Coming Soon to You on Pay-per-Drew: Drew Peterson is Spoiling for a Fight

Well, it looks like things were quiet for too long, a mere few days!  Peterson is cranking up not only that celeb machine, but the money-making machine as well.  Of course, any money he makes from yet another one of his ventures isn’t for him, it’s his children, he claims, that will ultimately cash in.

Peterson May Fight GF’s ex-BF
Steve Miller Reporting
WBBM Newsradio 780

(WBBM) – Drew Peterson says West Coast promoters may set up a fight between him and his live-in girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. It is the latest twist in a sideshow that’s almost a year and a half old now. Drew Peterson says he has been challenged to a fight by his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. “Let him put his money where his mouth is and see what he’s got. Actually, he’s been kind of nuisancy to her and the guy was stalking her.” Peterson’s girlfriend is Christina Raines, 24.

Trained as a police officer, 55-year-old Peterson says it’s been 35 years since he was in a fight. “I mean, it’s going to be interesting watching me take on a guy 25 years my junior. But we’ll see how it goes.” WBBM asked Peterson what he’d do with his share of the money: keep it or give it to charity. “My biggest charity is my children. So if anything develops or if I make any money from it, anything would be for their future.” Peterson is a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife Stacy, and his third wife died under mysterious circumstances.

UPDATE: 3/5/09

There has been some confusion about who originally challenged whom to this fight.
In an attempt to clear this up I emailed Sherman at Q101, who replied and explained that the clips posted on the Q101 site are incomplete. They omit the part of the interview where Mike challenged Drew, right before Drew called in to the station.

He included an MP3 of the missing part.

TRANSCRIPT:

SHERMAN: If Drew was listening right now, what would you want to say to him?

MIKE: I just think, I think that he’s a scumbag. That’s it, and I think that… He aggravates me so much on this with the fact that he has screwed up her head so bad. I mean, I’m not jealous of the fact that I got broken up with because everybody gets broken up with. People are married for thirty years who get broken up with. Who cares? My biggest thing is I’m just so, so aggravated at what he’s doing to her that I just, seriously, I would love to get in a boxing ring with this guy. I would love just to throw on gloves and just go like four of six rounds with him.

SHERMAN: That much, huh?

MIKE: Yes. That’s what I want to do. Yeah. I would love to do that.

  1. This guy seems to want to prove he’s really a man by taking on anyone that will agree to help him make a few bucks dancin’ around a boxing ring.

But, we all know the only punches Drew Peterson lands are on vulnerable, defenseless women.

Come on – man up – make it a street fight without cameras and promoters! And let it be a few women that will beat the crap out of you for a change, instead of the other way around!

  2. All I can say is, huh?

This was on Steve Miller’s blog:

Newsradio 780 asked the president of the publishing company, Michael Viner of Phoenix Books, whether he’d consider a Drew Peterson tell-all book.

    No.

“I’m not sympathetic to Drew Peterson, although I do believe that killing your wife should be a misdemeanor that should be prosecuted. But that’s just personal opinion.”

    ******

    mis·de·mean·or
    n.
    1. A misdeed.
    2. Law An offense less serious than a felony.

Killing one’s wife is is a “misdeed?”

Oh. So that’s what we’ve been pursuing all these long months. Seeing Drew Peterson taken away in handcuffs for a couple of misdeeds.

  3. I wonder…Who in their right mind would even bother to pay to see this crap ??

I really dont care if DP gets his ass kicked in a boxing match, I want to see the man stand trial for his crimes…all of them !

  4. Hey Wonder. Hope your foot is doing better.

I don’t think there’s many that would pay to see this guy in a contrived boxing match. He’s delusional from having to carry around that enlarged head of his.

Hey, BTW, he’s got a new grandchild either coming soon or already here. Hope her daddy and mommy have started her celebrity grandfather’s scrapbook for her. Won’t she be proud of her grandpa — fighting for his Chrissy’s honor!

