he would be on the phone to everyone she knew and talked to. He could just as easily done that from home.

THAT IS GREAT NEWS!!! I hope this means that everyone has put their differences aside and will attend! Coming together right before the anniversary is a prayer answered

Danya/Gatehouse-I know that you are at the hearing but maybe you can put this up somewhere.
    ———————————————–
HAHA-I’m a day late and in the wrong thread.

I guess that I got too excited.

    THIS REALLY IS AMAZING!!

  48. 10-10:30 A.M. (PERHAPS AS LATE AS 11 A.M.)* Awakened by children.
    * Stacy gone, kids home.
NOON-1 P.M.* At home with kids.
1-1:30 PM* Children at home (Tom and Kris watching Anthony and Lacy).
    * Goes out to run Sunday errands.

From 10:00am to 1:00pm, what kind of timeline is this supposed to be? A repetitive “he’s home with kids.” Okay, he was awakened at 10:00am or 10:30, then leaves for “Sunday” errands at 1:00-ish, but gives no detailed, complicated explanation as to what he did during this 3 hour time period.

He didn’t think to call anyone about Stacy’s plans for the day, since he was home with the little people and was supposed to be at work later that day? That is, until he abruptly called into work after he had a revelation that he had too much time-due and had to use it before retirement.

Facs – you’re right about all of it the way you worded it. Except, that much of what he says can pretty much be verified, either by electronic records or actual witnesses.

If he’s telling the truth, then it will be there for all to see. Just wonder why he’s not helping himself here by “exposing” the truth?

  49. Did he leave the little ones with Kris at Mc Donalds? Maybe in the car, safe-ish, and got into someone else’s car?

  50. Where is the call from Sharon about the kids coming over for candy and him dropping them off at her house for 20- 30 minutes in that 1pm time frame?

  51. Drew is not interested in “exposing” the truth, too busy trying to cover all his lies. His timeline is very general, which leds me to believe its all lies, when people tell the truth, they have a tendency to include small details, don’t hear any of that!

  52. Was there any talk in either book where he might have gone for those 3 days that he was suppose to have left for a “head clearing trip”?
Or did that not happen either since it wasn’t mentioned?

  53. dana – exactamundo! Where is it is right. Is he denying that happened too, or is it insignificant in his fantasy world?

While he ran off doing his errands, where was he? Did he make contact with store personnel? Did he gas up his car, thus using his credit card? Someone, somewhere must have seen him during his errand adventure, and certainly must be willing to help clear up this mystery. Any cell calls during this time?

  54. “Drew went out to run sunday errands” between 1:00-1:30. I assume that covers when Sharon watched the kids.

Then, when he comes home he calls in sick.

  55. BTW – isn’t there a timeline out there somewhere where Peterson says the reason he called into work was because he had to “babysit” his kids? I know I saw that somewhere.

I don’t remember seeing him say he had to use up him accumulated time in preparation for retirement until this goofy explanation.

  56. Found this but don’t know the source:

“At 2:30 p.m. that day, Drew Peterson, a 29 year Bolingbrook police veteran, called work, saying he could not work his 5 p.m.~5 a.m. shift because his wife was gone and he needed to stay home with his children, Lt. Ken Teppel said.”

  57. maybe he had “trash “to take out… like laptops and purses and passports etc. Had to take them farther away than the house though…. didn’t want any chance of ID theft.

  58. 2 lajuan85 10/23/08 11:27 AM EDT comment

It’s really sad to see this man on the streets. He should not be just a person of interest. He should be the “murderer” of his two wives and locked up. This man walked into a resturant last saturday evening with a “young” blond and it is disturbing to see his, “so what” attitude. I believe his wife when she said he told her he could do anything he wanted to do because he knew how to get away with it!!! That’s tooooo much.

