You’re in the Right Place…

…it just looks a little different.

Yep, this used to be called The Search for Stacy Peterson. We’ve changed the name based on your feedback, to Justice Cafe.

The appearance has also been changed to something less glaring and white. But the site is basically the same.  None of the content has changed.  All the old posts and comments are still here.  Use the menu on the right to see the latest posts and comments.

What did ex-fiancee tell Peterson jury?
    Raines escorted by state police
    February 5, 2009

    By JOE HOSEY jhosey@scn1.com
For more than 15 months, state police have struggled to solve the puzzle of what happened to Stacy Peterson, and they just might crack the case if a young woman who recently lived in her house for a few weeks has any inside information.

Christina Raines, the 24-year-old purported fiancee and former live-in lover of the missing Stacy Peterson’s husband, Drew Peterson, was hauled before the grand jury Thursday morning. She left in the company of her boyfriend and a couple state cops.

Drew Peterson’s ex-fiancee Christina Raines appeared today on CBS’ “The Early Show.”
    (Rich Hein/Sun-Times/CBS)
The state police were charged with unraveling the mystery of Stacy Peterson’s October 2007 disappearance. They classified the missing woman’s case a “potential homicide” and named her much older, Bolingbrook police sergeant husband their sole suspect.

Stacy Peterson is Drew Peterson’s fourth wife, and her disappearance allowed state police to take another stab at the bizarre apparent bathtub drowning of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

Peterson and Savio were in the midst of a contentious divorce when she turned up dead in her dry tub in March 2004. State police failed to find any sign of foul play and her death was ruled an accident.

But when Stacy Peterson vanished, the case was revisited and authorities determined Savio was the victim of a homicide. The state police have not identified Savio’s killer, or even any suspects in the case.

A grand jury was convened soon after Stacy Peterson disappeared. The grand jury has heard testimony from dozens of witnesses, the most recent of whom was Raines, the woman who moved with her two children into Peterson’s home in December but split while being filmed by a camera crew last week.

    ‘Ridiculous’

Asked whether he may have said anything incriminating to Raines during their time together, Peterson sarcastically replied, “Oh yeah, without a doubt.”

“No, that would be ridiculous,” Peterson said Thursday. “I mean, think about it.”

Peterson speculated his former fiancee’s police escort was to ensure she showed up for the grand jury appearance.

“I’m sure she didn’t even want to go,” he said.

In addition to Raines, the grand jury has been visited by another former girlfriend, an ex-wife, an former fiancee, his mother, stepfather, an attorney who represented him in a divorce, the attorney who represented Savio in her divorce, identical twin male nurses, various friends, an assortment of in-laws and past in-laws, a minister from a church he attended and others.

“I think they’re going after my kindergarten teacher next,” Peterson said.

Raines’ father, Ernie Raines, who has called Peterson the “devil,” did not know what his daughter discussed with the grand jury.

“I don’t know nothing till she calls me,” Ernie Raines said. “I didn’t live inside (Peterson’s) house. Whatever Chrissy’s got to say, she’s keeping it to herself.”

  2. “Peterson speculated his former fiancee’s police escort was to ensure she showed up for the grand jury appearance.

“I’m sure she didn’t even want to go,” he said.”

Well, she is very shy. “She doesn’t take to new faces and people.” 😉

  3. Wasted no time getting her in there. Decent.

Also, would like to refresh memories that (Ashley) Len had that Raines info on his blog way, way, way back.

He just keeps proving to us he is not a-foolin’ kids.

Big ups to him on that info 😉

  4. Hi ya Hedidit!

Yes, you are correct – a high-five to Hang’s, since they are on top of things and make sure the creep is exposed for who and what he really is, not what some schlock author tries to make of him, merely to make money.

  5. Hey Rescue,

All I can say is they had that info and all rumors thus far about Len have been unfounded. Maybe folks not feelin’ the way things went down, which is fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion. All I can say is my opinion is I think they are legends and when the trial comes, the proof will be forthcoming.

GJ isn’t gonna keep on meeting all this time for shits & giggles. Judge keeps renewing overhear orders? For what? For the goods I say. Plain as day.

It’s a slow process but then again, suspect has a big mouth, likes to parade about on TV & print.