  5. WBBM asked Peterson what he’d do with his share of the money: keep it or give it to charity. “My biggest charity is my children. So if anything develops or if I make any money from it, anything would be for their future.”

Nice backpedalling on that when he was the one who mentioned a charity.

NOTE TO DREW: Supporting your own dependants is not considered a charity.

  6. See, see how carefully chosen Brodsky’s words are, and Peterson, when it comes to elaborating on book/media/appearance profits. Of course, SOMEBODY is making profits, but the mutants use the children as an excuse for banking the cash.

“We vehemently deny that there was any media stunt,” Brodksy said. He also denied rumors that he, or Peterson, receive any profit from the sales of “Drew Peterson Exposed.”

  7. Hey Rescue, it is going along slowwwlyyyyy !
But I am well medicated I suppose. I am just disgusted with this entire fiasco, the case, DP and the rest of the BS along with his side show. I want to hear from the GJ either way..it is time to shit or get off the pot as far as I am concerned. WTF could possibly take this long ??

If DP was in any way charitable towards anyone…He would not have murdered two women. IMO 😉

  8. Drew’s always used the kids to funnel money since this whole situation began.

Remember the M William Phelps book deal that fell through?

GREGG: Is he doing this, was he doing it for money or for revenge? Is he mad about the media the way the media was treating him? What’s his deal?

MATT: He said he didn’t want the money, but he wanted a certain percentage to go to his 5 kids into a trust fund, of course.

  9. Just to jog your memory, it was Drew who intially suggested a fight for charity.

MULLER: You’re challenging Geraldo Rivera to a fight.

    PETERSON: Yes I am.

MULLER: Where would this take place?

PETERSON: Let’s put it on TV. Let’s do it for some charity event.

MULLER: Would you do it in Chicago or do it in New York?

PETERSON: Let’s do it in Vegas.

  10. I’m trying to think how low this could all go…if I ready myself it won’t be so awful right?

    So what comes next?

Drew starts selling off Stacy’s belongings on E-Bay. Chrissy is modelling them.

Drew challenges Bret Michaels to a pay-per-view fight.

Drew forces his and Chrissy’s kids into a Brady Bunch-like pop band. They release a single about how moms go away. They do a live accoustic set on Mancow’s show.

    Hey, it’s for charity…

BTW, here’s the link to Steve’s “overflow” blog where he gives a little more detail and personal insight than in the WBBM story: http://www.chireporter.com/Stephen_Miller/Blog/Entries/2009/3/2_drew_peterson_itching_for_a_fight%EF%BF%BC.html#

  11. Drew Peterson says he has been challenged to a fight by his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. “Let him put his money where his mouth is and see what he’s got.

Hmmm – How come it is that Drew challenged Geraldo to a fight and when he didn’t bite at it he then challenges Mike to a fight but then lies and says that he was challenged by Mike.

S or T: Is she mad at Mike for coming on?

PETERSON: Yes, she is. But I’m not going to sit and let him badmouth her like that.

SIUDA: At what point did I…guys, did I ever badmouth her once?

PETERSON: If this knucklehead wants to go in the ring with me, you set it up.

    Liar. Liar. Pants on fire.

Drew pretends like others prod him and put him up to stuff but he forgets that by putting himself on the public media spotlight people are able to catch him in his lies.

  12. Word of the day: Nuisancy

As in, “Let him put his money where his mouth is and see what he’s got. Actually, he’s been kind of nuisancy to her and the guy was stalking her.”

  13. I wonder who contacted whom for that blog entry. I think Drew may have been sad that his name wasn’t in the news for nearly a week even after challenging Mike to that fight so he contacted another radio host to see if he could get movement on it and keep his name in the news so he doesn’t lose his “celebrity” status.