    From ABC local

Could anyone see her reflection in the mirror? mooohooohooowahwahwahwahahahah

  59. In Armstrong’s (Drew dictated) account of the day Stacy went missing, he says that Tom and Kris watched the little kids while Drew did his errands.

  60. Facs @12:56. Thank you! That was what I was thinking about. An official statement as to his calling into work.

Now, Armstrong comes along and takes Peterson’s word, puts it in his book, that he called into work to use accumulated sick time he’d lose after retirement.

Never “investigates” further to give the readers of his book something to think about, other than Peterson said it and it’s gospel, according to Armstrong. Except, his subject is stupider than we give him credit for!

And Armstrong: “At one point, he describes Peterson as an enigma — but not a killer.”

Is he not going on the talk circuit with a completely different tone? Sounds to me he’s another Drew Peterson. Except, he’s an “enigma—but not a killer.”

  61. C’mon people. Sunday Errands.

In my house, that’s the little phrase we use to mean ‘disposing of evidence’

  62. Ewww gad. What a hack this Armstrong is. I forgot how awful the prose is.

“Lenny wasn’t really a close friend, just a partner in their new scheme to renovate houses. Paula was sexy, and she knew it, an ex-stripper who still had the body that made her irresistable. But he resisted.”

  63. Thanks Gatehouse! Let me try again.

Where is the timeline that was on FSP? Has anyone compared them? I think that it’s on my computer but I can’t find it.

  64. In Drew’s official timeline Stacy says something about ‘going to grandpa’s’ at 5:30 am or so when Drew comes home.

Let’s say we buy that. So, he calls in when she’s still not home “from grandpa’s” by 2:30. OK. Still, the entire day goes by with no sight of her or phone call until 9 pm, and it’s only then that he ‘looks for her’ after she finally contacts him? That just doesn’t make sense.

  65. I do think it’s telling that Armstrong’s scenario ends in the afternoon after Drew gets home from his errands. Why end it there? I wonder if he wrote more but it was nixed by his editors J&D?

  66. mom2babies // October 23, 2008 at 1:39 pm

I am confused. Are Stacy’s dad/granddad the same person?
    ——————————————
No-Stacy’s Dad is Anthony Cales-Stacy’s grandpa is Bob Toutges

  67. Again, Drew’s official timeline says that he last spoke to Stacy when he first came home and went to bed 5:30-6 am.

When he was awakened by kids between 10-11 am, Stacy was gone.

From the best resource around, ACR:

People Magazine, 12/03/2007 issue, ‘DID HE KILL TWO WIVES?, Page 106:

“Peterson says he got off of work at 4 a.m. on Oct. 28 and got in bed beside his wife; around 9 a.m. he spoke briefly with her after their children jumped in their bed. “I went back to sleep,” says Peterson, “and when I woke up, she was gone.”

So the kids jumped on the bed twice? Once at 9 am and again at 10:30? And he last spoke to her at 5:30…but then he spoke to her again at 9 am?

  68. I was just looking at Danya’s timeline for comparison…

    https://petersonstory.wordpress.com/timeline/

    …and was reminded of this:

“Illinois State Police interview Drew Peterson regarding his wife’s disappearance. They ask to look at both of his vehicles. He allows access to one but not the other. ”

Has he ever explained why he wouldn’t let them search the car?

  69. don’t the clocks spin wildly and uncontrollablly in Wonderland? Who ever knows what time it is?!

So based on the yesterday/todays press leases, I assume the GJ is meeting today. Listening to tapes/watching dvd’s maybe?

    ++++++++++++
Well, if you go with DP’s theory that she “ran away”, he may not have allowed the search so he could “secure” what he thought would be evidence to that fact. OR to see if SP left any clues to where she went.

  71. I think Joel had the right idea when he didn’t want Drew giving out timelines other than the one he provided to LE.

  72. Facs, he also allowed them to search parts of the house but not all IIRC.

Also in the name of securing evidence that she ran away?

Or to see if she left any clues to where she went?