Last hurrah for him. We got time. I have no worries. I believe the GJ has SO much stuff that’s why it’s taking forever. You have 2 potential murder cases and that’s just what we know, who knows what other shady stuff suspect was doing – for years mind you, like back in the Anthony Bindy Rock days.

    Good grief Charlie Brown!

  6. Yup – HDI – you can’t fault two people who took on a scary guy who happens to have a tough time keeping his wives alive.

We do have time. The slob is withering away in the wind. We have plenty of time.

Drew Peterson speaks to In Session
    Posted: 03:20 PM ET

NEW YORK–Drew Peterson gave his first interview since the breakup of his relationship with former fiancée Christina Raines to anchor Lisa Bloom this morning on her show, Open Court. Peterson spoke via telephone to Bloom, who was joined in studio by Peterson’s attorney, Joel Brodsky.

Peterson denied statements by Raines that their engagement was a “stunt” and maintained she initially proposed to him – saying Raines asked him five times to marry him before he relented. Brodsky revealed he was against the engagement because “the public reaction to Drew getting engaged or having a young woman move in with him right now was probably not in his best interest.” Watch Lisa Bloom’s Open Court segment.

For the first time, Peterson spoke out about his relationship with Raines. Peterson said he knew Raines since she was 15, and helped her out when she was a runaway or got into fistfights with other young girls. He said Raines was pressured to leave him, and by doing so she and her children left the “happiest, healthiest environment that she ever lived in.”

Peterson denied asking Raines to wear clothes belonging to his missing wife, saying instead that he offered her clothing he was packing up because Raines didn’t have very much. He called the actions of Raines’ father, coming to his home with a film crew to get Raines’ belongings, a “stunt.” Brodsky said he was on the phone with Peterson during the incident, and said the stuff was already “all packed up and ready to go.”

Peterson talked about the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, his missing wife, and insisted that she left him. He said he tells his younger children that Stacy is “on vacation.” Pressed by Lisa Bloom for details, Peterson, for the first time, said he “agreed that it was suspicious circumstances.” He had no explanation as to why there are no phone records, texts, emails or other evidence to substantiate his story that Stacy Peterson ran off with another man.

Tune into Lisa Bloom Open Court weekdays from 9-11 a.m. on In Session

  8. Boobsky gets himself on tv, and, lo and behold, he professes that he advised his client that it was a bad, bad idea, to get engaged to a 24 year old and have her move in. Seems he thought it might not do much for his image.

Same thing he basically said about the lie detector exam. Said he told him client not to do it, and that it was a bad, bad idea. What does his client do? Exactly the opposite of what his attorney tells him to do.

See, it’s as we all thought. The inmate is running the insane asylum.

What else is insane is that this lawyer lets his client tie him up and shove him in the corner.

  9. Seriously, the fact that he is into teenagers and young women is just so creepifying.

    And it’s not getting better.

    Hi, I’m pushing 60.

I like to date teenagers or women who are younger than some of my children. No, not the children that my nearly teenage wife gave birth to, the other ones.

It’s not cool, it’s gross! It’s borderline pedophile. And, hello? Are you Liz Taylor? How many times do you need to get married before you go, well, hm, we might have a problem here.

What is the rule? Date for a few months and get engaged? Again. and again. and again. and again.

    Protocol?

    1. Date for a few months, check.
    2. Check with publicist and attorney, check.
    3. Yes, green light, we can make a buck, cheque.

    WTF?

  10. Yeah, yeah, I’m funny like a crutch 😉

Really though, I’m thinkin’ way back to when I was in my 20’s. And, even now, I look at him and think, no, I could never be that mad at my nether regions.

Oh and then there’s that lil sticky part about being a murder suspect. Yeah that too.

  11. “Peterson denied asking Raines to wear clothes belonging to his missing wife, saying instead that he offered her clothing he was packing up because Raines didn’t have very much.”

    ****

I had not even heard rumor that he was going to make her wear Stacy’s clothes. I thought Armstrong said Stacy’s clothes was put away to make room for Chrissy’s clothes. That is just freaky, freaky, freaky for him to even offer Stacy’s clothing.

  12. If you watch the InSession video from the link above you hear Drew start getting really, really pissed off that Lisa Bloom is asking questions about why Stacy only called him and no one else. He raises his voice and sounds pretty hot under the collar.

