  1. I just wanted to say kudos to Rescue for finding that press release from Armstrong.

I was about to offer a cash reward!

  2. I found an interesting article out there that has a headline that Drew will surely save and put in his “Sinister Sells” celebrity scrap book. It also states that all Drew has to do is file for a dissolution of marriage and if Stacy doesn’t respond within 30 days the divorce is final. I know that Illinois is a no-fault state so maybe that is truly the case but this seems like it is the first time I read that – everyone else is saying that he has to prove she abandonded him.

    This Beats Blago: Drew’s Engaged
    Peterson’s engaged for fifth time
Updated 1:17 PM CST, Wed, Dec 17, 2008

Drew Peterson is single no more. He reportedly has gotten engaged, for the 5th time, to a 23-year-old woman.

Drew Peterson is is getting married. His fiance? A 23-year-old woman.

Spokesman Glenn Selig says the engagement happened a few days ago. He said the woman has met Peterson’s kids and they “get along well.”

They are not disclosing her name due to privacy.

Selig reportedly said Peterson decided to get engaged because he wants to be happy and move on with his life.

The announcement marks the fifth time Peterson has gotten engaged, and according to a divorce attorney, there’s no legal issue with him getting engaged. To remarry legally, the attorney said, all he has to do is file for dissolution of the marriage.

If his current wife, Stacy Peterson, who has been missing since October 2007, doesn’t respond within 30 days, their marriage is legally over.

According to reports, Peterson said the woman has accepted. No wedding date has been set.

The former Bolingbrook police officer remains a suspect in the death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. He has also been implicated in the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, and that case is still under investigation.

  3. BTW – the Blago impeachment session is available right now on cnn.com. It is pretty colorful right now with Blago’s lawyer talking and people arguing with him.

  4. think – There was much more discussion about Drew Peterson’s option as far as a dissolution of his marriage. If I recall, I remember reading that a judge is every bit likely to want absolute proof that his wife abandoned him or is deceased. It just doesn’t seem logical that anyone can “lose” their spouse, take up dating a mere few months later, and then cry abandonment and expect all of the marital assets and a divorce. That’s just too easy.

No way I believe that is going to happen.

  5. “To remarry legally, the attorney said, all he has to do is file for dissolution of the marriage.

“Huh – this is interesting considering we have this rival quote from another paper today:

“Leving told FOXNews.com that Peterson had not yet filed for divorce.

Desertion for at least one year is grounds for divorce under Illinois law — though Peterson, as the divorce petitioner, would have to show he wasn’t at fault for causing his wife to leave, Leving said.”

  6. “To remarry legally, the attorney said, all he has to do is file for dissolution of the marriage.”

    It’s that easy, heh?

  7. Here are some things that I found out on http://www.divorcesupport.com/divorce/Illinois-Divorce-Laws-508.html.

I’m not sure exactly if this applies to Drew but it seems like that he could possibly do a no-fault divorce. They have definitely been living apart for more than 6 months. And if she doesn’t respond then he may actually still be awarded the divorce although there is nothing here that states what happens to the financial assets.

I think that if he goes the abandonment divorce it may increase his chances of being able to retain all of his assets but I’m not positive.

The grounds for dissolution of marriage are as follows:

    No-Fault Based Grounds:
Living separate and apart for a continuous period of at least two years and irreconcilable differences are deemed to have caused the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage.

    Fault Based Grounds:
    (1) Impotence; (2) Previosly married and never divorced; (3) Adultery; (4) the respondent has wilfully deserted or absented himself or herself from the petitioner for the space of one year, including any period during which litigation may have pended between the spouses for dissolution of marriage or legal separation;( 5) Habitual drunkenness for at least two years; (6) Drug addiction for at least two years (7) Repeated and extreme physical or mental cruelty (8) Felony conviction or imprisionment (9) Infection with a sexually transmitted disease. (750 Illinois Compiled Statutes – Chapter 5 – Sections: 401)

In a No-Fault action, a divorce is granted when the couple lives apart and without cohabitation for two years (or six months if neither spouse contests the divorce). There is no minimum waiting period between the filing or a divorce petition and the granting of the dissolution.