  73. I like my statements like Drew likes his autopsies – fresh!

I have no idea what the truth is but I find statements from three days after her disappearance (and pre-lawyered up) much more interesting than an ‘official timeline’ served up a year after the fact.

Drew Peterson Returns to Court on Gun Charges
    Thursday, October 23, 2008

Former Bolingbrook police officer Drew Peterson returned to court Thursday on gun charges unrelated to the case of his missing wife, Stacy.

A grand jury indicted Peterson on one felony charge for possessing an illegal semiautomatic rifle that was seized by authorities investigating Stacy’s disappearance.

He also faces a second felony count for attempting to transfer the gun it to his son, Stephen, ABC7Chicago.com reported.

Peterson previously tried to have the case dismissed, but Judge Richard Schoenstedt said he couldn’t find any case law that would justify dropping the charges.

Thursday’s hearing will focus on pretrial defense motions such as trial location and jury selection, according to ABC7Chicago.com.

The trial is scheduled to begin December 8th, the station reported.

Peterson has been named a suspect in his wife Stacy’s disappearance but hasn’t been charged.

Defense attorney Joel Brodsky argues his client is immune from prosecution for the gun charges because he was still a police officer when authorities seized the weapon.

  75. So, Drew wanted to do his “own investigation” into his missing family member?

Didn’t work out too well for Casey Anthony.

It goes without saying, his timeline, of which there are a number, is all over the place.

What I don’t understand (well, I do, but that’s besides the point) is why Peterson doesn’t clear up all of these inconsistencies once and for all with alibis, witnesses, phone/electronic records, that can exonerate him? He’s trying his case in the public, according to Brodsky it’s white noise, and he’s giving interviews and statements that may be harmful to him.

If Morphey is a figment of our imaginations, then Peterson can very easily disprove this by releasing his phone records to the public. What’s not in those records would be quite helpful regarding Morphey.

So far, all he has done is denied everything and called anyone saying otherwise liars. He hasn’t done anything or said anything to point away from him.

  77. What do you mean Facs… just cuz Casey couldn’t find little Caylee in all those clubs/bars she was going to??!! 😉

Maybe that is Drew’s strategy… he keeps going to all the clubs/bars and thinking eventually he’ll run into Stacy?

  78. Facs, Dan & Noway – I don’t think you should make light of them following the sterling example of O.J. Simpson. (bleeeccch)

  79. Facs, thanks so much for finding those sources about the chat D and Stacy had a I had at 9:00am. I knew I remembered that.

    Golly, he is a goner.

