Groundworkis a domestic violence program of the Guardian Angel Community Services, a non-profit 501c (3) social service agency. Groundwork operates a 24-hour emergency shelter that provides a safe haven for victims. Last year the shelter provided almost eight thousand nights of shelter. Nearly a third of those nights were for children who had been impacted by domestic violence. Additionally, Groundwork operates a 24-hour hotline providing crisis intervention, safety planning, information and referrals. All services are offered to victims free of charge. Groundwork also offers legal advocacy as well as individual and group counseling to adults and children.

  1. My understanding is that it is not connected to Friends of Stacy Peterson. In case anyone was wondering that. And it is a legitimate fundraiser, if anyone was wondering that.

  2. We are walking in Stacy’s honor, not raising money in her name. There is a difference. The fundraiser is to fight domestic violence, we just thought that since it is near the anniversary of Stacy having gone missing we would choose that day to remember her as well.

The two situations go hand in hand, both Kathleen and Stacy were victims of domestic violence, this organization would have been there to help them.

Not one person on our team “Angels for Stacy” wishes to make any money off of the situation, we only wish to remember this beautiful young woman who was taken away from her family way to soon.

I hope we will see many of you there supporting this great cause and helping the world to remember this lovely Angel who has touched so many of us.

  3. It’s great that Glasgow is going to paricipate in the event.

I can remember (if I am not mistaken) Calgano made this organization aware of Kathleen’s problems with Drew and wanted Kathleen to go there.

Thanks to all those who are helping.

  4. Thank you noway and fuzzy! Of course I support the cause, just taken aback by the email and its timing.(!) Hooray for Glasgow. I really appreciated what he had to say about violence against women a little while ago. I think it will be very successful and the organizers clever to give a good few weeks run-up publicity. 🙂