If the other spouse cannot be located, courts require that a good faith effort “using reasonable means” has been tried. A spouse may divorce a missing spouse undertaking what is called Service by Publication — a newspaper advertisement informing him or her that there is a divorce proceeding against him or her. In this routine, the Petitioner files for divorce in the normal manner, and then runs the advertisement in a newspaper of general circulation. The Petitioner must also sign an affidavit stating he or she looked for the spouse to the best of his or her ability, and the action then proceeds as what is called a default divorce.
In a default divorce, the Respondent does not do anything, and the Petitioner spouse wins the action by default.

  8. Living separate and apart is one thing. Being wiped off the face of the earth and crying abandonment is another.

Living separate and apart takes a party of two. There’s only one party here that is “living,” and I believe it’s going to be a little tricky trying to make this a joint effort when Stacy isn’t here to speak up on her behalf.

I think he’s got to show either she abandoned him through no fault of his, or that she’s dead. I honestly think a judge will first see how Stacy’s disappearance plays out from a crime standpoint. What would a judge accomplish by agreeing to Drew Peterson’s terms when no one knows her fate, or a determination made?

Also, I believe a judge would have access to various law enforcement reports, evidence, etc., before he makes a decision on his divorce.

He consulted with Leving. If it was so doable, he would have had his papers signed, sealed and delivered to a divorce court. He hasn’t. He is in the trick bag because of what potentially may come out.

  9. Facs – I am with you there. I think if it was that easy he would have done it already when he wanted to marry Ashley.

But I also think that some of the consultation is to ensure he takes the route where he is able to preserve as much of his assets as possible.

  10. If she ran off with another, he can’t prove it. Because, if he could prove it, he would have done so by now. He has no basis for making this statement. It’s merely his own mouth talking. No facts, no basis.

If she abandoned him, how is he going to get past the fact that she told numerous people she was afraid he would kill her, she talked to a divorce attorney, and she told Pastor Schori that he killed his former wife? That doesn’t sound like he had nothing to do with her wanting to abandon him, does it?

How is he going to prove that he left no stone unturned looking for Stacy, as I believe he must show he made an effort to locate her in this divorce saga. The only time he made a trip out of town was to appear on a news show, or give an interview.

He’s so far up his own butt, he can’t think straight anymore. All he knows is he found a patsy, a dummy, that, for all we know, he has to pay to be with, and he’s so blinded by it, he’ll do anything to further it.

I honestly, truly believe he’s going to mess up big time now trying to accomplish this marriage. He’s mentally unbalanced, it’s quite clear. He hasn’t made any rational decisions up to this point by his actions, and this will finish him off for sure.

  11. I think the law will be on Drews side again and if it isn’t Drew knows how to manipulate the law to his advantage as we’ve seen many times before.

He has been able to do his homework most likely even from before Stacy went “missing” and set himself on the course he wants to go.

If he needs to proof to the Courts Stacy actually “left” him, he will produce reports from all the PI’s he’s supposedly engaged to look for her and that’s probably all that is required.

If the Courts need information from LE, that info will then also be available to Drews Defense team, which could also be behind his quicky divorce and engagement, to once again force the Prosecution to show their hand.

Drew would never do anything that is not to his long or short term advantage (!!)

  12. How is he going to prove that he left no stone unturned looking for Stacy, as I believe he must show he made an effort to locate her in this divorce saga. The only time he made a trip out of town was to appear on a news show, or give an interview.

Drew doesn’t needto show he left no stone unturned looking for Stacy.

All he has to do is this:

The Petitioner must also sign an affidavit stating he or she looked for the spouse to the best of his or her ability.

  13. “The party claiming desertion must prove the absence of the other spouse for a minimum of a year and a day and must also prove, generally by testimony, that the desertion was not caused or provoked by the party left behind.