  80. This is an approximate timeline from Bosco, neighbor Sharon Bychowski andblog entries on the findstacypeterson.com Web site filed by her sister,Cassandra Cales:
9:40 a.m.: Bychowski, on the way to the grocery store, saw the Petersons’two vehicles in their driveway.
10:15 a.m.: A friend called Stacy Peterson to talk about meeting to paintthat day. She told him she was still in bed, but they made plans to meet. Thepair hung up around 10:25 a.m.
11 a.m.: Drew Peterson said he woke up and found Stacy Peterson gone. Hetold the Tribune and others she had left to paint a home in Yorkville.
11:55 a.m.: Bychowski returned from the store and saw only the Petersons’GMC Yukon Denali in the driveway. She said she called the house to let themknow she brought back suckers for the kids and Drew Peterson got on the phoneafter she asked for Stacy Peterson.
“He said, ‘She went to her grandpa’s to do errands for him.’ Grandpa is onthe South Side of Chicago,” Bychowski said. “I said I had these suckers forthe kids, and he said, ‘Let me get the kids some lunch and I’ll be over.’”
1 p.m.: Drew Peterson came over with his children and told Bychowski he hadto run an errand, she said. He said he would be back in 15 minutes, and hewas, Bychowski said.
1:48 p.m.: Bychowski called Stacy Peterson’s cell phone, and it wentstraight to voice mail. Meanwhile, Cales tried reaching her all day.
8 p.m.: Drew Peterson told Bychowski he had left a message for StacyPeterson telling her he was worried about her.
9 p.m.: Drew Peterson says Stacy Peterson called him and told him she wasleaving him for another man.
11 p.m.: Cales went to the Petersons’ home and said neither car was in thedriveway. She knocked on the door, and one of the Petersons’ children told herStacy Peterson and Drew Peterson had a big fight that morning and that neitherof them was there.
11:26 p.m.: Cales called Bosco, who told her to call Drew Peterson. Calesdid call Drew Peterson. Bosco said, “She said [when Drew Peterson answered]she heard the keys in the background. He’s a little flustered, out of breath, while putting the keys in the ignition. And she said, ‘Where are you?’ And hesaid, ‘I’m at home.’ And he said he’d been out looking for her sister.”
Cales went to the Downers Grove Police Department, which sent her toBolingbrook police.
2:30 a.m.: Cales and her friend Bruce Zidarich drove by the Petersons’ homeand said both cars were in the driveway, so Zidarich called Drew Peterson.”Bruce said, ‘Where’s Stacy?’” Bosco said. ‘And Drew said, ‘She’s left me.’And he said, ‘The car was at the whatchamacallit.’ And Bruce asked, ‘What’sthe whatchamacallit?’ and Drew said, ‘Wait a second, let me get my head onstraight.’ Then he said, ‘She left the car at the airport and she took$25,000,’ and was going to either Jamaica or Bahamas.”
4 a.m.: Cales reported Stacy Peterson missing to Illinois State Police.

  81. You know Coffee….the thing with OJ is that he faced a jury of his peers….you can blame the verdict on them or the prosecution for confusing them or even the dang shrunk leather gloves. Doesn’t matter. Bottom line, he didn’t change his ways and now karma has taken a bite out of him. He was arrested and charged for the murders. Right now we have only promises of that in this case.

  82. I’m so hoping it IS coming, Bucket and you are right. Just imagine the anticipation of those who’ve been privy to so much that we’ve been turning over in our heads – and here – all this time. They must be about to explode.

  83. Everytime I see Brodsky on CLTV (Local Cable News here in Chicago) make the comment: “there’s an election coming up,” I shake my head.

He’s making this comment based on the previous day’s news release from Glasgow’s office about the investigation.

Okay, “there’s an election coming up.” So, what’s the rest of it? There’s an election coming up, so Drew Peterson is not guilty of any of the suspected wrong doings? Or, there’s an election coming up and that’s why Glasgow’s office made a statement?

On the other hand, he’s been known to say NO charges will EVER be filed against his client, and the prosecution is merely repeating everything they’ve said in the past.

Why doesn’t he explain a go-nowhere remark like that so the rest of us can make sense out of it?

  84. Hey, crimefile dude, I’m not going to read your story by clicking on your link.

But ~ let’s bury the hatchet here for one minute, okay?

What do you think of a lawyer who, as an advocate for his client and who is supposed to guide him during precarious situations in which he may be involved, goes ahead and PERSONALLY schedules a polygraph exam on behalf of his client, merely for the purpose of helping to promote a book? Merely because the author wouldn’t do the book without it, and merely because his client calls the shots and tells the lawyer what to do?

I’ve seen your website and you’ve said this is crazy. That is, relying on a polygraph exam. So, why don’t you come join the other side and start fessing up, instead of trying to cover up the inevitable.

    Okay, carry on crimefile dude.

  85. LOL
I clicked on the link. Guess I was just lucky?

    Page not found
Sorry, the page you were looking for in the blog CRIME, GUNS, AND VIDEOTAPE does not exist.

  86. LOL,and you have the kahoona’s to (according to your link) say the prosecutor is beating his chest? I’d say you got the word “prosecutor” and “Peterson” mixed up, crimefile dude.