I do find it interesting that Joel has been completely silent on these two radio calls. If I were his lawyer, I’d be pissed at him and would walk away from the case. That could actually give Brodsky more future clients and interview possibilities than staying with him. 🙂

  14. Hey, the guy is begging for attention!!!

Either Mike comes out and says he won’t lower himself by letting this doofus try and make money associated with the death and disappearance of Kathleen and Stacy, or Mike stays quiet and lets dopey move on to his next challenger and beg for attention. Geraldo Rivera ignored the moron, and that’s exactly what Mike should do here.

This idiot, Drew, is in a meltdown. It’s about time he self-destructs. Nobody gives a rat’s ass who he wants to fight or why.

    Give it up, dopey.

  15. IMO, best case scenario here is both Mike and Q101 drop out (if they haven’t already)after getting some legal advice, and then Drew challenges yet another person to a fight, making himself look like even more of a callous, greedy asshole.

Let’s see, who’s next? Lenny? Ric Mims? Yelton?

  16. Just a thought: Maybe Mike was supposed to challenge Drew to the fight and that’s why they keep promoting it that way.

  17. I do hope this fight never takes place. I don’t think it will (due to lack of interest in anyone watching it).

But if it did, there is no doubt the funds would go in a trust for his children. A trust for which he would be the executor.

    🙄

And as for Michael Viner of Phoenix Books … all I can hope for him is that he didn’t know the definition of misdemeanor when he made that statement.

The president of a publishing company doesn’t have to know that kind of stuff. 😉

  18. I hope this fight stuff fades away and the focus goes back to the real issues – Kathleen is dead, Stacy is missing, and there are 4 kids that are missing their mother(s).

  19. TAI – according to SMM and Joe Hosey there is some new information but they can’t say anything about it yet. I’m eagerly awaiting that.

Meanwhile, if the suspect wants to keep reminding the public that he’s a heartless, greedy, opportunistic POS, it’s fine with me.

  20. First Drew Peterson wanted to fight Geraldo Rivera, but, I forget why. I’m sure it was for a very Drew reason. 😉

Now he wants to fight Mike for the sake of Chrissy Raines. I’ve lost track of the exact reason but some Drew reasons that have come up are: stalking, nuisancy, and/or badmouthing Raines. Pick one. Whatever works for you.

Maybe Brodsky will withdraw, and he can challenge him to a fight. Drew reason: Loss of consortium.

  21. Let me rephrase that – It is fine that he keeps going out there and the media is able to capture the video or audio of him saying so many stupid things. I just hope that the regular media does a catch and release program so his antics don’t take over the important issues.

  22. Well maybe the viagra isn’t working anymore and he has prove his manhood someother way to Chrissy so he want’s a fight. We can only hope that with his advanced years and being out of shape that maybe he will give himself a heart attack. That would save the taxpayers money…..

  23. Let’s just hope Mike has enough sense to not feed into Drews nonsense and attention grabbing as we all know Drew is the one challenging people to a fight (he wants a street fight) and not the other way around.

Mike should know Drew already lost, even without a fight, as he’s got Christina and what a prize she turned out to be !

Mike can do a lot better than getting himself involved with either Christina OR Drew !

  24. “I’m not sympathetic to Drew Peterson, although I do believe that killing your wife should be a misdemeanor that should be prosecuted. But that’s just personal opinion.”

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Oke if killing your wife is only a misdemeanor, what is killing two wives called ??

Is that slightly more serious or does that make you a hero ??

  25. Has anyone seen the electronic “Missing: Stacy Peterson” billboard on I-55?

There are photos up at hang drew’s blog.

  26. For Mike to ponder:

With Christina and her children living in Drews house that would be the equivalent to adding three children to that household with Christina being the most unmanageable because she is so totally clueless what is expected of her or how to conduct herself in the situation she is placed in.

Even in every carefully orchestrated interview, Drew and Christina have totally contradicted each other about everything to do with their life together.

We have seen Drew publicly put Christina down, we have seen Christina publicly ridicule Drew, we have heard Christina yelling in the background in several interviews and we have heard children crying and screaming(!).