Illinois case law protects the innocent spouse in a situation where he or she is forced out of the home because of the other spouse’s behavior. The law will not allow the wrongdoer spouse, in this situation, to claim desertion against the innocent spouse.

  14. Just – I respectfully disagree that it’s going to be easy for Peterson.

Maybe the cops will get that one tip they need as to where to look for Stacy’s remains. Peterson might just be foggy brained enough and want to marry his new love so much, he’ll find a way to get that body discovered.

According to Craig Stebic’s divorce attorney, who is Dion Davi:

Under the law in Illinois, where Peterson lives, a divorce can be granted for desertion or abandonment after a spouse has been gone more than a year – but a judge must be convinced that one party willingly walked out.

“Until Drew can show that Stacy definitely deserted him or is dead, a judge is not going to do anything,” Chicago divorce attorney Dion Davi told The ENQUIRER.

  15. http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/11/18/peterson.divorce.lawyer/

” In a phone conversation, Peterson confirmed to Armstrong that he was “getting information” and “exploring options.”

Armstrong pressed Peterson, who responded, “A desertion. She deserted me.” ”

So…if this is truly the route he chooses to go… I do foresee a little more trouble than just putting a notice in the paper.

However, if her remains were to somehow show up somewhere the divorce would be a moot point.

One can only hope the new fiance is an undercover cop !

Heck – I’d settle for a bimbo banking on a buck if there is some way she can help settle the mystery behind Stacy’s disappearance and/or Kathleen’s death!

  17. “bimbo banking on a buck?”

Is that like him “riDDing her like a bucking bronco?” Cuz, he’s into that stuff, you know.

  18. facsmiley // December 17, 2008 at 3:46 pm

Yeah – wouldn’t it be swell if DP talks in his sleep?

Yeah, he should seriously worry about that, especially if he is over tired (!!)

  19. theo1104 // December 17, 2008 at 3:51 pm

What is wrong with this dumb woman i guess she wants to be the fifth one or number three to die or missing!!!!!!!!!

What do you think is wrong with her, theo???

Bettcha her face and identity isn’t going to be a secret for long. Won’t her family be proud?

Isn’t Drew Peterson’s adult son and daughter-in-law proud? They must be. They’ve have a 23 year old baby sitter to help them out once they have their own little baby in January. So, the future Mrs. Peterson can take care of two teens, two little people, and a little grandchild.

    Oh, that is so special.

  20. We should applaud the woman instead as if she gets to live long enough to attend Drews Court case for murdering one or maybe two previous wives, she will make an excellent witness for the Prosecution !

  21. Well, just, as long as she can hold off becoming the next Mrs. Peterson, she’s got a chance at survival. Or, as long as that GPS that he tracks her with doesn’t show her going off the beaten path and she doesn’t threaten to leave the relationship.

  22. Well so far she has a 50% chance of surviving a marriage to Drew.

If she doesn’t the odds for a future wife no 6 would be considerably less.

  23. She’ll be a step grandma at 23 yrs old! She’ll have his kids, while he’s in the big house.
Honey save your money, buy your own diamond ring, if thats whats got you dazzled!

  24. JAH – Actually Armstrong released his own news report this morning independently. The Selig press release came later, as a form of “damage control” I’m sure. A little late, I think.

  25. Does it matter much if it is Selig, Armstrong, Brodsky or Drew himself coming out with a statement.

Which one ever does tell the truth ??

  26. They’re all very disorganized right now. I have no doubt that if either or any of them crosses Drew Peterson and screws up his love interest and his chances of her ending the relationship due to family pressure, etc., heads will roll.

  27. No noway, in another few years Drew will say this woman was an aspiring stripper from a severely dysfunctional family and he rescued her from a life of misfortune, gave her everything she wanted, paid for her improvements, gave her jewellery and fur coats, yet she turned out to be ungrateful and her family sponged of him.

    Then it’s onto wife no 6 ……….

  28. noway406 // December 17, 2008 at 5:45 pm

    Or victim #4?

    Exactly !!