  87. Apropos of the discussion upthread:

QUESTION: On Sunday, October 28, 2007, did you last see your wife Stacy in your home before going to bed after coming home from work?

    ANSWER: Yes.

    RESULTS: Deceptive.

  88. No loss to you, Noway. Crimefile dude has a way about him that is pretty darn near Peterson’s and Brodsky’s. Deny, deny, deny. Everyone else is a liar and misleading. See, even if though crimefile dude doesn’t agree with Brodsky’s way of lawyering, judging by his expressing himself about polygraphs, he goes ahead and gets spoon fed Brodsky’s desired press releases through him, and he does it. He does exactly what Brodsky says he should do, but Peterson doesn’t have the same effect.

At least someone listens to the Brodskers.

  89. Crimefile Dude, it’s not too late for your own shot at fame. We know you had conversations with Joel Brodsky about doing PI work for the defense and that he’s been sending you info and documents to publish.

An arrest is imminent. Quick. Write your own book. All the kids are doing it! You might even get Glenn Selig to do free PR like he’s doing for Armstrong…

  90. Facs – not to worry. Brodsky says poly’s are unreliable, comparable to a coin flip. But, IF you do believe in them, according to Brodsky, he DID get some of them right.

    Damn, the coin flip stuff.

  91. Facs, I wonder what part of that made it deceptive … rats, I wish LE would give us a peek at the timeline he gave them!

  92. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Write a book, crimefile dude. Spill your guts – give out the gory details about what you really know. Because, you are NOTHING to Drew Peterson. He’d behead you in a New York minute if you peed him off.

Cross over, crimefile dude – come to the light. Get out of the darkness and make some money doing it. Write a book. Get on the tv shows.

  93. Noway, from what I found and posted upthread he has never given a consistent statement as to when he last saw Stacy. We could guess as to why that is…I certainly have my opinion.

  94. Thanks for the press release though, Paul.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow’s statement regarding the Stacy Peterson, Kathleen Savio investigations

    Contact:
    Charles B. Pelkie
    (815) 727-8789
    (815) 530-7110 (cellular)
    cpelkie@willcountyillinois.com

This statement is in response to media requests for comment regarding the one-year anniversary of the disappearance of Stacy Peterson. This statement may be attributed to Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow:

The Illinois State Police continue to conduct exhaustive investigations into the disappearance of Stacy Peterson and the murder of Kathleen Savio. The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office reopened the investigation into Kathleen Savio’s 2004 death, which occurred before I took office. After filing a petition with the court to exhume Kathleen Savio’s remains, a board certified forensic pathologist confirmed my assertion in that petition that her death was a homicide.

In addition, my office took the rare step of convening a Special Grand Jury in November 2007 to hear testimony and evidence regarding Stacy Peterson’s disappearance and Kathleen Savio’s murder. The Special Grand Jury is still receiving evidence. The investigations into both Stacy Peterson’s disappearance and Kathleen Savio’s murder have been highly productive. I fully expect there to be a resolution in at least one of these investigations in the near future.

Furthermore, it must be noted that these two investigations, as well as the investigation into the disappearance of Lisa Stebic, prompted me to draft a new law that will enable prosecutors across Illinois to use a murder victim’s cries for help as evidence at trial to convict her brutal killer. This common-sense legislation, which will become law in November, will enable prosecutors to bring previously inadmissible evidence to trial to ensure abusive murderers cannot profit from their wrongdoing. The new law will apply to crimes committed before its enactment. The provisions contained in this new law have recently been affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court.

I personally want to express my gratitude to the families and friends of both Stacy Peterson and Kathleen Savio for their patience, understanding and cooperation during the past year. We are committed to making certain that justice is served for them.

My office continues to work hard to assist the Illinois State Police in advancing both investigations under intense national and local media coverage. We have done our best to
respond to legitimate media queries without jeopardizing the integrity of these investigations or the secrecy of the Special Grand Jury. While this has proven difficult at times, I respect the professionalism displayed by the press during these investigations.