Does that sound like the blissful and harmonious relationship Drew is trying to portray and something Mike is missing out on ?

  27. Don’t worry JAH, Drew will just keep “shaking the box” until everyone finds their place…just like baseball cards.

    *shudder*

  28. I don’t want to be cruel but if Drew wants to fight for Chrissies honor wouldn’t that be a very short fight (?)

Sorry couldn’t help that one ……

  29. Arrest this POS already…He’ nothing but a media whore.. Wonder if son Kris, will give him some wrestling tips?
How long is ISP and Glasgow going to let this go on? And, oh by the way, Chrissy’s honor? lol What honor? The only honor Drew and Chrissy have is this HONOR AMONG THIEVES….

  30. Good morning friends!

I would just like to add re Mike Viner’s remark.

This was his little joke. Ha Ha. Anyone else notice how violence against women often turns into a joke?

And if we’re not laughing we have no sense of humour? Hope someone laughs with him with a slap…
…and I quite like Rescue’s idea that a bunch of “little girls” jump Drew in an alley.

The wbbm blog? wouldn’t let me add a comment 😦

  31. Found this on someone else’s blog and thought it was pretty good:

    * Drew Peterson may be willing to box his girlfriend’s ex. The best part will be the weigh-in, when we get to see ol’ Drew in his skivvies. Of course, those weigh-ins get pretty testy. Usually a lot of trash talk. I expect Drew to say something along the lines of, “I’m gonna hit you so hard, you’ll fall down and I’ll smother you with a pillow and put you in a giant tupperware tub and drive you out to the middle of nowhere and bury you and tell everyone you just ran away.”

    Seems like something he’d say.

    http://bensbreakfastblog.wordpress.com/2009/03/04/wallet-full-of-teeth/

  32. I did email Michael Viner and let him know I was incensed with his “misdemeanor” remark on Newsradio 780. I suggested he make a public apology and make a contribution to a Will County shelter for abused women and children. This was his response.

“HUMOR IS STILL PERMISSABLE …. AND I HAVE DONE FAR MORE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS (INCLUDING WOMAN’S RIGHTS) THAN YOU WILL EVER DO.”

I’d would hope that women in Illinois and everywhere would hit this unrepentant POS right where it hurts the most and decline to buy the upcoming Blagojevich book. It would be interesting to see how well he does with that brand of humor.

  33. Oh, sugar, that is just plain wrong! However, I think he’s embarrassed by either his lack of knowledge, or his cold and callous attitude. Either way, that was uncalled for.

As to Blago’s book, I don’t think they’ll be much call for people wanting to buy it. If his lawyers are worth the money he’s paying them, they just might have to convince him to STFU. If not, then what he probably has to say won’t be anymore than he’s said on all of his tv appearances. In today’s economy, paying $25.00 to help finance what Blago thinks is going to be a tidy sum to bank, isn’t so easy. Blago – Peterson, what a bunch of has-been clucks. Their heads are so big these days, it’s a wonder they don’t tip over from the imbalance.

  34. Facs and Rescue –

Just thought I’d stop by and say hi. You guys are doing a great job and continue to respect Stacy and Kathleen, as well as their loved ones.

I don’t read here often anymore, but it sure looks good. Keep up the good work. 🙂

  35. gotoutandhappy – thank you very much for your kind words. We all want to get to the same place, seeing Drew Peterson be charged for his crimes. Not pay to see him pretend he’s taking out some guy in a boxing match, all the while using his children as the excuse for cashing in on the profits.

    Drew is despicable.

  36. You can count on it, I’ll pass on any book published by Phoenix from this point forward. He may have thought his remark was humorous, but IMO he did so at the expense of Kathleen and Stacy and every other woman who has lost their lives at the hands of a significant other. As far as I’m concerned, he can stick his humor right up there in his own anatomy where the sun doesn’t shine.