Meanwhile, get the barf bag ready for upcoming nauseating statements from the new fiance what a Knight In Shining Armour Drew Peterson is, how much In Love they are and how Drew never killed anyone as he told her he’s innocent (!!)

  29. “You try to keep a personal life,” he lamented in a brief telephone interview with The Associated Press, saying that another relationship he had been in since his wife’s disappearance ended when the media found about it.

LOL, did he say he tries to keep a personal life? Did he really say that?

  30. Yes, Drew needs a woman, all narcissists need someone who pumps them up daily, who feeds their ego, it’s like blood or oxygen to them.

They cannot live without the 24/7 attention.

BUT, once the new honey realizes what he is (like Kathleen & Stacy did) and they no longer ADORE him, he will get rid of her, just like he did the rest.

I hope she reads this board & sees this, cause this is the truth!!

All she needs to do is look at the pattern of things in his life.

  31. A little entertainment for you all.

This is what a cute, “svelte” 23 year old should be interested in:

    Not this:

  32. Sweet – the Pastor is getting the word out on that rat, Armstrong!

Sgt. Drew Peterson … Stacy Peterson …. and now a recorded conversation?

    by Greta Van Susteren

Do you remember Stacy Peterson? vanished a year ago…and now her husband Sgt. Drew Peterson is engaged to be married to a 23 year old. But that’s not all….do you remember Stacy’s minister? Neil Schori? Pastor Schori gave us an interview ON THE RECORD at 10pm that was stunning! He said Stacy was afraid of Drew Peterson etc. Well, as you will see below, Pastor Schori is angry…… ..angry about a crime author named Derek Armstrong. Pastor Schori sent me this letter to ask me to set the record straight..here is his letter:

    To: Van Susteren, Greta
    Subject: Derek Armstrong

I need to set the record straight. I did not grant Derek Armstrong an exclusive interview. I tracked him down to confront him about the things that he said in his book about me and about his horrible choice of pictures that he chose to have published (of Stacy and Cassandra).

After talking with him for about 40 minutes, he casually asked if he may let people know that we had spoken. I said that was no problem as long as he shared why we had spoken in the first place, i.e., for me to contact him about his falsehoods and speculation in his book.

I was contacted by ABC a couple of weeks later to tell me that Armstrong had recorded our conversation. Let me be really clear—I did not authorize that in any way, shape, or form.

Please get this out for me, Greta.

  33. I’ve heard this girl Christina Raines is not the girl Drew is dating.. If you read the article the girl denies she is dating or engaged to Drew. There has been positive confirmation that the girl Drew is dating is actually Kim Raines. I dont know if there is any relation or anything about the girl. She has been hanging out there for months however.

Drew Peterson says he’s engaged to a 23-year-old woman
Wife Stacy was same age when she disappeared

    December 18, 2008
Drew Peterson’s latest fiance is said to be 23 years old.

Nothing gets people talking like an engagement announcement, but news that Drew Peterson had popped the question to a 23-year-old woman sparked a range of reactions Wednesday, from disbelief to revulsion.

After all, he’s married. And, he’s the suspect in his wife’s disappearance.

Indeed, the Chicago media scrambled when Peterson’s publicist issued a statement confirming the 54-year-old former Bolingbrook police sergeant is now engaged.

Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy, was 23 when she vanished in October 2007. The death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, whose body was found in a dry bathtub, has since been reclassified a homicide. Peterson hasn’t been charged in either case.

Still, he didn’t strike some people as marriage material. Pam Bosco, spokeswoman for Stacy’s family, could barely contain her disgust.

“We’re just playing into his publicity stunt,” she said. “We know nothing about this woman, we don’t know if she exists. … If it was from something very private and special, it would have been kept that way.”

Peterson declined to reveal who his latest lady love is, protesting that their privacy would be jeopardized.

He insisted he was tired of media attention and that reporters would not be invited to the wedding.

“So they can ruin that too?” he scoffed. “Oh, boy. This is nothing that I want.”

But, he noted, letting in the media could offer a few perks.

“I could probably get free photographers and two dozen videographers,” he said with a laugh.