Then Joel goes on to say that Neil Schori told Armstrong that the conversation with Stacy about Drew confessing to her about killing Kathleen never happened. Ummm – Where’s the tape on that?? I think Joel is mis-stating that as Neil has come on here before to explain what his call to Armstrong was – which was to tell him that he wasn’t happy with the way Armstrong represented him in the book.

  13. But Brodsky, who was among the first to confirm Peterson’s engagement to Raines in December, suddenly claimed to have little knowledge of his client’s affairs of the heart.

“I don’t know,” Brodsky said. “I don’t get involved in his personal life.”

    *********

How does that statement reconcile with this statement:

Brodsky revealed he was against the engagement because “the public reaction to Drew getting engaged or having a young woman move in with him right now was probably not in his best interest.”

  14. It’s good to hear the Grand Jury is still working. Maybe Drew is right that Chrissy didn’t want to testify – you know how those runaway girls that were allowed to run wild with no parental supervision that turn out to be hot young women are. Either that or maybe she’s afraid. I’d pick #2 if I were a betting woman.

  15. TAI – Yes, absolutely heard that and was outraged!

He manipulated that segment in his own sick way. However, fortunately, I think that fell on it’s dead ass because Armstrong is the one that concocted that stupid story, and no one pays any attention to Armstrong! It never got any legs in the mainstream media, so no one would even pay any attention to that.

Besides, as I inferred above, Boobsky talks out of both sides of his mouth, heh?

  16. Just dropping in to say hello and everything looks very nice. Looking forward to our chats together. Heading off to bed now, have a good nite.

  17. Can we talk about where did some of those pics in Armstrong’s book come from? Like, TWO of them were mine, that I personally took and that I posted on a private forum.

How did they become property of Brodskey & Odeh?

    Hm?

    Anyone?

I don’t know how things work but if you posted it somewhere that others that were registered were able to grab and it didn’t include some kind of disclaimer not to copy it then I’d think someone could take it.

I wonder how that works now with digital cameras. In the old days you could bring in your negative to show that you took the photo. Now the memory cards that go into cameras also fit directly in cameras and they are read-write capable not read-only like film.

You could probably talk to someone to see if you can bring a lawsuit about it.

  19. I’m very impressed with Lisa Bloom. It’s too bad those two have had so long to practice their stories.

Brodsky’s “tell” is always the stutter though. Watch for the moments when he begins to stutter and stammer…

  20. It probably ticked off Drew that Lisa Bloom (who is a very nice looking and somewhat young lady) wasn’t flirty with him! LOL!

  21. Yeah, well, how does Boobsky explain why, when he tells his client not to do something because it’s a bad idea and works against him, the goof does it anyway. Hmmm? What’s the logic there, what’s the reason, what’s the explanation.

Why does a lawyer stay with a client who neither heeds his advice, nor does himself any good by ignoring that advice?

Money? Fame whore? What is the reason?

  22. Facs,
No doubt about it I know how to and can prove my pics are mine 😉

    Thinkaboutit:
Not interested in lawsuit, more interested in WHO in the world would take a pic off of a PRIVATE FORUM and hand it over to those clowns?

That is what intrigues me so.

  23. HDI – I had forgotten about that – about Lisa Bloom being Allred’s daughter. She was on, I believe, the panel when the two dips were on LKL, and she wasn’t Boobsky bff then either.

Boobsky was a babbling idiot. Doesn’t exactly look good for a lawyer to have a client who goes against any advice he gives him and does what he pleases.

The biggest opportunist and rat of all time? Someone who profits off the misfortunes of others? Someone who tapes a conversation when the person on the other end of the phone says that the conversation is “off the record”? And then tries to sell it?

  25. You are so correct Rescue.

And JB’s appearance on LKL is where I would like to point out again, is where JB, attorney in Chicago, stated there hadn’t been a no body case in Illinois since the 1800’s.

    He is wrong.

Any Chicagoan worth their Borax knows of the late columnist Dorsey Connors, whose daughter was missing and lo and behold, the hubs did it, he was prosecuted, not long ago.

This link refers to the Stacy Peterson case, after she went missing mind you:

    Snip from the article:

Cook County prosecutors didn’t have a body or a murder weapon, but they still had enough to convict Lyng of murder in March, 1994.

Someone with no morals? Pointing it out won’t make them feel bad though – they are opportunists willing to put negative statements (some true and more made up) about a potential victim, her family, and possible witnesses out there.