  37. Of course the ‘misdemeanor’ was intentional. Very witty. He thinks he’s Oscar Wilde. I took Michael Viner to task in my email about how joking about such a matter perpetuates the tacit acceptance of violence against women. No answer yet.

  38. Hey Sugarbabe-
“HUMOR IS STILL PERMISSABLE …. AND I HAVE DONE FAR MORE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS (INCLUDING WOMAN’S RIGHTS) THAN YOU WILL EVER DO.”

Is this really the way he spelled PERMISSIBLE?

  39. Bucket, yeah it does seem to be Viner taking a stab at a Wildean “bon mot”.

There’s a time and a place for that, however. Two women gone (mostly likely murdered); a year and a half and no arrest of a suspect who mocks and disrespects them on a daily basis.

There’s really no excuse for making a tasteless attempt to trump the suspect’s level of callousness.

  40. Well, I’ve gogled Michael Viner + Human Rights. Nada.

Maybe there’s a clue among the books he’s written?

    Big Book of Showbiz Bloopers

    Tales from the Casting Couch

    Final Exit for Cats
    a feline suicide guide.

  41. Drew says that he hasn’t had a fight in 35 years, what about the deaths of his two wives. He must have had to fight them in order to kill them, or did they just sit there and let it happen. He is acting like a juvenile delinquent, he should just go and grow up this behaviour is truly disgusting….

  42. lol juvenile delinquent, qhorses.I bet he’s fought plenty enough. He wants to do that ufc thang because he probably only knows dirty moves.lol

I agree with everyone that it’s dead weird to go around challenging people to a fight. He’s not using his imagination.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If Michael Viner is such a tireless worker for Human Rights (including Women’s rights) he has just undone all his hard work with that tasteless comment !

  47. As far as these large advances go.

A Book Publisher can only pay huge advances if he knows he is going to recoup his money with a Best Seller book.

That’s why none of the big Publishing Houses are going anywhere near either Blago or Drew and their entourage.

They already know they would just be dealing with hugely enlarged egos, rather than publicity worthiness.

  48. Bucket #46:

You bet — that’s precisely how Viner spelled it. What a genius, eh? Personally, I thought his response sounded like at least two too many drinks that late at night. So, now we know his disposition doesn’t improve any as the day wears on into evening. Some people never learn that their misery is optional and of their own doing. I sure don’t feel the need or the desire to “fix” him; he’s a waste of time, IMO. But I certainly will remember to never buy anything published by Phoenix again. I liked Hosey’s book, so I’ll give all the credit to Joe.

  49. Well I guess “final” doesn’t really mean final in Will County court-speak. Mike Robinson’s case is only set to go to pretrial next Monday per Will County’s website:

    ROBINSON MICHAEL 3 9 9 404 930
    08CF000098 0 INTIMIDATION/PHYSICAL 1 Pretrial

    ROBINSON MICHAEL 3 9 9 404 930
    08CF000098 0 DOMESTIC BTRY/PHYSICAL 2 Pretrial

    ROBINSON MICHAEL 3 9 9 404 930
    08CF000098 0 BATTERY/CAUSE BODILY 3 Pretrial

  50. Michael Viner’s a jerk. When he was married to Deborah Raffin (divorced 4-5 yrs ago) and they ran Dove Audio Books he appointed himself moral arbiter for all & pretty much teed off everyone.
He’s also known for saying things like, “Lawsuits sell books” when asked why he worked with certain authors. He’s a guy who always appears to be in it for himself and not heavily encumbered by those pesky ethics.

  51. Dear Mr. Viner

I’m writing to you about the comment you made as reported by WBBM radio:

“I’m not sympathetic to Drew Peterson, although I do believe that killing your wife should be a misdemeanor that should be prosecuted. But that’s just personal opinion.”

    Very witty.