I am not fully content with the idea that she was even dead when she left that house. Not that I, for one minute, would give his “theory” any validity; I just mean that he may have severely injured her and he knew it, and he had to find a way to get her out of the house and get rid of her. He also must may have made some phone calls to make contact with someone to help him do it, and he knows he’s vulnerable to LE finding that out. There may be phone contacts that we have not heard about, who knows. But, it wasn’t just getting her out of the house. It was evidence and personal belongings too. He had his hands full with the mess he made, and he couldn’t have possibly thought of everything to save his sorry butt!

  97. Thanks for the press release Facs.!

Danya/Gatehouse-I saw this at another place and thought that it would be great for all of us here to remember what this is all about. It will make me think before I type 😉

I hope that it doesn’t violate the rules and it’s not too OT. It is put here with all good intentions for all of us to get back to the real reason that we are here. TO FIND STACY AND BRING JUSTICE FOR HER, KATHLEEN, THE CHILDREN AND THE FAMILIES!

I’m very excited that the family is having a search this weekend! This deals with that issue as well. It’s very well put so we all know that I couldn’t have written it 😉

I am speaking to the DrewKills and Ash/Len Blog persons.

Please try to put your pettiness away and think of STACY and ONLY STACY as you read the following. Thank you so much.

I know this is going to get lost in the WHITEOUT SPAM POSTS made by those from the HangDrew/DrewKills Blog site, but I just have a few things I want to say so I’m going to say them.

Why do you people think you have to use such horrible language? All of that cursing and nasty name calling is just not necessary. It IS POSSIBLE to get a point across without using profanity.

DO YOU PEOPLE THINK STACY WOULD APPROVE OF ALL THE PROFANITY?
I think she would not like it at all.

My God, the woman is missing now for a year, presumed dead, and all you can do is use profane language on blogs. How is that solving anything? How does that make the searches for Stacy look like something that decent people would want to get involved in?

Decent people would be wary to go on a search with a crowd of people who have such a lack of respect for themselves, no repect for the grieving family and friends who knew Stacy, no respect for strangers who might just want to lend a helping hand. Decent people just want to do the job at hand and not be afraid of what type of low-lifes might also be in attendance of the search group. Low-lifes. That is what you are making yourselves look like — trashy in other words.

For Stacy’s sake, can you tone down the profanity and act like it is the somber and sad occassion that is truly is? It is a search for a murder victim. Is is not?

I think more people in the community might show up for the searches if all this profanity and internet fighting stopped. This is all just so ugly. Stacy was a beautiful young woman who deserved more than what you ALL have been giving. Her children also deserve more than this. They deserve to have the murder case of their mother (and the search for her body) to be treated with respect and somberness.

Over on the DrewKills site, there are personal pictures posted of a young woman and her friends. She has been called terrible names. How is this helping to find Stacy?

Also on DrewKills, there are pictures of a woman’s car and licence plates, her name, address, and telephone number. How is this helping to find Stacy?

On Ash/Len’s Blog that is now closed, there are pornographic pictures of a woman posted. How is this helping to find Stacy?

Also there are names and phone numbers etc posted of other women that Drew has supposedly dated or whatever. How is this helping to find Stacy?

How is any of this helping to find Stacy? Does your conscience tell you that you are a bad person for doing these awful things? It should.

You have verbally attacked a young woman (Cassandra) who has lost her sister. CASS HAS LOST HER SISTER! Does this not even register to you people anymore? Have you lost sight of the goal here? It’s not a GAME! It’s not your personal SOAP OPERA! Aren’t you ashamed of yourselves?

I am asking the DrewKills and Ash/Len BLOG people these questions.

I applaud The Judge Roy Bean for helping to track the IP’s of these people in an effort to stop them. It’s high time they were stopped. The ugliness needs to be aborted now.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope everyone thinks about what I said.