  27. How sad… Peterson and Brodsky do all they can to stay in the press, yet even so, the case is already starting to fade into the background.

It’s too bad, and I can only hope it isn’t altogether forgotten as the Stebic case has been.

Let me just say that I hope this blog continues to be live up to its reputation and continues to be a major source of information on the Peterson case until the day he is finally put away for good!

  28. Oh, as for the pictures, IF Armstrong stole them, then you can (and I would say SHOULD) sue him for theft of intellectual property.

After all, he put pictures he did not own the copyright to in his work, which he is making a profit off of. It would be like me burning a copy of a CD and selling it.

It also shows that he is rather unethical.

You can easily prove when you originally took pictures, and other people have gone into how. If you put it on a fourm, then it has also been recorded there. Remember, everything you do on the internet CAN be traced, no matter how anonymous you think you are or how many Proxies you use…

I am going to add my two cents in and say that Peterson, Brodsky, Odeh, Armstrong and God only knows who else all no doubt follow this case on the internet, and it wouldn’t be hard for them to create a dummy account and harvest pics or comments from other posters.

Well… it might be a little hard for Brodsky, since he lacks opposible thumbs and only has rudimentary comprehension abilities, but I digress.

Point is, be careful what you say. Always assume that Brodsky and co. are reading your posts. Also, if you guys ARE reading my posts…

For Armstrong and Selig, stop pretending that you are ‘journalists’ and just admit you are sleazy con men… your making a whole profession look bad guys.

For Brodsky, please for the LOVE OF GOD use a stronger deoderant. Whatever your using isn’t good enough man…

For Odeh, would you consider wearing a bikini? I mean, it would obviously make you look more professional in court, right?

For Abood… I’ve got nothing, really.

And for Peterson, just give it a rest. You are annoying and we’re all getting sick and tired of you. Just come clean and let the rest of us get on with more important cases, no?

  29. Rescue & Facs,

Just wanted to give you two a heads up so you would know.. A camera crew from channel 2 news in Chicago just left the suspects house from doing a sit down interview with him and it will be on at 5:00PM today.. This might be worth watching since he has never done a sit down with any local T.V stations before. Hang thought you guys might want to know about this.

  30. I’ve been surprised every time they drop clangers that they come back for more. Remind me to send them the cell number of my reality coach.

We hope that, with all of the posters/contributors, this blog continues to be a valuable source of information as it crops up too.

I pity you for having been that up close and personal to JB … but then, based on your post, maybe you didn’t have to be that close! 😀

  33. lol for the LOVE OF GOD! I sort of didn’t like to admit that that made me laugh even harder than the absent opposible thumbs 😀

  34. I just wanted to thank the mods for including the photograph of the cadaver dog. My favourite.

And Hedidit….love to see you posting more! You’re brilliant.

New Site by Family And Friends

We are the friends and family of Stacy Peterson who went missing October 28th, 2007 from Bolingbrook, IL. We are looking for our lost loved one, and we will not stop looking until we find her!

    Stacy Ann Peterson

Stacy Peterson is a loving mother of four. She has two children with her husband; Lacy, age 4 and Anthony, age 5. She also legally adopted two of her husband’s children, Kris and Tom, and treated them as if they were her own. Stacy is a loving and caring person always thinking about everyone else. She is a very giving person, she cares about everyone and loves life. She always made sure her family and friends had food, she would even cook and deliver lunches to them at their work place.

Stacy has been missing since Sunday, October 28, 2007. Her family last heard from her around 10:00 am that morning. She was getting ready to go to a friend of the family’s house to paint, when she didn’t show. Her family started to worry, they began calling her cell phone with no response. After hours of not being able to contact her, her sister reported her missing to the Illinois State Police District 5.

    From Her Cousin, Stephanie

As Stacy’s cousin, I want to share that this tragedy is not in vain. That these moments spent, on reworking this website and sharing Stacy’s life with the world really makes me stop and think, think about how I am living my own life. And if Stacy were to be here today, even after enduring whatever she has endured, she would not want us to stop living but to continue living, and to do it to the fullest. I would here her say, “Don’t lose Heart!” She would even ask that we strive to connect with each other through this. Thank you for what you gave us Stacy! Thank you!!!