I realise it hasn’t been many generations since it was legal to beat your wife so long as you stop short of maiming or killing, but I would have expected a man of your education to know better than to laugh at violence towards women. IT’S NOT OK and perpetuates the tacit acceptance of same.

    M.Viner:
humor and parody are in my opinion allowable////certainly from someone who has a track record for championing such causes.

In a message dated 3/4/2009 8:49:25 A.M. Pacific Standard Time,

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    Dear Mr. Viner,

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I wouldn’t want to completely misjudge you. Unfortunately your reputation for defending women hadn’t come to my attention, so I was confronted only by the offense. I would beg you to consider how much worse such a comment could be coming from someone with this reputation; a final tacit high5.

I am interested to hear about your support for women’s rights.

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    Viner:
we were the first people to attack O.J.her private diary….many threats etc. …then was expert witness/helper on the civil trial….financial contributions to her sisters charity [probably a waste] and regular contributions to the LA missions and man of the year shared at portals [transitional homeless shelter] …wrote a good book on Eastern European women who were often enslaved…ETC.

  52. Last weekend CLTV producer, Afua Owusu, went out for the evening with friends and ended up at the same club as Drew Peterson and Chrissy Raines. Here is the blog post she wrote about it:

    http://weblogs.cltv.com/news/local/chicago/2009/03/date_night_with_drew_peterson.html#more

    “Date Night with Drew Peterson”

I couldn’t help myself. I let out a gasp (more from shock than amazement) and said, “Drew Peterson is here.” My friends Hanna and Lauren were the first two to hear me. They both said “What?!!” and quickly turned around to face the opposite end of the bar (which was directly in my line of vision). At that moment Peterson looked up and for a second our eyes met… and no it was not love at first sight…
Both of my friends quickly turned back around and omg’d. I broke eye contact and turned to the friends that were standing behind me and dropped the bombshell.

I looked around the bar and I noticed a lot of people were watching Peterson as he and his girlfriend, Christina Raines, went on with a very public display of affection. Clearly the two were out not just for date night but, with the hopes of attracting some attention. I guess they succeeded in doing both.

I didn’t know Stacy, but I know some people who did. They cry every time her picture flashes across their TV screens. Because it’s not just a news story to them, it’s a reminder of a void in their lives. It’s a suppressed memory that comes to the front of their mind every time they pass her favorite restaurant. Seeing Peterson and Raines out having a good time was a reality check for me. I write stories everyday about people who’ve had something traumatic or exciting happen in their lives – but it’s never hit me as hard as when I physically saw the two of them in public.

  53. There are some (blurry cell phone) pics, too. We heard about this yesterday on that CLTV video but it took her forever to put the post up.

Rescue finally saw it and gave me the heads up.

At first I was worried that she was buying into his delusional celebrity status, but by the end I had a lump in my throat as well.

  54. It’s about time someone acknowledged that people walk out of a place when he arrives! Someone who’s not sugarcoating Drew Peterson and his pet appearing on scene like two stars.

I’ve often wondered about people running into him and sharing what really goes on when he’s around. It is hard to think or believe that he’s the superstar he likes to think he is.

In fact, he’s a disgusting pos that should clear a room — and, fast!

  55. Bucket,as to #63… yep – used to, at least.

And Raffin filed for divorce from Viner in ’04 & final in ’05.

  56. Maybe dopey can call into CLTV tomorrow and challenge Afua Owusu to a fight for not dropping down and kissing his feet at Bar Louie. That’s his latest ploy – challenge anyone to a duel that doesn’t act in awe of him and attach themselves to his ass like a suction cup. En Guarde.

  57. Not that I think DP is capable of shame, but I am glad to learn there are people who walk out when they see him enter.

  58. Good Evening!

As we all know, tomorrow is Thursday. Will the GJ meet and we will have a report? Really tired of reading about DP and his shenanigans.

His attorney has been very quiet.