    Sincerely,
    SadForStacy

Jury details set in Peterson gun case
    October 23, 2008

    By JOE HOSEY JHOSEY@SCN1.COM

JOLIET — Prosecutors and attorneys for Drew Peterson hammered out the details Thursday afternoon for jury selection in his felony gun trial.

The lengthy discussions primarily were held behind closed doors in the chambers of Judge Richard Schoenstedt.

Schoenstedt said 150 potential jurors would be summoned for Dec. 5, and would be subjected to a questionnaire prior to the actual jury selection.

During a break from the discussions, Peterson’s attorney, Joel Brodsky, refuted a statement by Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow that there would be a resolution soon in the investigation of the March 2004 death of Peterson’s third wife, Kathleen Savio, and the October 2007 disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.

“There is an election in a couple days. I think it has more to do with that than anything else,” Brodsky said. “We have heard an arrest is imminent for many months now. I don’t believe any of that.”

Charles B. Pelkie, spokesman for Glasgow, said, “State’s Attorney Glasgow is confident that at least one of these investigations will come to a resolution at some point in the near future.”

  99. Oh-and this person didn’t use one nasty word or say anything negative about you know who to get their wonderful point across.

I hope that others follow the lead. May this weekend bring unity for Stacy and the search to bring her home!

Peterson’s lawyers, judge meet in gun case
    October 23, 2008 at 5:30 PM

Attorneys in Drew Peterson’s felony gun case discussed jury selection in Will County Court today.

Peterson is charged with possessing a modified assault rifle with a barrel nearly 5 inches shorter than state law allows. The case is scheduled to begin Dec. 8, with jury selection starting Dec. 5.

The lawyers met in closed chambers with Judge Richard Schoenstedt to discuss the questions they plan to ask prospective jurors.

A Will County grand jury has been looking into the disappearance of Peterson’s wife, Stacy. The jury also is reviewing evidence in the death of his ex-wife Kathleen Savio. Peterson has not been charged in either case.

  101. Hi danamck,

Sorry, I did not respond sooner! I had to step away for awhile to get some work accomplished.

No, my yorkie is not a tea cup. Although he is very tiny. The most they said he will weigh is 7 lbs.

  102. “There is an election in a couple days. I think it has more to do with that than anything else,” Brodsky said. “We have heard an arrest is imminent for many months now. I don’t believe any of that.”

    ************

He also said that he would never allow his client to take a polygraph examination.

    Gottcha!

  103. Brodsky said this when Mims said there was a gun in Peterson’s possession (folding gun):

Peterson’s attorney Joel Brodsky denies the existence of any folding gun…..”This whole folding gun thing is ridiculous,” Brodsky says. “I know Drew has told me there’s never been anything about a folding gun.”

    or this about tapes:

His lawyer, Joel Brodsky, does not believe the tapes exist at all.

“We know Illinois State Police would never allow an undercover informant to talk to the media about the contents of an undercover investigation,” he told reporters yesterday.

Even if the tapes do exist, Brodsky told the AP, “there’s certainly nothing incriminating on there.”

Oh Carp-You caught me. Lol. You are right and I have been fooling everyone. I am writing an exclusive book for this case. It’s time to get out of the closet and tell the truth. It feels so, so, so good to get it out. Thank you shorthaul! Please forgive me my friends here for misleading you that I am just a concerned person that cares about this case. I am really in it for the wealth of writing my wonderful book, need help with the title- It’s either going to be titled “Solving the Fish Controversy of Using Live Bait or Spinners.” OR, Second choice “Ant Farm Escapees, how to clean up the mess, raid or stomping?”

Do you think that I can top Armstrong’s book?

I have been found out. Damn 🙂 Can we start a poll and see what title the book should be? I will donate some of the billions that I make. You can trust me on that. 😉

No, I wasn’t drinking when I made this post. 🙂