  35. Dad afraid his daughter will be Drew’s next wife
I’m doing everything i can to get her away from him

….”That ain’t going to happen,” Ernie Raines said. “I’m doing everything I can to try to get her away from him. . . . I’d like to say to him: Stay away from my daughter, take his ring back and look for his wife before he’s out trying to get another young girl.”
Peterson’s lawyer confirmed the 54-year-old former Bolingbrook police sergeant is engaged to be married. Peterson refused to say who accepted his proposal, but denied that it’s ,Raines’ daughter Christina, 24.

Christina Raines, a waitress, also denied that she’s the one, saying she’s friends with Peterson but never dated him or got a marriage proposal.

But a police source said she is the bride-to-be, and her father insists, “It’s her.”

Ernie Raines said his daughter is trying to avoid the publicity that has followed Peterson since his wife, Stacy, disappeared in October 2007. Peterson has been named as a suspect in her “potential homicide” and is being investigated in the 2004 homicide of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

Ernie Raines said his daughter told him about Peterson’s proposal when he spotted a ring on her finger Friday.

“I said, ‘You need to take that back. If you don’t want to, I will,’ ” said Ernie Raines, 53. “I said, why would you want to marry someone like that anyway? He’s my age for Christ’s sake.”

Christina Raines said her dad’s got it wrong — it was just a friendship ring from someone else. She said she doesn’t know who Peterson plans to marry.

…..Ernie Raines said he and his daughter met Peterson at a Bolingbrook laundromat years ago, and that she has been friendly with him for months. Peterson has brought her roses, taken her to “Blue Man Group,” promised to buy her a car and even autographed a book for him, Ernie Raines said.

Concerned about Peterson — “I don’t want a third one to come up missing” — Ernie Raines said he drove to Peterson’s house last month to “let him know that I’m here, that I’m around, that I know where he lives.”

He said Peterson asked him, “Did you get my book?”

“We talked, I said, ‘You know me, I’d kill for my kids, you know that,’ ” Ernie Raines said. “He told me: ‘I will never do nothing to hurt your daughter, that’s why I didn’t put her name out.’ ”

Ernie Raines thinks his daughter sees security with Peterson. “He’s got a house. He’s got money.”

But, as a father, he sees troubles.

“I said, if you don’t answer your [cell] phone, don’t worry about it,” Raines said. “I’ll drive my Cadillac right through his house.”

This guy seems like he will keep an eye on the suspect also.

New Court Case For Suspect/Killer Drew

Looks like the Suspect/Killer Drew has yet another court date coming up and it appears to be about Kathleen Savio and her estate:

    PETERSON DREW 2 18 9 RVJC 830 04P 000232 Status

This is a probate case and it is from 2004 ( the year Suspect killed Kathleen) hence the case #04P 000232 so with any luck the shit is finally starting to hit the fan about Kathleen Savio and this MURDERER will get served a dose of karma – the court case will be on February 18th, 2009 at the RVJC/River Valley Justice Center which is a branch office of the Will County Court House where all probate cases are heard and is located at 3200 W. McDonough, Joliet, IL 60431.

I love the fact that just when he thinks he is all done with court the gun charges are brought back up thru an appeal process and then another court case appears for Kathleen Savio – run this no good f***** into the ground and don’t stop!!!

I wonder why “Glen Selig/PR-Public Retard” didn’t post anything about this court case on his train wreck of a website and will Shit Bag Joel be available for Interviews on this one?? Lmao – you bunch of lame f****!!

  37. “He said Peterson asked him, “Did you get my book?””

And yet his attorney keeps claiming that it isn’t Drew’s book.

  38. “I said, if you don’t answer your [cell] phone, don’t worry about it,” Raines said. “I’ll drive my Cadillac right through his house.”

I heard this read on WGN this morning and it made me laugh. Oh, yes.

  39. I wonder why it is that Drew, his love interests, and his lawyer never take the same stance on the status of these relationships?

If Drew and Joel are willing to admit that the jig is up, why can’t they get Chrissy on board?