  59. TAI said:
I do find it interesting that Joel has been completely silent on these two radio calls. If I were his lawyer, I’d be pissed at him and would walk away from the case. That could actually give Brodsky more future clients and interview possibilities than staying with him.

    * * * * * * *
Well, he could actually be getting his head down to some hard work, possibly whatever JH and SMM are so excited about is keeping him occupied, but I’m not sure he could walk away from the tiny, scared loser and any kind of control over the ISP overhears with him on them situation. 😉

  60. Maybe he has some shame? We last heard of him attempting to get Hosey the sack (and Mark Wahlberg previously!) and claiming tiny scared loser’s computer had been hacked.

  61. Happy GJ day.

I wonder…Will today be the day that they hand down the indictment ??

I wonder…Does anyone know if there is bail on a homicide charge in the state of Illinios ??

  62. Good morning, everyone. Thought I’d post this here from WBBM News Radio, Steve Miller’s Blog. It’s his response to these two comments:

    therealstory
I listened to that show, and I did not hear Mike challenge Drew. Drew challenged Mike. Steve, I, and I am sure your readers, would appreciate it if you could set the story straight. Thanks.
    Wednesday, March 4, 2009 – 05:21 AM

    ~ lola
therealstory … i agree with you. i heard the interview and it was Drew that launched the challenge NOT Mike. Bizarre how that got turned around.
    ****************

    Steve Miller
Thanks for the correction. I went to the radio station’s website, where they’ve posted an excerpt from the interview, and it appears Drew Peterson challenged the ex-boyfriend, Mike.
We’ll see if this fight actually takes place.

  63. Good to see Steve acknowledge the misinformation. I pointed that out the second I saw this report. It’s hard to have pity for someone who puts themself out there in such bizarre ways.

  64. OT – but involves Sellit, and an interesting point is mentioned about lie detector tests:

Will Blago be forced to take lie detector test?
    The Blago beat …

    March 5, 2009

    BY MICHAEL SNEED Sun-Times Columnist

    Good grief!

Sneed is told former Gov. Rod Blagojevich may be asked to submit to a lie detector test if he wants to get his book published!

    • • Translation: Publisher Michael Viner, who has signed the embattled Blago to a six-figure book deal, is eyeing the possibility.

    • • Quoth a Viner spokesman: “In certain cases it [a lie detector test] is company policy. We will make that decision after we read the [Blago] manuscript and vet it with lawyers.”

    • • Background: Although Viner told Sneed the book was not about Blago’s guilt or innocence, but how the former governor was treated unfairly, New York Post columnist Cindy Adams tipped Viner’s plans to give him a lie detector test “to make sure he [Blago] believes what he believes.”

    • • The buckshot: “A lie detector test is news to me,” said Glenn Selig, Blago’s publicist — who tells Sneed he helped broker the book deal. “It’s not unusual for a book publisher to request a lie detector test, but it certainly wasn’t part of the contract or even discussed during our negotiations!”

    • • The backshot: “A lie detector test is one way of making sure the writer believes what he is writing,” said a top Chicago attorney. “But it’s not hard to pass a lie detector test if you believe” something is true — “even if it isn’t,” he added.

    • • The backshot: The Blago book, which details his recent ordeal with the feds, is scheduled to be published in October by Phoenix books — and has been given the working title The Governor. It is being written longhand — and with the aide of dictation device hooked up to a computer. “He [Blago] gets up at 4 a.m. and works through dinner,” said Selig.

    Oh, wasn’t Brodsky, then. *Meow!*

  66. Never give up hope:

Court told how suspect plotted to kill ex-Chicago Bear’s girlfriend

…Yang, 41, had been the chief suspect for months, authorities said, but they didn’t have enough to charge her. In the end, it was her own loose tongue, sharing telltale details with a friend, that cinched her arrest, authorities said.

Investigators used electronic eavesdropping devices to monitor Yang’s cell phone conversations since last month, Waller said. They got the break they were looking for when Yang made incriminating statements in calls last week with the friend, who agreed to wear a listening device to get evidence that was “instrumental,” he said.

“Marni Yang in her own words described how she committed this murder and how she disposed of the evidence,” Deerfield Deputy Police Chief Rick Wilk said…

  67. Thanks for all the news!

That’s funny. Who knew Blabo could talk about injustices he has suffered for 10 or so hours straight? Daily?

  68. NEWSFLASH:

It seems that Mike did say on the air that he wanted to box Drew and immediately after he said that, Drew called in to the radio station.

Sherman at Q101 sent me an MP3 clip of the bit of the interview with Mike where he says he wants to fight Drew (which got omitted from the clip on their blog).

I’ll get it transcribed ASAP and see if I can put the MP3 up somewhere for listening.

  69. OK, here you go.

  70. Even after hearing that, I’m still not convinced that this wasn’t set up beforehand by Mike and Drew, or maybe even that Mike decided he’d like to get in on the action since Drew was challenging people to fights.

It’s really too bad they left that bit out of the clips.

  71. I just heard from Sherman again and he says he re-edited the clip (I don’t know if it’s part 1 or part 2) so that it now includes the part with Mike wanting to box Drew.

  72. Facs – Dang!! WTF is wrong with Sherman and Tingle making me have to eat my words of “Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!” that I said about Drew and this fight.

I guess that again teaches me that we only get some of the story from the media.

  73. Bucket – Why in the world do I feel like the Blago book will be like the one Jack Nicholson was writing in The Shining.

Every single page will be – I am innocent and did nothing wrong. I am innocent and did nothing wrong. (repeat, repeat, repeat).

  74. TAI – Well, we were about to do a post in which “liar, liar pants on fire” was going to figure greatly, but I was worried that we maybe didn’t have the whole story…Pheeewwww.

    * * * * lol at you

  76. There you have it. Mike said he’d like to go a few rounds with dopey. Yup, he triggered the call of dopey wanting to take him up on it.

Why on earth didn’t the radio station put that segment up on their website in the first place? Geesh.

But, all-in-all, it was a stroke of luck that dopey happened to be listening to Mike’s call on the radio station to catch him taunting Drew, egging him on, heh? I mean, we’ve been flapping our jaws all this time over what we didn’t hear, but what was really said, and what we’ve now heard.

    Got all that?

i TOTALLY agree. It makes NO sense that this part, “got omitted”. It’s not like it’s a small detail. 🙄

Personally, i’d put my money down that drewpy wouldn’t last 1 round. And as usual daddy droopy fails to consider his kids.
How are they going to feel if he walks in the door all bloodied and bruised ?

  78. Is it DPeterson’s ultimate goal in life to humiliate his children beyond belief? How much more could he possibly do to destroy their day-to-day lives with this nonsense?

    Those poor kids.

If his adult son, Steve, wants to keep a relationship with this nut job, that’s certainly his decision, but subjecting his wife and soon to be child to the antics of his Bozo father defies logic.

He would expect them to feel sorry for him, think the whole world is picking on their dad, and he’s the only person they can really trust, it’s just them against the world. He’s such a POS

  80. i can’t say i wouldn’t want Mike to beat the crap out of Drew. But when i think of Anthony and Lacy especially, and the reaction of fear and sadness they might feel seeing the results, it’s very disturbing to me.

Now after they lock him up they can beat him up everyday for all i care. 😉

Love the surreal teapot Bucket !
It’s like a symbolic representation of all of us. Suspended in limbo waiting for justice.

  81. You know what? I am furious with the media. The responsibility for this disgusting excuse for a human being’s infamy lies totally at the feet of all the media outlets that give him time, space and a place to air his ridiculous rantings. For F**S sake, ignore him!

My God! He is a NOBODY. STOP, for the love of God, STOP. I almost can’t read anymore because I am sickened by the media who keep promoting this murderer’s infamy. STOP
